Besides collusion, how secure is this app? Anyone heard any stories?

I'd say if you have a trustworthy agent, and the club looks good, go for it. Common sense tells me the worrying part is more to do with the agent than with the security of the software, since the software is obviously 3rd party software and I'd guess the owners of your club more than likely didn't make it.
I tried to get on this app myself, but could never find a good club with a good agent. Really needed both parts to be solid for me to want to risk it.

There are 2 good rooms out here (Thailand) ran by the local poker community. Cash outs and rakeback are no problem just wondering about the security.
Thanks for the input!

of course fishing for some rumour, might get you vital information, but i guess you should ask programmers.

as far as i understood (w/o knowing the specifics of PPPoker), such apps have several flaws. personally i would want to know, about the traffic (is there a central server, is this p2p; what encryption) and about the random generator (doubt they have true random numbers). besides that, most phones aren't secured at all, so that's another point.

As .... said, if you have an trustworthy agent i think its just as safe to play there as on many other sites... I've played there for some time now and never had issues cashing out my winnings. And with the right agents you can even be lucky to hit some clubs with some sick FIZZESSS :P

Ya, the rng is a little questionable and something that needs to be kept in mind when betting

Yes, this is true. Everyone is always looking for that next soft site and I think this is it. You can literally find a good room and not tell anyone and the place getting infested by solid players will take a lot longer.

The only way to multi table is to setup multiple accts.
All the rooms I play in everyone had multiple names. It's annoying but it is what it is.

I understand there is some work going on to prevent more than one account playing on one IP. Also there was talk of preventing users in the same physical space (GPS data) playing at once. That will be a pain unless they work out their multitabling option. Many of the games are quite small (25/50c, 50/$1) and you'd need several going at once unless boiled rice is your thing.

Collusion is an ever present danger however the level of sophistication of the average pppoker player is such that, collusion really isn't a day to day issue (in my experience and opinion). It may have affected my win rate, but I'm still delighted with my win rate, know what I mean?

Excellent points...

Hopefully they do update it to where you can't have more then 1 account playing on one IP in one particular club.

Hi

Has anyone got any information on PP Poker

One of the Twitch streams I watch plays on this site and it seems filled with huge whales with awful stats.

There is very little info that comes up in Google; you seem to have to join a "club" and use a middleman to get money on or off the site. It seems very dodgy to me with plenty of scope to get ripped off.

Solid info appreciated.

Haha yeah basically a site to host home games you need to specific code to enter a club.

Yeah they need to make it so you can't have more then one account playing in same club on 1 IP to prevent collusion problems.

It's actually pretty hard to find these clubs w/o talking to people in person you meet at live home games, idk any other way wish there was.

Yeah speaking of that one of my friends has made 50k total from it and is only getting paid 9k/50k as of now... some people are just too greedy

yes PPP uses the agent-based model for an online poker site (as opposed to sites that have a central cashier where the player handles everything himself)

the agent system has been around for a while and it's somewhat similar to sportsbetting with a bookie (if you're betting/playing on credit) - having a really reputable agent/affiliate is a big deal!

So to multitable you need to multi account.
Can someone sit at the same table with 2 different accounts? There are rumors abound about this practice.

unfortunately they can
we are constantly letting our game host to look out for this practice.
but we are able to track this if there is any collusion. we are able to look at the IP,and gps and devices they are using.

Hmm.... That's pretty bad. When they were just small clubs and everyone was just one degree of separation from knowing everyone at the table it was a more minimal risk but now with union there are so many randoms at the table it's a little more troubling.

How does rakeback work? Everyone uses an agent on this site so wouldn't the agent get everyone's rakeback? How do you sign up for rakeback? I have read the site offers 35% rakeback.

Not really. I mean from my experience it is going to vary a lot. Some clubs don't offer any rakeback whatsover. I think the 35% is comming from the AllinAsia site that was promoting heavily in the past.

To give you an example I have a rakeback between 10 and 40% based on how close to the top of the food chain my agent is in a particular club.

It used to be a lot better before but now with the unions the union is forced to pay fixed $/h for union tables which is absolutely ridic. So in the end we have a situation where pppoker is screwing clubs and unions, clubs/unions force agents to cover the increased costs, agents offer less incentives for players to play.

So yeah I didn't heard about any global rakeback for everyone comming to pppoker. This was just some affiliates I think.
PPPoker started to limit clubs to max 1.2k people and force unions to pay a lot of $ for each table running when they are in union so the times of any reasonable rakeback there are probably over fwiw.

So you're saying it is just up to every individual group leader to decide how much rakeback to give out of their profits back to the players?

Yep clubs pay agents agents then decide what (if anything) they want to give back to their players.

The 35% number that is floating around is just comming from Allinasia that has as a part of their offering a club in pppoker where they in fact offer 35% back to the players.

But this is a decision that's up to club/agent if they want to offer anything. There isn't anything like global rakeback where every club is forced to pay 35% of rakeback or sth to its players.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but does anyone have connectvitiy issues with the PPPoker app? I have a juicy game that I was invited to, really enjoy the platform although there is no support for Mac. That has forced me to play on the mobile via iPhone. I have a very fast, stable internet connection, yet I constantly get connectvity /timeout issues using the PPPoker app. Is this just me or has it affected anyone else?

The problem has gotten so bad that I am considering just giving up...

ON 27th there was software update and after that many people are reporting problems. Had it happening once for me too. They have some servers problems. Just wait couple of days until they sort it out.
