pokertime = scam pokertime = scam

I'm surprised that a "pokertime" search doesn't yield more results like this... I signed up at Pokertime with the free $10, ran it up, went through the painstaking process of getting 50 poker points at small stakes tables, and ...

Withdrawal #1. Got an email that I should expect my check. Waited and waited. Nothing came. Called support, and was told that I didn't have 50 poker points. I had 40, they said. (My account read 51.xx)

"I'm looking at my account right now and it's over 50"

PT: "The funds were reversed because you don't have 50 poker points, sir."

"How many points do you see that I have on your screen??"

PT: "Sir, the funds were reversed. I would suggest withdrawing again"

Withdrawal #2. Told that I have to deposit to withdraw, even though they checked, and I did make the requisite number of hands. At this point, I mind as well start responding to the "DEAR SIR I AM PLEASED TO REPORT YOU HAVE WON" emails, right? But I deposited anyway. Because I'm stupid. After receiving the same email, and waiting again with no result...

Withdrawal #3. This time, a check actually came. It just wasn't for the right amount and (I know, this will seem surprising to you, gentle reader, but) it was actually LESS than what I was owed.

Phone call #1 about Withdrawal #3:

PT: "Sir, you need to wait, we haven't even sent you out a check yet."

"But I'm *holding* the check, it's just not for the right amount."

PT: "Sir, all I can really tell you is to wait, sometimes it can take up to 21 days for check to travel through the mail, and yours hasn't even left yet."

"I'm LOOKING AT THE CHECK RIGHT NOW!!!"

PT: "Sir, please have patience, we'll send the check, and call back after 21 days."

Phone call #2:

PT: "I'm showing that you have withdrawn 3 times sir, is that correct?"

"No, I only withdrew once. The first two were reversed without telling me"

PT: "Sir, I don't even see the withdrawal you've just given me the transaction number for... please hold"

...and then he hung up on me.

Phone Call #3, minute 27:

PT: "Sir, it looks like Valentino told you we reversed a portion of that check because you haven't played the correct number of raked hands, and you only have 40 poker points"

"Who the @#%@ is valentino?? Look at my account right now. How many poker points are in there?? I haven't played a single @#$*ing hand since my first withdrawal attempt."

PT: "You play mainly tournaments, right?"

"No, exclusively cash games."

PT: "Right. Well not all of those points actually count"

"No, I played at the correct tables, I know the rules"

PT: "Sir, all I can tell you is that I can open an investigation"

Look, Pokertime is an absolute scam. I'll obviously NEVER play there again, and I wouldn't suggest playing there unless you hate yourself so much that if you happen to win you don't mind giving away what you've earned to thieves. In which case, it's the place for you. Support's whole job is to pass along erroneous information and stall. They don't ever resolve conflict, they simply ignore you, and there is NOTHING YOU CAN DO.

they helped me avoid all of these headaches by making my funds disappear when my royal vegas account got transferred.

Sorry to hear that apefish... another victim. But you're right - that way sounds downright humane

This differs greatly from my experience with Pokertime,

I don't play at Pokertime but was invited to play in a $1500 freeroll, took down 3rd for $150, made the minimum deposit to open the ewallet gate and immediately withdrew it all.

No raked hand requirement, nothing.

That was approx 2 years ago.

In July this year got an invite to a $500 freeroll, won it this time, requested an immediate cashout and it was in moneybookers within 24 hours.

I guess you actually have to play there regularly for them to mistreat you.

Pokertime called me a few days ago and offered me 40 "free" dollars to start playing there again.
