UPDATE:
"
Hello XXXX,

We are writing to inform you about the conclusions reached after a thorough investigation of your Stars Account "XXXX".

Our investigation has taken into account all the information available to us, including information that you provided, technical data from our records, and other information. This action was not taken lightly. My findings went to a review board who, after looking at the evidence, agreed that such action was appropriate.

We have found that you are in breach of our Terms of Service by using multiple accounts or sharing accounts with other players. Players may only own one account and only use one account on the site. You can read the complete Terms of Service here:

http://www.pokerstars.eu/poker/room/tos/

Please provide us with an acknowledgment to our Terms of Service before we can reinstate your Stars Account's privileges.

Please review and accept these Terms of Service by replying to this email with your agreement to the following statement:

1) I have fully read, understood and accept your Terms of Service.

2) If I ever breach in whole or in part any provision contained in our Terms of Service, I am aware and accept that you reserve the right to take such action as it sees fit. These may include terminating my agreement to use the Service, immediately blocking access to the Service, permanently terminating my Stars Account and seizing all monies held in the relevant Stars Account.

This acknowledgment must come in the form of “I agree” within your reply.

Pending your reply, your account will remain without play, chat and transfer privileges.

We would also like to inform you that we have suspended your chat privileges for 1 month (till 11-11-2018) as a result of your table chat which on multiple occassions violated our Chat Policy. Please note that you must write to us requesting the reinstatement of your chat priveleges after your suspension expires, as this will not be done automatically.

Please do not attempt to create any other accounts as doing so is a violation of our Terms of Service.

Should you circumvent our controls by opening or accessing another account with any of our brands and/or group companies, we reserve the right to confiscate any and all assets contained in the account(s) irrespective of the amount of time it has taken us to identify and confirm the links between the account(s) and/or the account holder(s).

Thank you for your cooperation.

Regards,

Soubir
Stars Game Integrity"
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Even tough I still do not agree with the allegations I can live with the outcome since it sounds like I get my account back and thats all I care about.

My Brothers account got banned, stating that they are still sure it was multiused. One less recreational customer for stars.

Overall I am happy they replied fast and the whole investigation is over. My Brother is slightly pissed but whatever he just gambled for fun anyway.

The chat ban is 100% warranted there were some drunk sessions I am not too proud of.

Guess the thread can be closed now.

Good to see stars banning accounts based on evidence they may or may not have or something I'm not sure what. Good job!

I will say it seems like you will(or may) be under a lot of scrutiny from now on and if stars feels you did they thing you may or may not have done your account is probably in jeopardy.

Thanks for your cooperation!

Your brother is not allowed to play with your pokertracker because the stats are based on the database with the hands you played.
He should play to create his own database on his own PC. Why don't you buy him a pt4 license for his next birthday?
I m glad you solved the problems and wish you good luck in the big tournament.

Glad to see it's resolved. Don't like the line of questioning nor the lack of apology but I guess they feel they lost 30k.

Pretty crazy im sure like most people have let friends/ girlfriends log into their own accounts from the same computer. It most definitely is not proof of multi-accounting.

Yeah a appology would have been nice

And maybe SOME evidence backing up their claim that this was 100% a case of Multiaccounting. What genius I am to create his account 4 years ago, and now years later use it to multiaccount 100 micros.

The part about increased scrutiny leaves a bad taste. That sounds like at any point if they feel like it I might get banned for no reason at all without a chance to defend myself. This risk alone is gonna reduce my future Volume on stars by a lot.

Just remember that you agree to this:
If I ever breach in whole or in part any provision contained in our Terms of Service, I am aware and accept that you reserve the right to take such action as it sees fit. These may include terminating my agreement to use the Service, immediately blocking access to the Service, permanently terminating my Stars Account and seizing all monies held in the relevant Stars Account.

So they can close your account and keep your money as they see fit because they dont have to provide you with any proof.

Of course this is not true. A company can't just take people's money, that is not how any of this works.

Well if you read what Pokerstars writes to him + how they respond to his explanation reply, then things can go wrong pretty quick. I agree that in many of the posts we see here, people are not always fortcoming with the complete information but again you must admit that we see more and more of these e-mails from game providers saying that an account is closed, they money gone and that's final....

HanSoloDK,

If any staff member wrote to a player saying that their money has been confiscated, and it was "final", they are wrong. This doesn't apply just to PokerStars, but any legitimate online gaming operator.

In the case of PokerStars, they have previously been very proud of their player protections which allow players to escalate and appeal disputes down various channels. To be fair to you, I don't know the details of their current procedures, and am not certain what (if any) changes might have been implemented more recently. That said, players always have a right of appeal to the regulator, courts, and so on.

Can someone provide a link to a case where an internet player had his funds seized and the regulator helped to get his funds back?

Adjusted,

After your post the other day, I submitted a freedom of information request to the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission requesting data along these lines. This data has not previously been published as far as I can tell.

I just got the results; will look to write it up and publish in the next few days
