I've had it for a year or so too. I wouldn't say it freezes for two minutes, but it certainly takes a long time to get going. Maybe there's some super-intensive decryption or handshaking process that my laptop or internet can't keep up with.

But this thread started when Stars software really was improving, and they sure managed to turn that around!

The Deal's gone again too today...

EDIT: my bad, seems there's a button that makes The Deal invisible.

Do Stars auto convert Grand Tour steps into T$ ? Is there an expiry on each race you have ?

Is the new aurora graphics engine helping to make the client any smoother? I'm still using the older version and when I'm multitabling (8+ tables) it starts to have some more lag between my mouse click and action showing on screen that can get quite distracting.

for most people aurora was a lot less smooth, dont know if they made any big changes in the last few weeks but dont think so. i believe aurora was introduced to implement gamificaiton features so i wouldnt expect it to be less load heavy

I've had this issue in the past, and now for a few months as well:

The Tool Tip text always appear in top-left corner of my screen. Everything behaves like this: in lobby, hovering over players to see Country, Bets on the table, etc etc. Anyone experienced this, and got a solution?

The Back Deck graphics (card backs). U can choose Red, Green, Grey or Blue or whatever. Is it possible to edit these to custom ones? E.g. pure white color or soemthing more visible ? How? (hyper simple theme)

Having a problem with the waiting list on Stars - I'll be on the list for all the tables at my stakes, and it works OK at the start of the session, but then my name stops being called, and I get a popup saying I didn't respond in time.

Anyone else? Any ideas?

I've had that a few times over the past year, only fix is to restart the client.

Viewing in BBs mode on Poker Stars question (home games / play chips).

PS wouldn't load, so I deleted / downloaded the client onto my laptop / PC.

Settings - Table Appearance - Table Display. I no longer have the "View in BBs" option to check.

Help. I'm blinded without it. Can anybody help?

Further, the circular arrow in the top left corner to see the last hand is gone. What in the world is going on?

Thanks mate. Yeah, looks like the ".net" version is the play version and the ".com" version is the $ and play version. I've just gotta re-download money version, and I'm set.

No one has experienced the new PokerStars bug that makes seating files dissapear after mixing zoom tables with regular tables?

It makes HUDs unusable in zoom tables, affecting both HM2-3 and PT4. Support of both softwares is blaming pokerstars and saying they cant do anything about it.

It's inconsistent but yeah, usually happens for me after ~30 mins. Have to restart client to fix.

It's been like that for so long it's probably more "feature" than "bug" from their point of view.

The "Show Full Hole Cards" and "Show Full Cards" are working after Aurora engine update? I was forced to update yesterday and now this two option do nothing.

I'm on a 5 year old PC with minimum specs and it lags horribly for me. Not sure about a new PC.

I am running a 2nd gen mobile Intel i7 processor that is 9 years old:

Old engine runs flawlessly 15-tabling, at about 50% CPU utilisation.
Aurora engine is only playable 4-tabling, although lags quite heavily, with CPU running 70-100%.

Not a fan of the visual appearance of Aurora as well.

Whenever we create a new feature, the customer experience comes first. Our goal is to provide access to what you want when you want it and to ensure an enjoyable, safe and fair experience when you get there. We also know every player is different, so we ultimately aim for a balance that is acceptable to everyone.

Our latest feature, Active Waiting List, is all about making the game fairer and the experience better for most players. We created this new system for those who like to play cash games with us and it is primarily designed to combat predatory behaviour and level the playing field. It achieves this goal by making it more difficult for some players to seek out our less experienced or more recreational players. We expect Active Waiting List to have many other positive effects on our community too because it will reduce the time players spend waiting for a seat in a cash game and increase the number of games running, which benefits everyone.

How does it work? If you play cash games online or live, you’ll probably be familiar with the concept of a waiting list. If you play live poker, you may even be familiar with feeder tables or must-move games. The basic premise is that rather than waiting around for a seat in the main game to become available, waiting players form a secondary game. One by one they get their chance to move to the main game as seats at that table become available, all while filling the wait with some poker action.

This is similar to what we want to achieve with Active Waiting List. Players waiting to join a full game must now be actively playing on another table of the same type and stakes to be eligible for a seat.

There are a few adaptations necessary for the online environment. The most significant is the removal of the typical ‘first come first served’ policy for a waiting list. In a live poker room, you would be understandably annoyed if you’d been waiting 30 minutes for a game and another player walked right in and took your seat. But waiting lists in online cash games don’t function in quite the same way. The reality is that sometimes a waiting list of 10 or more players can spring up within a few seconds.

With that in mind, eligibility won’t depend on if you were the first to get on the waiting list. When a seat at your preferred table becomes available, a draw will take place between all players who are waiting to join that table while playing on other tables, and one player will be offered the seat. The draw is weighted to favour players who have been playing on their waiting table for longer, so there is still an incentive to be early on the list.

Instead of allowing players to join waiting lists and sit out, we’re also instead rewarding engagement. So, if you are sitting out on your waiting table when a seat at the table you’ve been waiting for becomes available, you will not be offered it unless no other waiting players are actively playing. This system has been designed to encourage engagement and action, while deterring players whose only objective is to join games with weaker opponents. Now, instead of passively sitting on a waiting list until the right seat becomes available, that player will need to play in order to remain on the waiting list.

Another feature of Active Waiting List is that players on any given waiting table can be waiting for different target tables, or even not waiting for another game at all. Waiting tables look like any other table in the PokerStars lobby and are free for any player to join. Your waiting table will be the same game type and stakes as your target table. If you leave your waiting table, you will be removed from the waiting list for your target table.

We understand that people who use waiting lists to hunt weaker players will not be happy with this change, but our intention is to make the online poker lobby a fairer place and to ensure the game’s ongoing health. We are confident that this will be a positive step forward for the online poker environment and will be listening to feedback and analysing how this is received as we look ahead to additional features and updates.

We hope you enjoy this new addition and, as always, have fun and please play responsibly.

When will this crap be implemented?

Reducing the max. tables to 4 already made the tables softer for recreationals since now they have to face less regs/table.

This kind of changes are not for protecting anything but for getting more profit and nothing else.

Stars never stops thinking of new ways to squeeze their costumers.

recreationals are going broke faster now because they face a regular playing 4 tables and noticing every mistake and easily reaching 10bb/100 at 50nl right now. when allowed to multi-table the regs had way lower winrates

but this waiting list system makes some sense, but not when 4tables is the max. In the long run this will hurt recreationals the most.

It was live yesterday on all dot-com skins, though I was told not at all stakes just yet. I did see some bugs with the implementation, so maybe they paused the rollout.

Presumably this wont come to Euro segregated markets or India, where the Seat Me system is in place.
