1. remove the check/call any button for NL tables. This button serves no purpose but if you accidently click it at the wrong time it could be disasterous.

2. hand history replayer similar to FTP and ABS.

3. when starting a table, make an additional button that says "wait for big blind" near the autopost blinds button, because otherwise you have to wait until the hand is over and then click wait for big blind, then click again autopost blinds when your turn comes up.
4. cashier to update in real time.

OK, fine, I'm an idiot, but I'll tell ya, I've read the scripts stuff over and over, and I'm lost at the first sentence.

Most of the kids who post here have been programing since they were eight years old so all of that stuff is a snap for them. Not so for others.

I'm lucky I can get FireFox to work. Took forever, but I got it.
Before 2+2 I knew nothing about scripts (I really still know nothing about scripts except how to turn them on, double click them) or about firefox but just reading a few threads and instructions I run a good amount of scripts, ( the ones I really need) some just dont seem to run for me but the important ones like bet pot, stars planner, reloader and stars urgents table run great for me. Just do a little research and u will figure it out and ask questions.

one thing i find is a huge problem stars needs to fix is allowing people to sit out on table for so long

i cant explain how many rude regular 1/2 players there are who just sit out on every table when they are done a session.

i think the limit is 3 orbits, could we lower it to 2 or 1 PLEASE

I play a bit on ftp for tournies but play cash on stars and one thing that they have that is far superior to stars imo that the alert sounds for ftp is a lot easier on the ears. I have to turn the time warning off in the sound settings cuz it really bothers me and if I play a lot of tables I have to turn the attention noise off cuz it bothers me hearing the noise over and over. Ftp's sounds dont bother me at all and Id like a change to these sounds or an option for different sounds like I can change the table look.

slammed - Part of the problem is that you can't leave the table right-away if you still want your VPP.

demon102 - Yeah, I hate that. The time-warning is incredibly loud compared to all the other noises. I can have the other game-sounds on a 'regular' or 'comfortable' type volume but when the 'alert' sound comes on it's WAY loud. Especially if I have my headphones on.

One awesome software improvement/solution would be to have adjustable volumes for EACH of the different types of sounds there.
I've seen this done on other sites I'm pretty sure. Maybe Prima. Can't remember.

I hate the fact that there's no volume adjustment for the site.
If I'm also playing music then I have to balance the music audio with the overall audio with the Stars audio and it's kind of tough.
For example: Stars volume is too loud. So I have to adjust the overall volume down. But I had the music volume just right before that and now it's too low so I have to try to find that right balance again.

It might sound petty. But with somewhat sensitive ears and frequently playing on head-phones it becomes an annoyance REALLY fast.
And, as I said, I really appreciate the sites I have played on that have had their own volume control.

There's also the option to change the sounds in the Stars client to one that is more pleasing on the ear.
But I'm kind of just trying to find ANY sound that is roughly the right volume to work for me. I care more about the volume of the sound than I do about the sound itself.

Option would be nice but why not change them yourself?

Bob this can be fixed - download/use Audacity to change the volume of the individual sound files.

But like card mods, you will need to change shortcuts to run pokerstars.exe and dodge updates.

PokerStars, please change pokerstarsupdate.exe to not bother checking the trivial files (such as card images and sound effects) before running an update.

And please restore the unencrypted gx.ini files - this was a nonsensical change, and reverting it would be incredible.

I noticed that I can change the file but havent messed with it yet, cuz I am not familiar with modding sound files yet.

Just google for something like chimes.wav find one you like, rename to snd7.wav or whatever and replace.
Make it read only?

you don't even need to rename it. You can just go to the lobby and have it take anything you want.
Of course, re-naming the snd7.wav file would work too.

Just use the sounds menu to change from Sound7 (Time Warning) to Sound0 (Attention). Then you get the same (tolerable) audio alert for the Time Warning,as you do for the Attention Warning.

I want a different audio-cue to let me know that I'm in 'warning' mode.
I found one in the Full Tilt sound files that might work better once I get used to it.

I would luv it if I could put the ftp sounds into the stars files, is this easy? how can I do it?

If I can do it then it is insanely easy.

stars lobby under 'options' --> Sound Settings
It makes it simple for you to directly plug in whatever sound you want.

Then you browse for each of the different sounds you would prefer.
You should go to unless you set up your FT really weird somehow.
Local Disk --> Program Files --> Full Tilt Poker --> Waves

I've seen it mentioned but I don't know how to do this.
Since I generally don't mind the updates and don't use any outside card mods it has never been necessary.

right click on stars shortcut->properties->change target to "C:\Program Files\PokerStars\PokerStars.exe" usually has "pokerstarsupdate.exe" there ->apply and ur good

Hardly play there now and didn't know you could do that.
Nice feature and thanks for posting it.

Please continue with the feedback everyone. Just to quickly address some recent points:

Quote:
PokerStars, please change pokerstarsupdate.exe to not bother checking the trivial files (such as card images and sound effects) before running an update.
These files are absolutely NOT trivial. Imagine, for example, that your flatmate decides he will play a trick on you, so he changes the image files in the PokerStars directory so that deuces look like aces, treys look like kings, and fours look like queens. Don't you think that this could cost you a lot of money?

Now imagine a virus that targets online poker programs, and does this on a much larger scale, to thousands of players. You can see why it's important that PokerStars checks the integrity of these files before it starts.

I do have 'better support for custom card mods' on the wish list, however.

Quote:

You should really only do this if you're having technical problems with the updater and have been told to make this change by our technical support team. I can't stress how important it is that you use the latest version of PokerStars where possible. If you intentionally bypass the updates and then experience technical problems, you have only yourself to blame.

One of the things I like about Windows Vista is that you can adjust the volume of individual applications really easily. I always mute MSN for example, because it drives me crazy. If this really bothers you, you might consider upgrading, or searching for an add-on program that does this for you.

Don't forget that you can also change every sound used by PokerStars to whatever you like (yes, even the Full Tilt sounds) using 'Options' > 'Sound Settings'.
