this has happened few times to me even after i reset the avatar to what i had so tilting

even tried uninstalling / reinstalling client and still the same

POKERSTARS,

Every month or two all my Pokerstars configurations erases.... I dont know ifits everytime you make a major update or what, but every semester I have to reconfigure everything again at least 3 times...

table positioning
fonts
handhistories
sounds
EVERYTHING


Is there a way to save something like a configuration file so this doesnt happen again?????????????

Hotkeys frame doesn't work well, specially on Mercury theme.

All personal configuration data is saved on user.ini file, which you should find under Program Files/Pokerstars
You can make a copy of that and use it as a backup if your configurations get lost again

For win 7 OS (and above imo) the path for working user.ini is -
C:/users/u comp name/AppData/Local/PS and copy/paste into the same folder.

That user.ini file that is in C:/Program Files/PokerStars doesnt work afaik.

OK, thanks for the correction.

I'm on Linux and the file structure is obviously somewhat different. Figured it would be the same but I was wrong. At least got the file name right

Pokerstars software crashed 2 times today while playing Spins (2tables). I did restart my computer after the first time. Never happened to me before.

I use PT4 and Starshelper. Also had Chrome opened.

What could be the problem? Really weird and annoying.

I've been going back and forth with support, freezing/crashing since the latest update. They'll insist it's your user.ini that's corrupted, my advice is just humour them and delete it when they ask. It'll take 20 mins to set up the client again (user.ini holds all your settings) but they refuse to try anything else until you comply.

Send them your log files (help section of client), it does seem to have been the latest update to blame but it's not affecting everyone, hopefully if they get more reports they'll try to do something about it. If your problem seems similar to mine mention my username (same as on here).

Are you on Win 7?

My UK client was working fine except for the obvious no avatar, table starter bug and not importing hands of certain tables. Now I try to load the client and can't even get a login box just a quick open and snap close. Tried reinstalling and deleting notes and user.ini and did not help it at all.

Messaged support they asked for .log file and I sent them.. waiting to hear back.

I am on Win 7 and i played today/yday around 2h with hm2 and 2 times ps freez and windows appear and its written that ps has to shut down. I know that trick of PS to write to u that ur user.ini files is broken, coz after some updates my ps crushed or was disconnecting and they wont blame new ps update but ur .ini file. I am sick of re doing all my settings coz i change my comps so all the time i user the same user.ini file and up to yday all is good

Yes Win 7.

Deleting user.ini did the trick?

I guess I wont play until they fix this.

I sent them my log files.
They told me to delete user.ini after closing the client.
Did that. Bug still happens. Sent new log files.
Their response:

So I can't play safely on Stars right now which means I'll have to wait it out and ask them every few days how things are going.
Support reps just have their process they go through - delete user.ini, run a virus scan, blame third party programs etc. Frustrating as hell when there's a real issue. The latest emails I got said to play without third party programs... obviously they broke something but that's not in their script.

It does seem to be Win7 players having problems, I've upgraded to Win10, hopefully that helps. Stars next client release is a few weeks away and at this point I'm not sure they're even working on a fix.

I've also been having problems with the zoom table not updating and the PS client crashing. Early last night, and again today. Had never seen this sort of thing before on PS.

Strangely, it did get better eventually last night. So I doubt it's related to user.ini, unless it automagically corrupts and fixes itself.

I'm not being able to play at all, the client keeps crashing and I have to restart it, then the lobby freezes and I can't reg or click on any tourney.

I thought it was a virus at first but I scanned the whole computed, then maybe it was the hud but it happens when it's turned off as well.

I don't know what to do anymore, Im regged on a couple of tourneys and I'm missing 80% of hands.
