I think that Pokerstars/ FTP / Whatever site should offer debit cards for anybody who has > $xxxx in their account. I think it would be a pretty useful thing for a lot of players. The card would be connected to your account and you could use it anywhere.

Obviously there is a disincentive for them since it would take money out of their moneypool. But I'd still like to know some opinions on this. I'm sure there are other problems with this as well.

Well I mean there is a number of reasons why this would be detrimental to Pokerstars business but I guess the biggest reason is that the more money they have on there site the more they earn.

This doesn't take into consideration the cost of setting this up and rolling it nor does it take into account the cost of its administration.

I agree - Pokerstars should have a debit card. Also, I shouldn't have to work for a living and girls should always be in the mood.

Full tilt has the ability to deposit and withdraw with laser card The deposit is instant, lol, and the withdraw takes 3-4 days

Poker Stars used to have a debit card actually. It was only out in beta mode for a while before it finally got shut down.

Welcome to 2008 - they had one, it didn't work, for whatever reason -the Paytru card. I loved it (in fact, I still have mine), but I guess the bank they were using was told to knock it off.

The neteller card was pretty good too.

Some of the crypto skins had them back in the day, and recently chilipoker had one that it was hyping.

Heres the problem. The same factors that make it difficult to find a reliable payment processor make it difficult to get on an ATM network. Back in the day when there were several good payment proccessors left there was no reason to have an ATM card -- alternatives like Epassporte and neteller already offered that functionality.

You cant just wake up one day and say "durf durf durf, i think id like to be able to print my own debit card"... its complicated... you have to be accepted to part of an ATM network like plus or cirrius and they have somewhat stringent requirements.

Yeah, as someone else said it was paytru, and I still have mine somewhere, not that it will be useful ever again lol.

the debit card idea sounds great but i would be real happy if they would just send regular visa gift cards as a way of withdrawal....we all have got these from cell phone providers as our form of rebate. would be nice to just get this in their system
