Pokerstars seat scripting

Was playing 50nl last night on stars, table with 1 player 80bb so I sit to the right of him. He rebuys to 100bb so seems like just a miss buy in. While we played heads up a lot of players would join the table but sit out. It must have been 12+ before we got someone to join. Was this seat scripting and if so what was they doing/ looking for?
