I was playing about five or six SnGs a few minutes ago and then a message popped up in all of the table chats.

At first it looked like a random word and it freaked me out, because I thought the site had been hacked to be honest.

Then when I looked at it properly, there was some other wording underneath, telling me to enter the word as it was part of their ongoing work to fight against people using software. So, I guess that either they think I'm a bot or they just randomly check people and my name came up.

Anyway, what's annoying is that there was a time limit and by the time I realised what I was looking at, the timer ran out and I didn't get to enter the word/pass their test.

Now I'm a bit worried that this is going to go against me.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes but I typed the word in time. Playing cash.

Captchas appear at random for everyone, but it's possible to go months without seeing one. I think the Security Dept can make them appear on suspected bot accounts on demand, so you might get sent another one if your account got flagged up as "didn't respond", but you have nothing to worry about if you have a valid explanation.
I was under the impression that all other software functions (e.g. your FOLD button) stop working if you don't type a correct response in time, but it appears that's not the case, so it seems a bit of a silly way to prevent botting if someone can just ignore the captcha and carry on. :/

Well, you would go ballistic if you couldn't play because you had to type in a random word, and you ended up folding Aces or something; being able to carry on playing makes sense.

I was multi-tabling, so it's not too surprising I was too absorbed to take notice until it was a bit late.

And yeah, I figure I should be alright, but I don't want to have to jump through more elaborate hoops.
