Shimmy - yes, some of the more complex Challenges like win with XX require further development for non-NL games. We continually try and build new functionality into our Challenges to make them more fun and engaging. The 'Beat the Clock' Challenges for Stud and Draw Week were one new type of Challenge. There are other plans that we will hopefully get implemented for later in the year, but most of these are focused on NL games.

kick1985 - The Stud and Draw leaderboard winners will be paid tomorrow (Tuesday). I understand that this delay is unacceptable and not player-friendly and I'll look into how we can make this more timely in the future.

Best regards,

Mattthew

imo the list of tournaments should be updated in general (some of those comps are pretty wdf) but figure i bring it to your attention that the $4 8max 23.45 NZT is no longer capped. not sure if that will be effecting people attaining points from the tournament but it should be changed for the sake of clarity.

@PokerStars Michael J, @PokerStars Matthew

Why does Pokerstars constantly screw over people who play PLO and who, in relative terms, pay much bigger amounts of rake compared to NLHE nits? Promotion money should be availabe to everyone who plays a lot and it shouldn´t force people to play games they hate. I´m not even asking for specific PLO promos (people have asked for those for a long time and you **** them over constantly), but you might at least try to and be fair to people who play a lot.

how about 'bad beats' or other promotions for cash games - without a rake boost... as it is at many live casinos

It's fine when there's an All in shootout. I sleep, the games are played out, I wake up and find out if I've won anything.

But I opted into this challenge for the Zoom tournament to find that it's held at 4:30am. That would be fine if I didn't have to leave for work soon afterwards, given it's on a weekday.

It sucks being unable to take advantage of a lot of promotions because of this.

Well silverstar+, chromestar+, goldstar+ freerolls and other vip freerolls are also not australian-friendly , not just for you but also for me it starts at 12-1 am for me , but we can do nothing about it. Anyway when I complete challenges, I expect to play a fair proper freeroll where I can use my skills and not depend on my luck fully. This is a poker site not a bingo site, All in shootout freerolls are crap.

No need for additional promos. Sure aren't the ****ty all-in crapshoot freerolls as good as it gets. Def no need for any additional promos for micro players. Sure aren't we all completely ******ed and don't realise just how ****ing pathetic the current promos actually are.

Zoom Accumulator Challenge:

I forgot to opt in for the 2nd challenge(win with seven-deuce) thinking that I am already opted in for all these challenges, so without opting in, I played 628 hands , was dealt 5 times 72 and won 4 times, and when I went to see my tournament tickets, I found nothing and then I realise I didn't opt in for this week's challenge and I was facepalm :/

Opting in for every challenge is necessary? I'm sure lot of players may have forgotten to opt in for 2nd week's challenge even though its clearly written in the info bar "You need to 'Start' the first challenge in each of the four qualification periods to opt-in." But since I already knew that this week we have to win with 72, I didn't care to open the challenge menu and so I forgot/didn't opt in for this challenge.

Can I still get 1000 chips receipt for hands I won even though I didn't opt in?

Got response from Support, they made an exception to me and if I provide them my hand histories of hands I won with 72, they will credit me ticket(s)

I would like to have a promotion like Battle of the Planets was before. It seems there is nothing for SnG players at the moment. At least implement leader boards like MTT ones.

We haven't run any promotions for father's day or mother's day this year, but we do have some ideas possibly for next year.

Regarding a promotional calendar, a lot of factors go into making the calendar so often difficult to announce until quite close to the time. We will have MicroMillions in July and of course WCOOP in September.

All-in Shootouts versus Freerolls. We constantly have discussions on this. There are obvious pros and cons to each. The benefit of allin shootouts is that everyone can participate, whereas a freeroll is more poker authentic requiring poker play to win.

For this month's Zoom promotion, the freerolls are great as we ask players to play in order to win, but there are downsides as well:
- Some players can't participate in the promotion as they have plans during the freeroll time period (of course we want as many players to participate as possible)
- Zoom is a cash game promotion where players then must play a tournament, a format that not all players like.
- Timing is impossible to please all across different time zones.

For PokerStars Makes Millionaires, we primarily used all-in shootouts with a small number of players playing in a freeroll. This was a mix that we might use again in the future.

We are also looking to have instant random rewards in the near future as well.

Thanks for all the input.

Matthew

I really enjoyed playing those zoom freerolls specially because it started with 10k chips(for completing 10 challenges) , I like playing tourneys which start with 10k chips and 50/100 and turbo structure like this one. If this same challenge gave us tickets to all in shootout freeroll, I would have not completed even one challenge. I would be completing a challenge for all-in shootout only if it required very minimum effort like playing a regular tourney which I already do, otherwise I wouldn't even care.

Some data I have that shows why I don't like all-in shootout freerolls:

I played 2 Zoom freerolls($250,000+$250,000=$500,000 prizepool) and I have already won $15

Played 59 all-in shootout freerolls(Aggregated prizepool - $1,645,000 from 59 freerolls) and won $19.40

I know the sample is very very tiny, but the above numbers gives me no encouragement to complete challenges that rewards me all-in shootout tickets.

I agree that having all-in shootouts allows players to play from all timezones , also you don't have to even play but you'd be losing players from either way.

Anyway, I liked zoom format, not that I played zoom tourney for the first time, but because it forced me to play a zoom tourney, and I liked the format and I looked for a zoom tournament in my playing timeslot(09:00 ET - 14:00 ET) schedule but couldn't find one I have suggested in mttc thread asking them to add one in that timeslot.

At the moment as far as I am aware there is no leader boards for 18 man games and below, even if you do not want to add prizes for the winners how about at least just provide us with access of the old style BOP leader board showing points.

What exactly is stopping you from:

a) running two separate freerolls, say one at 2pm EST aimed at euros/parts of canada and one at 10pm EST for everyone else (split something other than 50:50 dependent on market sizes if appropriate)
b) offering those who can't or won't play donkaments the option to exchange their donkament ticket for a cash game ticket at a rate below EV? So if you have $100k to give away and, say, 20,000 people eligible, offer $4 in cash tickets. Appeases those that can't make it and increases the value of the donkament

Given the issues with HU - skier's charts, sharkystrator etc. wouldn't it be better not to have HU in the Neymar challenge?

bump - this list is still out of date - are the tournaments that are listed inaccurately providing points appropriately?

I kinda like the zoom challenges, but I think they should be more focused on bad hands in order to encourage more bad play. Anyone putting in much volume at all is going to win 10 times with KK in a week with no problems.

Also, how about some lifetime challenges and badges a la unibet? These can definitely be attractive to recs and don't realistically have to cost much in rb (let's say you do 1000 total which could feasibly be completed in about a million hands or something, with a total rb value of about $4-5k). Repeat completion of some 'more difficult' ones ('bet more than the pot on the river with less than one pair') could be rewarded with some fun 'titles' (like video games have Generals and Captains etc, you could have 'Bluff Master' for bluffing a lot; 'Bluff Catcher' for calling thin in a lot of spots and being right; maybe 'casually dressed' for winning with many offsuit hands).

Party does this, with its missions. Not sure I'm convinced it really encourages recs that much (although the small cash rewards for completion do so at the micros).

I can't speak for other regions but the leaderboard they have been running as part of a VIP Live promotion in Canada is really well put together and is offering all players a realistic chance for success. The chat at the tables has been really good with lots of players making plans to meet up at the event.

I'd love to see something similar leading up to the PCA.
