If I was still playing on pokerstars, I would honestly not even bother activating it at all. Just that possible temptation you might have to play an ace in a less optimal spot to clean that challenger quicker makes it not worth it. I'd probably feel like a chump activating it anyway.

A question about the EPT Live Stream Challenges.
Well, I've looked into the Live Stream, but it's more than six hours and I won't watch all of this, is there some hint where we can find the challenge?

The point of the challenges is to reward those who watch at least a few of the streams, this is specifically why they are not revealed in the client.

Like many money players, I have read 2+2 forums for years. But I finally signed up just to express an opinion about Pokerstars.

Well, the Pokerstars neverending updates are really getting tiresome. I wouldn't mind if the improvements actually made significant useful changes. But they primarily do two things: add audio/eye candy and self-promotion.

This latest update (21938, I think it was) is terrible. It forced the lobby away from clear and simple columns into some godawful black-background thing that shows a giant flavor-of-the-week pro player on the side of the field, along with some huge ad banner on the bottom.

Worse, it seems to have destroyed all the settings that I've had for years, with no way to undo them. And resetting values from the Settings menu works -- sometimes. Disabling tournament announcements and a couple of others, however, seems to have no effect even across multiple reloads. I think a few option settings are now missing, too.

I mean, I can understand occasional updates. In the old days, some of them really made things better. But once it got bigger -- especially in V5+, it seems like updates are more frequent, longer in duration, slower to load, and filled with more nonessential crap. I mean, the guys make a zillion dollars a year from us. How much is enough? And why all this hyper self-promotion and fooling with our settings nonsense?

I was really a Pokerstars fan, and I've been with them since 2002 or so. Even so, I've already made an Excel spreadsheet with listings on rake, bonus, etc. at a few other sites. Just getting too old to waste life on foolishness. (Except the most foolish thing, which is playing poker. lol) Besides, I never did like how they didn't respond to my suggestion a few years ago about a nice method for dealing with disruptive players. I may post a thread on here about that later.

Have no idea what do you mean by that. I'm running build 22025 and the lobby is just fine. You can allso remove the bottom banner from settings - lobby - untick the Show lobby banners..

Yes. I said that disabling tournament announcements and "a couple of others" didn't seem to work. After reading your post, I unchecked and rechecked all settings, and as you can now see, the bottom banner is mostly gone. So at least trying again helped, and thank you.

I think if you choose all games instead of that quick seat it all goes back to normal.

Ach. "Quick Seat" is another of countless changes that I always ignored. After reading your reply, I looked at the image and saw that it was selected. So I logged in and simply clicked "All Games" as you suggested, and the normal lobby emerged. What a newb bungle! While PS Update did put me on the spot by resetting my preferences, I should have done more trial and error.

Looking back, it seems the rules in the UK were the same as they were previously. The comms should not have said "new, improved" etc in the UK at all. As I mentioned above this was an oversight due to it being substituted in last minute for SuitRace which was pending final approval at the time.

I posted the day the banner appeared, you responded as above, yet you continued to show that banner while the promotion ran. Only now, months later, admitting that there were no changes. Isn't that in disregard of ASA rules for gambling promotions?

CardMatch has been run in the UK on a number of occasion times. The last two occasions (including the most recent) there were increased prizes and chances to win than beforehand.

The using of the same 'bigger and better' communications was an oversight for the latter run (as it was set up as a simple re-run of the previous version), but I don't think a *particularly* egregious or misleading one, especially as the rules and prizes are displayed on the table for all players.

Point taken however.

David it wasn't eagle-eyed vigilance, it was a simple and genuine question. An answer at the time about it being a mistake would've been accepted (it was an email btw, not a banner). My issue has been what looks like an attempt to avoid providing an answer and that leads to a suspicion that things weren't quite above board.

I withdrew most of my money from amaya [ refuse to call them pokerstars, they just aren't ] after about the 70th complete lie, but I left around 500 dollars to mess around with. I prob. average 7 or 8 of the low end chests a week, and an average of about 10 coins per chest since that travesty was instituted.

That people are still engaging amaya reps in discussion baffles me, or maybe people are still hoping Renegs promise of incredible promotions is around the corner. He truly is the perfect face of that company
