Am not fond of Spins because the 2x and the royal blue background starts to tilt me really fast - so wasn't likely to participate in a Spin promo anyways, even if the promo was different ...

But my offer doesn't seem so good? Would have to play $1 spins for a $0.50 min-prize, but the odds are different for the second prize:

And then, a couple of the pieces don't seem so hard to complete - but some of the others seem to be more involved ... unless one game can count towards more than one piece?

Wonder how many games people are having to play to complete the puzzle?

It says you can complete several pieces simultaneously. So if you only have to play 9 spins that's not bad. 9*$0.08 rake is $0.72 rake for average total daily prizes of $1.50 in your case, so even a below average player can profit from this challenge. (This is different from Jacks or better where an average or below average player will always lose to rake because rake>prizes)

Oh yes, am not very good about reading fine print - that's not so bad if several pieces can be completed at the same time ... good catch!

Yes, most of the Spin promos have been a net negative for Stars, while most of the Zoom promos have been net positives. However, guess $EV can take a long time to be reached in high variance situations such as Spins where the games are very fast. And in addition to the speed, there's also variance with the prize multiplier - so in the short-term it's still possible for even winning players to not be profitable at Spins, with the abundance of the 2x multiplier? So to be profitable after only playing a few games, perhaps all players need to run good with multipliers and cards?

Like, not sure the promo bonus is sufficiently large to overcome the abundance of 2x multipliers and variance over a 10 hand sample size, most of the time? And not sure the promo bonus is sufficiently large to overcome the high rake in the long-term?

Maybe it's more accurate to say this promo is more of a bonus for people looking to gamble in hopes of getting lucky?

You're joking right?

It's like they forgot to put in a 4th or 5th tier prize and were in a rush so said only need 3... with the choice between scraps (99.9999999%) and a huge jackpot (aka lottery great reward for 1 while a waste of time for tens of thousands of players).

Not gonna convince anyone to play Spins if they're not already dping so profitably already...

I'm getting the same offer as you but whats interesting is that for 'Flipper' puzzle they are asking me to play 12 spin n gos
The rewards are very low but games will be super soft.

Edit: In the very first game I play, I hit a 6x multiplier and I finish 1st. $5 profit already without playing for rewards

LOL at peoples who says this promo is good, counting it like rakeback % from 1$ spins. Just remember days, when stars gived 50% Reloads on your deposit, you get like 300$ bucks or something... Milestone hands, for cash players, golden SNG for SNG players, these promos was good, not this peace of **** what I see at stars client.
I have big doubt that stars attract rec, with this kind of bull**** play more, rec dont care about winning 1$ too... Even in East Europe or South America...

Final piece of spinball puzzle, 'Play nine Spins' stuck at 8/9 .....

My suggestion for pokerstars is to delete the deposit limits, 740$ per day is ridicolous, just let the people deposit whatever they want, and you will see your winnings to flourish.

Maybe not after all. Unlike the previous missions promos when they clearly was stuck ing for lots people, and what made the crazy Prs jump.
Edit: What happened- While finishing the 8th spin i looked at counter and saw 8/9 so i thought it would change to 9 on end. It didnt so i 'got it'-it updates on start of a spin game not an end, so i started another one. But then, it actually takes some time to update so i was still looking at 8/9, tilting how PS is driving me around to play 2 or 3 more spins cause 'lag'...
It took a walk to groceries to decode the missleading process of -promo updating sometimes literally middle of a spingo game, if it is a quick game.
Maybe counter could be more intuitive thats all.

Please delete these two of my posts, or you will leave them to shame me , which i think will be 'working' so much more for you mods. Like, perversely please you.

So much bad energy itt, will try to refrain from adding fuel in future. Spinball promo is actually not bad (ev) at all for us 1$ buyins, as written by others...

But please leave this post whatever you do :

-If you offer watches, i would play SCOOP for like up to 1-2k$ in total buyins, until i donate a bigger portion of that little roll that is/ get bored and frustrated.
-If you dont offer watches i will save my rolls to play a few lower Wcoops if anything, if i play only for a title... take my 45$ from spins (its like 450 with how ive been running with those distributions. or more), grind some other more motivating pokers... it is just a pure stupid fetishistic psychological motivatonal thing, nothing else. Thanks for saving my money if so !

Was wondering if everybody was getting the same or different tasks And after not playing yesterday, it looks like mine have gotten easier? Pretty sure yesterday this said 'Win one'?

Congrats on the great start Anuj!! Am sure you'll do well participating in this promo Guess not sure what to expect for myself though

Went to take a look at my graphs, and have only played a handful of these lifetime, and my chip-EV graph looks *okay* ...

Spoiler:

Guess it's the $ graph that's the horrific one

Stars has made over $30 in rake - and that was back when the rake was lower ... looks like they've raised the rake at some stakes 2 to 3 times already?

Maybe not so horrible to play Spins rake-free now that they made the tasks easier for me, and so long as the variance isn't super bad? Also, dat is a pretty fancy green background

On the other hand, maybe not super great playing these either ... will have to see if am in the mood to give it a try sometime, will see

You are right that spins are very high variance and your roll probably needs to be 200-300 buyins to not risk going bust - and that's for a regular spin and go player. For the $1 spins, the rake is 8%, and if you take all the jackpots out of the equation the effective rake rises only slightly to 9%. So sure there's variance so I wouldn't play them unless you are sufficiently bankrolled. But the promotion definitely makes them +EV for the average player even with the high rake and even without the jackpots. So you can safely play them if you have enough of a bankroll to withstand some short term variance.

I hate Spin & Gos, but I'm actually really enjoying the Spinball promotion. It doesn't take too long to complete, and at least for the $1 stake, you get 1.5 buy-ins back. To me, that's a good promotion.

Jacks or Better, on the other hand, to me is an absolute joke. I don't think I have completed it in under 500 hands. Four-tabling full ring it takes over two hours to complete, for a prize that is most likely a measly 0.1 of a buy-in, or even 0.05 of a buy-in!

Comparing the two promotions, based on the odds, there is a ~95% chance I earn LESS money for the Jacks or Better promotion than I would for Spinball, for something that takes way more time, risks way more money, and costs more in rake. That's just not right (and no, that doesn't mean reduce the rewards in Spinball or make it tougher to accomplish)).

They want to push people into Spins. Jacks or Better is really bad though, I've even forgot to opt in a few times.

My buy in minimun for Jacks or Better is 50c/$1
Spinball is $7 .
Same prizes , just 48x more cost.
Have not had a bonus offer for ages .
Casino poker has killed Sit & Go,s and Rebuys used to be raked on the buy in , now raked ever rebuy and add on .
Wata a Joke

Milestone hands and golden sngs were horrible promotions. I never got anything from them, from these I at least get a little something. But I do think they should have added some more reward tiers.

Milestones were great even if you didn't win! They always encouraged me to play a lot more (thanks to the ticker in the lobby). The games were great for the duration of the promotion and fish got excited by it (plenty of them chatting about it).

They also had the effect of making table hopping slightly less prevalent at smaller stakes games, the prizes increased with hands played at that table so more regs were willing to keep a table going. This point probably wouldn't apply today but it was nice at the time not to be buttoned so much.

They ran it once in the not so distant past (2015 Xmas?) but prizes had been slashed so it wasn't all that exciting.
