Here we can discuss anything related to PokerStars Promotions(regional or non-regional) , if you have any ideas to make, suggestions, your opinions - all can be discussed here.

Some Ideas/Suggestions I have:

1) Represent your Country (Team Play Tournaments) - It always feels great to represent your country and it would be really great if we can represent our country at PokerStars. I know there exists World Cup of Poker, but it's a play money tournament and the final is a live tournament. It would be nice to see an online world cup of poker held yearly. Format can be something like: Players can choose any country from list of 40 countries(top 40 countries with most players on PS which can also include USA) , and the team points/score will be based on the avg position of its players. 50% of the prizepool will go to individual players and remaining 50% of the prizepool will go the winning team.

2) Battle of the Sexes (Men vs Women) - I have seen lot of women players showing interest in poker lately and most of them play very aggressively and they are known to be risk-takers and it would be nice to see them giving tough competition to men. All the men players will be labeled as blue and all the female players be labeled as pink and 96 random players will be chosen from pre-registered players of each genders to make it fairer to both genders and will battle against players from their own genders and the winner from both the gender will play a Heads up. Format can be like: 8max - No late-registration - Shootout - Winners from both of their genders will play a HU.
60% of the prizepool will go to individual players, 40% of the prizepool will go to players of the gender who wins.

3) Monthly Red 500 FPP or 1000 FPP Tournament where the prizes paid can be anything from poker accessories to clothing, customisable items, electronics including apple ipad air and stuffs like that that are included in vip store.

^These are my ideas - doesn't have to be exact the way I mentioned , but it would be nice to see a team play tournament, men vs women tournament, a red fpp tournament with prizes included in vip store.

Some Promotions that needs to be back:

1) Discounted/Half Price on Sunday major tourneys

2) Set your VIP Goals/or Reload Bonus for all type of players

3) Knockout week/Mixed Game Week/Omaha Week/Hyper Turbo Week etc

4) Regional Online Poker Series(Fri-Sun) - Like Asia Online Poker Series, America Online Poker Series, European Online Poker Series, etc all series running during the same period and only accessible to players from those countries ofc and doesn't have to be a week long, it can start from Friday and end on Sunday.

^ These are the promotions I really enjoyed but please get rid of your daily challenges/mission weeks/ all in shootouts - they really suck as you have very very low chance to win and honestly after completing few challenges and getting nothing out of it, I feel very discouraged to complete remaining challenges and I'm sure many others feel that too.

I want to see way more promotions then now!

Like every 2-3 months relaod bonus and for every micro and small stake game where the rake is high on average to have specific promos.

Way more tickets to sporting events/special events. I want to go to a UFC event and I want to be able to win it online.

Since this thread is related to promos I gotta say today to Stars after a pleasant surprise during my lunch hour...



Thank you SO MUCH for this current Stud & Draw promo! I have not seen this many tables of Razz going in FOREVER -- and with action more "generous" than FTP ever was at its juiciest I care less about making any serious $ in the freerolls or even at the tables (I am only rolled for .04/.08 right now, of course #ironicTiming ) BUT I ham having SMILE-INDUCING FUN at the cash tables for the first time in many years! 4-tabling Full-seated cash game that is not PLO or NLHE on my Android mobile phone? Never thought I'd see the day! ^_^


Idealist in me is hoping that maybe at these limit Stud tables all those break-even regs and no-chance NL donks playing this week to qualify for a freeroll MIGHT ACTUALLY DISCOVER how much fun the GAME of poker can STILL be (curse you, 10% vpip HUDbots!), and will even become HORSE converts... #dareToDream

I miss Battle of the planets Promotion, I understand you exchanged this for such promotions as Golden SNGs but BOP held a sense of pride, competition and a personal challenge to try hit a top spot or beat your previous score.
At the moment as far as I am aware there is no leader boards for 18 man games and below, even if you do not want to add prizes for the winners how about at least just provide us with access of the old style BOP leader board showing points.

In my opinion it would have been better to offer random give aways of prices in the cash games, or some milestones to reach in the stud or draw games. As it stands at this moment you need to win >400 hands. With 120 hands/hour you need to play 2 tables for 10 hours to earn $15. Not very rec friendly.

Good Stud/Draw promo imo. Hadn't played any Stud variants in a long time, apart from the slight confusion of why I was getting so much action with my trips on board (it was a Razz table) it was fun!

Would love to see something similar running all the time. Could rotate between all the different games (that aren't NLHE/PLO) and include some SnG formats too.

Not a fan of the shootout tickets for every promo but maybe they're more popular with recs. I like the idea of random giveaways (similar to milestone hands but small prizes), would probably increase traffic further too (instead of people playing their 100 hands then going back to their regular game).

Giveaways in tourneys, cash table giveaways(like during milestone hands), golden sngs - I always loved these promotions and these promotions are loved by both regs and recs unlike your 'all in shootout freerolls' only loved by the recs

re: original question, anything that improved non-NLHE traffic would be a good idea, although i'm not returning to stars or online poker personally any time soon because of the state of the industry

Mixed community card games. Other forms are noneconomical and inferior. Add pineapple, pl hi, no discards, being in between nlh and plo, and played so. 5 card omaha is useless. Plo8 in the pack is okay but should not be but in the other pack as we want mainly plo and nlh and pineapple naturally connecting them. Limit forms can be only as well as mixed w pl, nl. But the main focus is big bet from nlh to plo, and if players are not already popularly playing both as mixed, something is badly wrong considering how popular they are and how much easier it would be to add forms in mixed games instead.

That is all we play and currently there is no such popularity, not even mixed nlh and plo, that are the only forms we play and would like them to be a ton more popular for more than just for obvious reasons.

Add tables like in party that one can only two table max.

And that is about all we need to be happy for now.

Not exactly being too happy to play vs. one game experts when playing both plo and nlh and often at the same time. Would give one form bots and colluders also something to think about, more so when just two tabling.

Very very nice to see a $250,000 freeroll instead of that crappy all in shootout freeroll, zoom accumulator promotion looks good, I'll be completing all the challenges for '1000 chips' stack

i think they should do a promotion of software working week. for this week the software will actually work instead of lagging for ****ing ages and been glitchy etc.

Make the promotion with the Bigger (1.5x gtd prizepool) dailies on saturday and the Biggest (2x gtd) on sunday a permanent thing.

I see that and it's a nice promo but pretty hard to win. I wish Stars would try this some more and break it into regions. So if the fights were in say Adelaide only players from Australia can take part. I think most fight fans would just be happy with a pair of tickets and don't need all the extra frills. With about 8 UFC's in Brazil, and 3 in Canada, Australia, Asia, UK, Europe per year there's certainly enough events to get some traction. It might be a better fit for Full Tilt but could work well enough with Stars.

if there is a promotion that awards tickets to an australian UFC event in the future, please do not restrict it to just australia (include nz/pacific etc at least)

How about some of the "Challenges" involve games other than NLH? Or will that require significant dev work?

Lets get the software working properly before we start worrying about promotions and ways to get more people on the site so it lags and malfunctions even more than it does now with 45-60k players on it.

Well they just ran challenges for stud and draw players. So hopefully we will get more of that in the future.

Yeah I meant more with the individual hand challenges, for example "win with pocket aces", "win with 72o" translated to PLO or other games somehow.
