Pretty unexciting promo if you ask me. But maybe the overlay was more significant than I was guessing....in which case...Not Bad!!

Interesting that $50 entry isn't listed as 46+4 or anything like that. I couldn't immediately find the tourney take on the buyin. No idea how many points you get.
Was it previously a 93+7 that is now a 43+7? That would be quite the rip off. I doubt they did that but they aren't really clear.
You can see buyin details in the structure tab on the desktop client. It was a $45.5+$4.5.... and I binked off 2nd

Mine was 57,450 but has climbed up to 71,640 after getting ~3 black chests. Is that going to keep going up? Stay here for a while?

Is there any PA discord yet?

Thanks for info on where to find the structure. Impressive score!

Bohemia, They seem to base your requirements on your success at the tables. Winning players have to get more points. I'm not sure the black chests go higher than 71k though. I never made it above 57.4k points requirement for a few dozen consecutive chests. My winrate isn't so hot which I assume is the reason why.

Hi all, I'm a new Pokerstars PA player. Been playing a lot of 50nl over the past few days. Who are the good regs and more average regs at this stake? The games seem soft and definitely beatable.

I mostly play in the afternoon and here are a few regs I've seen a lot of thus far: MiltonBradley, Tony_DPM, tilamos, FlipForStacks1, Pagan4991, pavboi18, among others.

Thanks! GL everyone.

There’s also Johntozz but he plays up to 1/2. I play in the morning under Ragnaros0. There are a few other solid guys at 50NL. A lot of the guys you mention also play a lot of 100NL. Vond is also pretty solid.

What’s your sn?

Entire site is still barebones, no zoom or much else but makes sense due to the small player base, it’s new and the fact that there no competition in pa yet.

Mine just switched a couple of days ago too. Haven't opened the first one yet. Was at 57k for last couple months paying at least $5k/mo in rake.

The rake is getting tough to beat. I am trying to decide if a switch to ACR is in order just to be able to recoup ~27% of whatever is it they offer. ACR games def tough IMO tho.

Probably say it depends on your games. I found the .10/.25 and .25/.50 on ACR to be ridiculously difficult. Feel like it has to be bots or a bunch of Upswing GTO players making life really hard (I also didn't play that many hands). I only have about 20k hands logged and .15/.30 and .25/.50 on PA Stars but the player pool seems way worse and the tournament players up to the $100 MTTs are pretty bad. Don't know how much a few points of rack back are worth for much harder games.

ACR is also sketchy as ****, had so many tournament entries just totally crash.

ThxBearl, I think you mean 7% and not 0.7%. Yes, it definitely sucks. Tired of paying $500 in a single day to play on their site...and getting $40 back in "rewards." Ultimately, they are just destroying their own games and practically begging players to leave when better options become slightly more realistic. I would love to stay at Stars with a more favorable rake/rakeback structure. Anything even remotely reasonable and I can see myself staying.

However...

I'm reading that PartyPoker is expected to open in PA in late summer or early fall. Better rakeback opportunities there of course. A bit worried about the overall player pool being divided but not much we can do. Eventually, PA will end up joining the NJ/NV coalition and the player pools will be combined although I'm actually not convinced this will be a good thing. Maybe. We might have to wait another year or more for that to happen for all I know but I do think eventually we get there.

Man $500 a day is crazy. I could see a mass exodus if PartyPoker is smart about their reward structure, which would likely lead to both sites being a bit thin in game selection. I play mostly 50NL so right now there is no shortage in table selection. I don't know how I would feel about merging with NJ and NV. I suppose there are pros and cons like anything. Good luck out there.

To clarify, $500/day is a lot for me but I do hit that sometimes.
I see the other thread on here offering rakeback at Party and I assume there would be opportunities and offers in the Pennsylvania setup. Maybe that is wrong. Even a small percentage of better rakeback/rewards can be significant. $100 extra in a day or $1000 or more in a month.
Very clearly I'm willing to pay a premium for the opportunity to play on a site as that is what I'm already doing. And I understand "the rake is too high" is nothing new and is such a tired conversation. But man, 10%'ish in rewards/rakeback is so lame.

Final point: Does PokerStars advertise at all in PA on radio or TV? I haven't seen any ads outside facebook ads and website cookies but I'm not watching the TV sports channels these days either. Still kind of surprising compared to the bombardment of ads for the sports betting sites.
Such a huge opportunity for more business via heightened awareness. Especially with sports betting opportunities and interest lagging the last few months.
Wonder what the Party advertising plan will be.

yeah, i suspect a merger of NV and NJ player pools would hurt PA games and help those other states so im hoping they arent in a rush to combine

No thank you to merging pools. Opens up PA to deader markets w more pros and NV bans use of huds. Seems like a terrible option.

Ill be signing up for party first day it launches now that paying $710 per chest

A few thoughts:

1) Yeah, no HUDs if we merge with NV, which I wouldn't love. Even moreso though, I just want to be able to use a tracker. Mainly because I like seeing how much below All-in EV I'm running (currently 9.5 BI below at 100NL ).

2) On that note, trackers with no HUDs seems like exactly what will be the case at party when they launch, since they've banned HUDs but allow downloading of hand histories. I think you have to specifically request them after every session which is gonna remind me of when I used to play on Bovada.

3) I think PokerStars is shut out of NV, isn't it? So at least as far as PokerStars is concerned, we could only merge with NJ, and we'd still have our HUDs there.

Is there any hope for me running more than 4 tables? I have a brand new MacBook Air with upgraded ram, I’ve turned all the graphics and animations down to nothing and PS absolutely shits the bed once a 5th table is open or if I open the hand replayer.

I know I am beating a dead horse here but just have to say it...

Nothing like wrapping up a session of getting smashed only to open a chest(diamond) and get 250 star coin and a 10$ casino credit that needs to be rolled over like 100x (black jack) in order to turn it into real money.
