Starting this thread for all things PokerStars for PA only. I guess there isn't a rep yet to monitor an official 22 thread so figured I'll throw this out there

I am happy to see explicitly legal online poker again. Being able to deposit w PayPal and withdraw with zero issues is awesome. What sucks is that the site has, as expected, not much traffic, but I'll take what I can get...

The Rewards Store seems lame. There's basically nothing there. I have no idea what the effective rakeback is if u max out value on teh #StarzCoinz, but it's pretty obvious it's not much. I haven't paid attention to the rake either, but I'm guessing it's high. Just out here stackin fools and chasin bigger #CHESTS...

I'm shocked to see the interface is actually not as good as the PokerStars that left me cold and lonely on Black Friday. How in the flying karate **** is that possible? It's 2019...dafuq? Why can't the tables dock to the corners of my screen? I have OCD I can't take this ****! But I digress...

There are quite a few things missing, inconsistencies, and that don't make sense, but I figure this would be the thread to point them out and maybe PS will take notice. Maybe eventually we'll get a rep and an official thread. Anyway, I'll post later to point out stuff I notice, like, and don't like, but just wanted to start a thread for the 7 people on 22 from PA...

May your cards be live and pots be monsters. Or something. Is that guy still alive?

Signing a lease on 12/15 in PA. Are HUDs currently working on PS in PA?

Rented an Airbnb for one weekend during the PACOOP. Looking forward to playing on again on Stars.

Thanks Teflon, been meaning to start this thread for a while. As other sites come online, we'll likely make this thread the containment for all of them (or create something new and close this one), as we do for other states.

Also, if at some point someone wants to put together the basic information for the first post, we can edit it in, like we did here:

Thanks for starting thread.

Anyone know how to get location verified on a Mac running Catalina?

The PokerStars NJ rep is - or used to be - active in that thread.
Will there be a PA rep here as well?

1970 players currently on the site. Did anyone see it hit over 2k yet?

Edit: on my last post in NVG there are some bonus codes and PACOOP info if anyone wants to add this info to the original post.

This is awesome. Still kind of a ways away from the days of having 100k players online, but i think we probably dont need that many anyways.

If you happen to see this in time, im curious how many,8 game mix and stud games are going with that many people on line?

I asked someone a similar question a few weeks ago, so, sorry, im just excited and not in PA.

This software is bs. I log in a computer, I get a “transfer session message”. Error. Log in on iPad and “transfer session” window pops up. Then error.

TeflonDawg

As someone who was on PS on Black Friday, and has been on it ever since, can I just point out that the PS you left does not exist, and the one you are now back on is a totally different beast...as your OP kinda hints at. I won't bang on about it because I (and others) have already done that in the other thread and I've no wish to rain on anybody's parade...just to help it bit if I can.

Be prepared for a different experience, that is all...hopefully your playing pool will atone for some of the less "desirable" evolution's that are PS in 2019.

+1 to that -- though like the OP, I haven't been able to play at PS since the old days. Either way though, it's a good, solid company with one of the strongest business models in the market, their support is solid, and they have better software than the other sites US residents can play imo by a mile ... or by 10 miles.

No doubt, this was disappointing to me too. But I'll take what I can get.

Dude, I don't know where you've been playing, but Bodog is anonymous and thus it makes a HUD a LOT less useful, and you can't mod their software at all; WPN/ARC is a bot-infested s**t show nightmare in a million ways; and Chico has a sad amount of traffic. As for table placement, I'd recommend TableTamer which actually works at a ton of sites. As some with a touch of OCD as well, I hear ya about wanting your tables just so.

Anyone know why this keeps happening to me?

I talked to "Kevin" with live chat but he spoke broken English and had no suggestions.

When I had similar issues on my sportsbook account in PA, I needed a wifi adapter for my computer. Found this link to be very helpful, since I really didn't know much about geolocation at the time.

^^ It's in the link/post above which is dead good btw (taught me stuff) but from discussions in the NVG this seems to be the commonest problem...

"Make sure your WiFi is on. You don’t have to be connected to a wireless network, but your WiFi must be on for the geolocation technology to find you. Users of desktop computers not equipped with a WiFi adapter will need to obtain a USB WiFi adapter."

It's a bug on Stars end, I have tried everything they suggest including some ideas of my own (basic stuff) and I can't play on my Mac. I can play on my iPad and on my iPhone, but not on my Mac.

I have over 15 networks available in my wifi, which is on. I have tried restarting, tried uninstalling and reinstall, I've tried everything support suggests and......nope.

It's a bit frustrating that the Find my Phone option on my iPhone can pinpoint the location of my Mac and pretty much knows what room I'm in in my house, but the Stars software can't tell I'm even in the state.

Still, just happy to be playing. I do wish they would figure this out because running Bootcamp and Windows is really gonna be my absolute last resort.

Anyone else having issues with using a hud( specifically HM2) on stars? I'll play a session and my HUD will never appear. As soon as I quit the table and the popup menu asks me to confirm I want to quit, the HUD appears in the popup menu.

Can't seem to get it to work normally and actually track hands during a session.

To verify your identity. You want to play in a regulated market then well you have rules you have to follow as part of this regulation.

it means that they cannot automatically verify your information. If they're asking for your Social Security card or W-9 that either means that the issue is verifying your SS# or they send that out in all cases where they cannot verify a player.

Until they can verify who you are, they will not let you open your account. If their automated systems cannot do it, they do it manually but that means you have to supply the documents for them to verify.

Send them the documents and they will open your account once they can verify your information. Or don't and you cannot play on the site.

No thanks. I'll stick to playing live. Thats kinda shady. Basically they can steal your identity.

I work for an online casino (not Stars, not in PA).

First of all, in theory you already told them your information (unless you put in the wrong stuff accidentally or intentionally, which would explain why you couldn't be verified) so sending them docs doesn't leave you any more susceptible to identity theft than you would have been without sending in docs.

Second of all, you need to provide ID and in many cases will be asked for a social security number at brick & mortar casinos. The same information Stars wants to verify.

Third of all, them not allowing you to open up an account that is not verified actually protects you FROM identity theft. It ensures that nobody is opening an account in your name. Online casinos have a lot of regulations to follow and keeping your information and account safe are high on that list.

Feel free to not play at Stars but your reasoning is completely flawed.

Only gave them my last 4 of my SSN. Which is what they asked for.

The casino I work for only asks for the last four as well because the automatic systems we have in place can figure out the rest of it from that and your name and address.

If it cannot, it will ask for all nine at my casino. Not sure how they do it.

Only if that continues to fail do we ask for docs.

But make no mistake, they know your whole social security number and verified it as accurate or they do not let you open the account. This is true in any licensed casino in any of the states that have online gaming.
