Will NJ players be able to transfer $$ from themselves to ROW players and vice versa? i.e. for staking, pokermarket, etc.?

During the soft launch, what if you have a tournament that runs past midnight on 16 and 17? Does it just shut down?
03-14-2016 , 01:57 PM
We are hosting a couple VIP Meet & Greets this weekend for former PokerStars VIPs in NJ. We've invited players with a certain number of Lifetime VPPs or more, but if there is someone in this thread that has an active PokerStars play history and is interested in attending, send me a PM. Unless there is greater response than expected to the invitation (there is limited capacity), it shouldn't be a problem adding you to the list. Also, if you had relocated your account post-April 2011, you wouldn't have been invited due to no longer have an NJ address, but if you're in the area and have been active, PM me and we'll deal you in.

The Meet & Greets are Friday early-evening in Jersey City, and Saturday afternoon at Landshark at Resorts. Lee Jones and Scott from PokerStars Senior Management will be hosting, along with members of our Game Integrity team in NJ. Jason Somerville will be on hand for the Friday event in Jersey City, and Jennifer Shahade for the Saturday event at Resorts.

The events are in a casual setting with the goal of meeting with our former New Jersey VIPs and getting feedback on any topics or concerns you may have. We can also help answer questions you may have about our upcoming launch. Just to avoid confusion and manage expectations, these aren't VIP parties...that comes later!

Thanks,
Dylan

please pass it along to the relevant teams... nj needs better micro mtt offerings for the recs and those that are cheap or those simply on a restricted budget.

party had it right when they offered the pokerfest (micro tourney buy in series) but then they dumped it. i know so many people who enjoy playing online for small buy ins but cant stand the software/dont trust the sites so they wont go bigger. as long as the guarantees are met (if any ) and the extra operating cost of running them is realistic it really does generate more traffic and potential interest in playing more and for bigger from the average joe. i never understood why the other sites never got this. especially in a limited market where so many wont play big consistently.

Heads up tournaments and 4 player heads up sng's please.

Look forward to playing on stars again!

the main reason so many of us former stars players play on Bovada now instead of the legal us sites is the legal sites offer such limited menus. no Double or nothing sngs, no 5 card PLO8, etc. just the same boring offerings in the live pokerrooms.

will u fix this Dylan?

P.s. its refusing to let me update my address. tells me to contact support when trying to update it. it let me login to my pokerstars.net acct.

hey Dylan really looking forward to PokerStars being back in NJ. Does Stars plan on heavily advertising the fact that legal and regulated poker is back? most people in this state don't know they can safely play online poker.

Pretty sure they used to run WSOP qualifiers all the time.

copy and paste of email i got regarding first time deposit bonuses for anyone else that was curious.

Hello Joe Mcfakename,

Thank you for contacting PokerStars.

We are currently conducting an interim testing for starting operations in the State of New Jersey. The launch is planned for March 21 and all the promotions should be available from this date.

PokerStars will give you a 100% bonus up to $600. The code for this bonus is STARS600 and needs to be entered in the PokerStars Cashier when you make your first deposit. Plus from that point you will have 60 days to make 2 additional deposits using the same code to take full advantage of the bonus, granted of course you have not already claimed the maximum bonus of $600.

To earn this bonus, you will simply need to play on PokerStars and collect VIP Player Points (VPPs) in order to release the money. Please remember that each installment of this bonus expires 120 days after you make your deposit, and that you must earn the required VPPs before the 120 days have passed.

The bonus will be released at the rate of $10 for every 100 VPPs earned.

For example, if you deposit $100, you will be able to receive 10 credits of $10 each. You will need to earn 1,000 VPPs within 4 months of making your deposit to release the full $100 bonus.

For information on earning VPPs, please visit the VIP Club → Earning Points section in the PokerStars.

To check your bonus status, open the Cashier from the PokerStars lobby and click on “Bonus Status”.

In addition to the 100% cash, this bonus will also grant you 1 million play money chips and a ticket valid for 60 days to play in any $5,000 Depositor Freeroll. This tournament runs on the last Sunday of every month at 18:00 ET.

You may find all the bonus details in our website, under "Special Offers". Keep in mind that if you cash out during the bonus period, all deposits made after that will not be eligible for this bonus.

Should you require any further assistance, please feel free to contact us again. We are here 24/7 for your support.

Regards,

Antonio

With sooo many years to prepare, how come everything seems so last minute?
It may seem last minute, but I assure you it's not. The day Amaya bought PS a few years ago they set their sites on US entry. By far the biggest market lies here in the US, you have to imagine they have been thinking about this day for a long time. I understand it is only one state, but it is a definite positive step. I'm from PA, the bill will pass in June for us and I look forward to our future compact together.

Idk how many active accounts there were in New Jersey prior to black friday. But they still have all of those accounts on file so maybe just send out an email for starters. Something like "hey...we're back"

My colleagues making the tournament schedule and ring game offerings are monitoring this thread, so your feedback will be considered.

I can't share any details of our advertising strategy, but there is a plan to attract new players to PokerStars NJ.

Thanks,
Dylan

Regarding First Deposit Offers, to clarify the email from a couple posts above, there will be two options for your First Deposit Offer: the one mentioned above which has play-through requirements, and another that we expect will be more appealing for casual players without play-through requirements (but for a smaller amount).

These will both be available at launch and you'll be able to select which bonus you prefer by using the appropriate deposit code. Full details will be available from the testing period launch tomorrow in the 'Special Offers' section of the PokerStars NJ website.

Thanks,
Dylan

That is an attractive first-deposit offer. Will it be available to existing players, under either Quick Account Creation or by creating a new PSNJ account?
03-15-2016 , 10:40 AM
For the complete electronic account verification what information will players be required to send in that is not covered in the sign up process?

Will be available to all players from March 16, including those who previously held a PokerStars account and take the Quick Account Creation route.

Thanks,
Dylan

PLEASE run multiple omaha hi/lo tournaments, daily. 888 offers 1 o8 tourney and it is NO LIMIT. How ridiculous is that?!?! Borgata runs 1 o8 tourney a day as well, at 11:45PM at night. Again, ridiculous! Infact during Borgata's entire series they ran this month, they offered 1 o8 tourney ($75 buy-in) for the entire series and it crushed the GTD!!! WSOP has their mini series going on right now and not 1 single o8 tourney. Trust me, run some omaha hi/lo GTD tourneys between 4pm-10pm est and pokerstars will benefit.
03-15-2016 , 03:21 PM
Wow you guys solved why NJ has been so small. There is no 8 game or any O8 tourneys. Please stars add these and people will flock in.

Your contribution to this thread; spreading misinformation.

I would welcome these, as well. I'm always surprised when I see one listed.

They're a nice break from the NLHE grind.

The testing period is limited to 500 concurrent players. If there are more than 500 players (which would be a good problem to have), you would receive a message informing you that you can't log-in at this time.

The testing period schedule is as follows:

March 16/17: 16:00-Midnight ET (8 hours)
March 18: 08:00-Midnight ET (16 hours)
March 19/20: Play available 24 hours a day

Assuming all goes smoothly, the 500 player cap is lifted and we are fully launched for play 24 hrs/day from March 21 forward.

Thanks,
Dylan
