Dylan,
It seems like each user of Pokerstars NJ has drawn their own conclusion, and it seems like that conclusion is "Pokerstars chest program is so bad that i would rather use the antiquated WSOP.com software than receive such a dramatic reduction in rakeback."

Play on pstars NJ has dropped drastically, and i would know the almost COMPLETE disappearance of PLO regs. there are no virtually no games at all.

You've completely destroyed your own economic ecosystem.

Amaya & Pokerstars are a great business lesson in how greed and unrealistic expectations can destroy even the strongest consumer franchise.

What a complete and utter disgrace.

-The majority of the NJ playerbase will be receiving more with Stars Rewards than the previous VIP Club. This is especially true if they play more than just poker (Sports or Casino). If you are a higher-volume winning poker player, you'll be getting less and I appreciate the above isn't much consolation if you're in this group. It's worth noting that when you first join Stars Rewards, you start on the lowest Chest level (red Chest) but as you move up Chest levels, your rewards on average increase. So it may take a week or two until you get to the Chest level that's indicative of your volume of play.

-As others in the thread have noted, we don't advertise rakeback percentages; that's because Stars Rewards isn't a traditional rakeback program. It's designed to allocate rewards based on your profile which includes criteria such as net deposits and the types of games you play. So one player to the next may be receiving a different amount of rewards depending on their profile. The rewards themselves are personalised to be relevant to the games that you play. For example MTT players will receive primarily Tournament Tickets & Tournament Money, a sports-bettor will receive mostly Free Bets, and so forth, as well as everyone receiving a mix of StarsCoin & cash.

-What we've seen with Stars Rewards in the ROW is that there is a high-level of engagement with the program and players open their Chests and use the rewards inside at a rate that exceeded our highest expectations. Again, I appreciate that most in this thread would probably prefer a traditional rakeback program, but our learnings with Stars Rewards have been that most of our players, who are primarily casual players, want a loyalty program that rewards all of their activity, is easy to understand, gives rewards relevant to them, and offers the chance to win something meaningful. Stars Rewards aims to address these points.

That being said, we'll be monitoring the program closely and will make changes and adjustments as needed for the New Jersey market. Feedback & suggestions are always appreciated and I'll continue to monitor this thread.

Thanks,
Dylan

Not that I'm complaining, but I got a couple of 20 coin red chests over the last week. I don't even see $0.20 coins at any level on the graphic. Did the numbers change? And no, I'm sure they were regular chests and not the X-Mas bonus ones.
12-12-2018 , 07:31 PM
so 10BB/100? is that right? 0.05 cents per hand $5/100 hands so at .50/bb its 10BB/100?

Anyone else have their rewards chest bugging out since yesterday?
12-21-2018 , 11:59 AM
Just stopping in to say that the new rewards system seems like a horribly confusing mess, cash grab and just seems awful for the players. Even if you're saying it has more rewards for most players, it appears that they don't perceive that to be true. I don't know a single player in NJ who likes the change.

Carry on.

Very bizarre thing happening that's never occurred for me on the NJ sites before--when I attempt to play on my Macbook, the geolocation services refuse to verify that I'm in NJ, but when I play on my Windows desktop, everything is fine.

Does anybody know what might be happening?

Your macbook could have some sort of blocked program like Teamviewer running in the background.

Could not find any threads on this, when is PokerStars coming to PA?

Nah, I checked that through Activity Monitor as well--nothing running in the background. It's bizarre, since my old Macbook worked fine, but ever since I bought this new one it refuses to geolocate me.

Customer service was less than helpful, just replying to me with copy-pasted responses (one even told me that I need to have WiFi turned on, as if that isn't obvious).

It's fine since I typically play on my desktop anyway, but it makes me scared that the software will randomly disconnect me when I'm at a final table or something.

what wifi hardware connection you using to connect on laptop versus desktop? All these sites are really wonky on the hardware side

The same for both--an Apple Airport Extreme router. Which is why it's so strange that one works perfectly for me and the other doesn't.

Hello all,

I have been having problems with the pokerstars software and geolocation. For some reason, when I open the software, I receive a message stating that they can't verify my location. When I go to pokerstarsnj.com and log in, I am prompted to download and install a geolocation update. After the install, I receive another message moments later saying I can't be located. I am located in central new jersey, so borders are not an issue.

I have gone to Stars support for help and to say it was a less than satisfactory experience would be an understatement. I live in a townhouse community and my computer is picking up 20 wifi signals with 6-10 of them being strong. The Stars support tech told me that all of new jersey uses the same software for geolocation so it must be my issue. To test, I downloaded 888 poker and was geolocated within seconds on numerous attempts and was able to play.

While trying to troubleshoot the problem myself, I noticed that the geolocation install that I was being prompted to download was saving to my "my downloads" folder as a .exe file. In a last dich effort, I moved this file into the pokerstars program folder, but it did not help.

I am here for help and to see if anyone had any issues with this, since there isn't much troubleshooting help on the internet. Can someone tell me if this geolocation update is either not installing or is located in the wrong place? Maybe pokerstars software itself is not downloading properly? I have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times and not noticed a difference. I am on windows 10. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

To add to this, I have recently downloaded 888 Poker and PartyPoker, and both have no problem geolocating me. Any idea why it's not working with pokerstars?

Last March a few days after my brother made an account when he was legally able to, every single account in our family was banned from PokerStars NJ. Their reason was having "reason to believe that one person controlled each account.". If PokerStars wants, I can have every member of my family verify that is not the case. In fact, two of us played far more than two others, and we were rarely even in the same tournaments. Being banned from PokerStars has also prevented us from being able to use BetStars.

It is simply not true that only one member of my family controlled every account, and I would appreciate it if someone higher up at PokerStars would review this and reinstate our accounts. Being banned for the rest of my natural life from using anything related to your company is extremely draconian, especially considering I actually did not do anything wrong in this case, and the reason I was given for the ban is simply false.

All efforts through the PS support email have failed.

I would appreciate your help. Thank you.

If you had multiple accounts on the same computers, you may be out of luck. I can't imagine they'll be happy about the same router either. You may try affidavits from each account holder, but short of that, do you really think that PokerStars should take a chance in this sitch?

We have accounts on almost every gambling operation in NJ, and have never had this specific problem or accusation on ANY of the others.

Anyone notice all the tournament guarantees are slowlllllyyyy disappearing? All tournament guarantees have been going down and down over the past few months and makes these tourneys just not worth it. Seems like its true that PSNJ doesn't give a ****

Why do you think this matters at all?

Because what we were accused of isn't even true! Do you know how upsetting it is to be punished for something you aren't even guilty of?
