Ohhhhh...okay, thanks. Would have never thought to try something like that. Great catch.

I was told to post here. So I went to Atlantic city last week to casino hop and made 2 deposits on stars while I was there. I ran my funds up a decent amount and went to cash out and then it would not me play with the remaining funds on the account. They told me no worries need to send proof of who I am for security I send in id and they ask for a bank statement but I have none since I wasn't at home atm. I tried sending a picture of one from my email they declined. Then they said they also need a picture of the card I deposited with and a statement with the card. It's a PayPal prepaid card. I sent them the picture of the card and a statement that shows the deposits I made. They said since it did not show the card number on the statement they can not verify. These emails whent back and forth for over a day at least 20 emails back and forth of me sending legit documents. Then after a while they said they will send this case to the supervisor to see if I can send in anything else since they can't accept the card statement. Now it's been 2 days and no response back from anyone. I emailed a few more times asking for an update, and nothing. I don't get it I should have had to send all this card Info in before I deposited with the card. It's not a stolen card or anything it has my name on it. I sent a picture of it and the statement and still am getting the run around. This is ridiculous. I just left Atlantic city a couple hours ago and am pretty mad I didn't get my money. Does anyone else have this experience?

I thought it was supposed to be 24/7 support. I haven't received an update in 3 days

Got to actually try this for the first time tonight because, of course, tables still aren't loading. Worked perfectly. Thanks again and great find. You should get the money they're paying to support.

I got it from a Stars rep in the software thread ages ago.

This is kind of a serious question: are we being trolled by Stars with a Card Hunt promo that pays out 20 cents 55% of the time and $1 or less 98.9% of the time. This is actually having the reverse effect and irritating enough that I'm cutting sessions shorter.

its definitely pretty baffling how dog**** most of these NJ operators are with their promotions... seems like only WSOP puts any effort (even if its slight) into actually having promotions in the first place

like i understand that these sites want to make money but they haven't put any actual effort into attracting new players...

This is a brand new payout scale. The previous Card Hunt promos have actually been worthwhile. Guess it was just unexpected. So far, all of the promos seem to be asking for more and/or paying out less this new year.

Looks like NJSCOOP is in April this year, per the poker client.

April 14th-30th

im in the us now and downloaded the starsnj client and have few questions

1. Why are there so few players playing on the site? I checked during the day and the night. Obviously the tournament guarantees and player pool is going to be small. But how could there be this little? NJ is a pretty decent size state. Are there really that few players on the site? There basically isn't any tournament that has over 100 players. Surely that has to be much more than that poker players in NJ. Where are NJ players playing at then? Could they play on wpn? I know they cannot on ignition.

2. I downloaded the software for all the sites. But is wsopnj/888nj the same thing? Noticed when i opened one program, the other cant and it seem to be same tournaments?

3 Is starsnj the best in terms of number of volume players? I took a look and it seems borgatapoker has more player pool than stars which surprises me. The only tournament through all the sites that has the most players is that 15 dollare rebuy 5k gtd only and thats on wsopnj

4. Are there plans to extend to other states and if so when?

5. Wouldn't the process be very easy to make stars in all 50 states if they say okay its allowed in all 50 states and its allowed? Because i know you could only play on starsnj when you are actually in nj.

6. How many states would you guys think it take until this site gets lot of players? Would adding the big states like California, New York, Florida make it a pretty big site where there would be enough volume for cash game, tournament and sngs?

Welcome to NJ!

1. Player pool is what it is. At it's peak it was a bit larger but has plateaued. Got to work with what you have.

2. Yes WSOPNJ and 888 are same site, different skins.

3. In terms of volume yes PokerStarsNJ is the highest, followed by NJPartyPoker/Borgata and then WSOP/888

4. Yes NJ will be joining player pools with NV and DE. Time frame is unknown when it will start. Your guess is as good as anyone else's. FYI WSOP/888 is the only site currently operating in all three states so they'll have an advantage when player pools eventually combine.

5. Each state has to first legalize online poker then approve PokerStars to operate in the state before we'll see multi state PokerStars action. Some states like Nevada are adding "bad actor" clauses to their poker bills which prevents companies like PokerStars to operate in their state. Basically it's going to be awhile before you'll see larger player pools on United States poker sites.

6. Depends what you consider "lots of players". Currently there are four states that have legal online poker, Nevada, Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania games aren't up and running yet but are expected to start at the end of the year and does plan on combining player pools with the other states but again the time frame is unknown for that. Once those four states combine players pools I'd say they'll be a lot of players and plenty of cash game, high gtd tournaments.

Hey man thanks for that response. Well im not in NJ but pretty close to it. I just downloaded the software to see what games were running and how much volume there is. If i wanted to play on nj sites, i will probably go to borgata so i could play there. Btw, using borgata wifi would be good enough to play on it or not? Its been a while since i been there.

Well the biggest daily tournament in terms of players/value seem to be that nightly 15 dollar rebuy 5k gtd. All other tournaments have very little players though. Is the volume on NJ sites for wsop/888 better than vegas or worst? Isn't DE very little players though? So combining nevada and nj probalby isn't going to do much wise liquidity right? Even if you look at the sng volume on the sites, theres basically none.

Well i dont mind if its pokerstarsnj, partypoker or wsop/888. Whatever site that allow all 50 states would be great and im sure most american wouldnt mind which one though obviously it would be pokerstars. But if pennsylvania gets up and running and combine nj and nevada and de, wouldn't that be pretty okay volume though? But if they add california, new york and florida, you could probably say online poker is back in the us if pokerstarsnj or wsop/888 has nevada, nj, pennsylvania, de, california, ny, florida?

why is nj scoop in late april? that's such an awful time for an online series in nj, as it conflicts with 2 or 3 big live east coast series (which have always traditionally tanked attendance of online events).

run scoop in may, like you did the last 2 years...you know, when it was super successful! why fix it if it ain't broke?

Mucked cards are no longer showing in hand replay? They are still in text HH.

Actually no cards at showdown are showing

So i took a look at the tables on pokerstarsnj. The first thing i noticed was in the locations, well most people cities are in new jersey. But then i noticed some of the locations are las vegas and new york and thus not new jersey. I assume the reason for this is because when you first create an account in new jersey, you have to put in your regular address right and thats why it shows that for the location? Yes i know this sound like a dumb question.

Also does anyone know what if you could go to say borgata or harrahs in ac and then play there with the wifi? What about you going and staying at borgata or harrahs and then using your cell phone and tether since you are in new jersey? Would there be issues at all with this? Because its been a while since i been to ac but i believe borgata or harrahs charge a lot for wifi so does tethering your phone work for this if you want to play on pokerstarsnj or any of the other nj sites?

As long as you are located in NJ you can play on NJ sites. You do not have to live in NJ to play on these sites.

Yes you could go to the AC hotels and play. Although from my experience the internet typically sucks at these places and you'd be better off at a random starbucks or mcdonalds in NJ.

Borgata has free wifi in the poker room, hotel lounge, and somewhat in the hotel rooms.

Just went into the SCOOP events, filtered out rebuys & re-entries. I'll be playing in every remaining freezeout event hold'em. Can't wait!

What the hell is Courchevel?

5 card plo with the first community card being dealt preflop.
04-15-2018 , 12:43 AM
Thanks. I fail to immediately see what would make this a popular variant though.
04-22-2018 , 05:30 PM
Are there any lower bankroll players who find the SCOOP Low events a positive experience anymore? Broke down and played a few of them only to spend almost four hours building a big stack each time to get knocked out by a Supernova playing like a rebuy monkey (not that they shouldn't) at the end of a long late reg period.

I mean, it's totally my fault for being suckered in today, but I used to love these back in the day and really hate this current ownership group for turning them into a miserable cash grab.

The only positive seems to be them either barely breaking even or losing some money on the guarantees so far. Wonder if it's because anyone else playing without a ton of bullets to fire is having the same experience.

Hey all, I'm sure this has been addressed but I can't find it - I recently moved from Weehawken to Jersey City - both are right on the border with New York, but I never had geolocation issues in Weehawken. Now I keep getting kicked off both Stars and Borgata - I live in an apartment building so there should be enough wifi signals to triangulate, but there is a lot of metal and concrete, so the signals from other apartments may not be as strong as they need to be. Any ideas?

Did pokerstars just get rid of the VIP club? I don't see anything on my status after the recent update.

don't see anything either, not sure whats going on since there was no warning about this.

are they trying to tank their traffic? because NJ Stars doesn't have the market share in NJ to not have an actual rewards program.

*

wait why is the rake hidden on everything now..... this feels so incredibly scummy.

*

ahhh i guess i jumped the gun a bit? they moved the rewards store from the cashier into the "My Stars" tab on the side bar. currently things seem to be at the same rate of conversion. don't know or see if the rate of earning star coins is the same still.

Anyone make any headway on finding where they put the monthly status stuff? Have no idea how many points I earned this month.
