Pokerstars client failing to successfully transfer poker session from iOS to Windows Pokerstars client failing to successfully transfer poker session from iOS to Windows

So I played the BB $11 and needed to go out for a few minutes, so I transferred my poker session from my PC to my iPhone, as I normally do when I decide to run a quick errand during a quiet session. However, when I got back home, I noticed my Windows client now forces me to "transfer" my session, which refuses to work properly regardless of whether I sign both devices onto the same Wi-fi network, shut down either device in an attempt to "kill" the active session, or wait over five minutes in a vain attempt for something to happen, etc. I do use an RSA Security Token to log in and use Touch ID on my iPhone, the latter of which I turned off but to no avail. There is absolutely no information even announcing this refinement in the software client, let alone any sort of FAQ explaining specifically how to transfer sessions (best I could find was this article) for when something like this happens. I have even finished the tourney in question and have no tables open, yet I am still unable to successfully log into PokerStars on my Windows client, although I can still log into iOS without any issue. I am absolutely stumped on this one and am incredibly frustrated because I need the Windows client to do things I cannot do on the iOS client. If support could please help me out on this one, I would really appreciate it. My screenname is troycm, in case you were wondering. Thanks.

you just have to log out on iPhone and then click transfer, do this every day

Not just close the app but actually log out

None of that is signing out on the iPhone, you are still logged in in every scenario described.

Thanks to support for getting around to manually logging me out. I'll leave their e-mail here for the sake of reference, as I don't want anyone else to be as frustrated about this as I was today and be able to find an immediate explanation for this somewhat bizarre issue.

Hello Troy,
Thank you for contacting us.

You were experiencing what is called a 'hanging login', generally caused by an abnormal shutdown of the session between the user software and the server.

This is common for players who leave their account logged in and get disconnected due to a server restart. It is also common for this to affect players who are using the mobile app or our web browser software and simply close the app without clicking on 'Log Out'. If you do use the mobile app or log in via our website, please ensure that you always click 'Log Out' before closing it.

We have now ended the login session for your account and you should now be able to log in and play. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Regarding your issue with transferring sessions, please note that if you're logged in on a device and want to start playing on another, all you need to do is to login on the second device and you'll be presented with a dialog box that asks you if you want to transfer your active poker session to the current device.

Once you confirm, you will be automatically logged out from the previous device and logged in on the current one. If you have any active tables, they will be opened on the current device so you can continue playing without interruption.

This also serves as a security feature as it allows players to log out remotely from a client if they forgot to terminate their login session and don't have access to the respective device at that moment.

Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Regards,

Linda
