@ scoop

From Denmark - so EU licensed sites should be tax free.

Do have a few rakeback deals but i would also think stars is the best place. Stars unfortunately doesnt have a EU license - to my knowledge at least.

I've played semi-professionally in the past on Pokerroom, FullTilt, Pokerstars, and Sportsbook and I'm looking to go pro.

In your opinion what is the best website out there for:

1) Guaranteed Tourneys, where total prize pool is $10K or more and the total field is 500 or less.

2) Quick and reliable cashouts, where it takes less than 1.5 weeks to receive your money in your bank account.

3) The tournament play is weak and consistent.

Would love everyones opinions on this! Thanks!!

In the good old days it was pretty much instant with Net Teller but that's long gone now. What do most people use to get their cash quickly these days? And which website offers the best withdrawal options?

cake has some ok daily tourneys that are very soft. They have a 20k r and a thats a 33 and also a 25k thats a 33 r and a. they also have a 20k gtd at night thats 100 to buy in with no more then 180 people. the other 2 have about 300 people. they are all very soft. plus there is 2 daily 10k gtd that have about 200 people in them and they are 55 freezeouts.

stars is the best as far as prize pools and stuff. much bigger fields there though

If you are looking to go pro as a tourney player you should defininately hold accounts at several different rooms and scan to see what tourneys will workout to be the best for you. IMHO at least.

Since FL is much less popular, unless you just wanna play the regs all the time it's Pstars or iPoker, maybe FTP. Not many of the other sites have all that many FL tables running. If you go look through pokerscout and look at the individual sites you can see how many FL tables are running on any particular network.

my opinion would be that if too many people respond to this question it won't apply much longer.

I play 90% no-limit hold'em 6-max 25nl, sometimes some 50nl depending on how I feel and if the games are particularly good. I have $600+ and have been considering depositing most of my BR to get $600 bonus and rakeback.

These are the pros and cons I have thought of:

PROS
FTP has the bonus
FTP has 27% rakeback
FTP has good enough volume
I can datamine?

CONS
I like pokerstars software, like the hand replay feature and the simple themes
They have cool tournaments, like the turbo takedown
They have a cool store

=================================================

On PS, I am a silverstar now due to lack of volume but I am confident I could make gold star pretty consistently, especially if I move up to 50nl permanently. At what point does Stars' VIP scheme get better than FTP's rakeback?

Also, there is some debate as to which site is softer. I have played on FTP once or twice and it seemed softer at the micros, but I can't tell over my sample size. I assumed it would be softer as FTP havn't had micro limits for long so there would be a higher newb to grinder ratio.

At the stakes you're looking to play the player pool is horrible on both sites. If you're a decent winning player, you'll make money on either site.

For your situation, I'd pick FTP for now. Taking advantage of the bonus and rakeback would be better in the immediate future. By the time you clear the bonus Stars may have implemented fractional VPPs at which point it might be a good idea to move your roll to stars.

FTP doesn't 'allow' datamining. That doesn't mean people don't do it anyway, but if you get caught you risk losing your account and, possibly, every cent in it.

This is all assuming your only motivation is money.

If you care more about who provides better customer service, who has a better network, who has better security, who pays on time and who won't totally screw you out of your account - stay with Stars. Go back in time and read these forums and tally up the number of '<insert poker site> locked my account' threads for FTP and then do the same for Stars. Scary, isn't it?

I would see this as an indication that FTP has BETTER security.

Also, their bank transfer and cheques are fast (1-2 days) at the moment.

Apologies, not 1-2 days for paper checks, more like 2-5 days depending on how long it takes to approve it.

PokerStars has better support as well. However at your level of play I think you would be mad not to sign up to FTP and take advantage of the bonus and rakeback. When you have cleared the bonus make your own assessment as to which site you prefer.

Hello,

After making several attempts at replenishing my Poker account at Pokerstars I just found out that they are experiencing problems and are not accepting deposits either through Echeck or credit card. Can anyone recommend a good poker site that is accepting credit cards or Echecks?

I have read that Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet seem to be working but I dont want to use those two sites as they are known for cheating players. I wanted to try Sportsbook Poker but apparently it does not work on Apple Mac's.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Do not play on the cereus network. UB and AP both have had cheating scandals. try full tilt and cake poker, if not wait bit till stars has it back up.

Only US sites that are mac acceptable, are poker stars, absolute, and fulltilt...
If you want to run windows on your mac, any site will work!

Play on Absolute. Best cashouts, soft games, plus you get to annoy all the 2+2ers, which is always fun.
