I was playing on Poker Host last night, and the software froze. I can no longer open it.
I tried reinstalling, etc.. My internet works fine, but can't access the software.
Another poker room (betonline) is having the same problem for me. checked the site and it seems to be fine.

I live in Utah... did PokerHost stop accepting utah players? is the entire site down? Am I the only one having this problem?

any help appreciated.

Since I know for a fact that there are some LHE players on PokerHost, I thought I'd share this information here, even though this thread has kinda fallen by the wayside as of late:

The rake at all forms of limit poker on the Merge Network was recently reduced!

You can read more about it here

Incase anyone doesn't already know, I highly suggest not playing on the Poker Host software. I've been waiting 52 days for my cashout through them in which they forced me to get money back to my credit card instead of any of their other cashout methods.

I've been in contact with them constantly, always have a new story and a different reason. They told me it would be here on the 9th, it wasn't of course. Talked to them, showed them my statements to show that the money never came and now they say that the statements aren't proof enough and have left me with no options to get my $500.

so just a headsup, dont put any money on pokerhost, its absurdly sketchy and dont trust any money on that site, learn from my mistake

i never had any problems either on pokerhost with many cashouts, plus now they've added direct deposit...wondering if they will close like the rest of the merge skins tho...maybe not, since they have their own cashier and sportsbook but who knows

Does this skin offer everything that Carbon Poker has as well as its own cashier?

it offers a 75% reload bonus, that bonus is available anytime...very few promotions tho like rake races etc...and the same vip point schedule as carbon i believe

No it does not. The tradeoff for faster withdrawal speeds come in that the rewards are smaller. As stated, there is no rake race. The promotions are not nearly as big. They still have the $500 Royal Flush bonus even though Merge dropped that

The VIP is also capped at 35% on PH. However, instead of monthly requirements for the VIP program like on Carbon/Aced, the VIP program is lifetime rake accumulation at PH.

In my opinion PokerHost is the way to go on merge. Faster cash outs and more personalized customer services like their live support. Also if players search a little they can find affiliate offering nice extra like rake chase for example which are very good add-on.

The lifetime vip rake requirement can be better for smaller and medium players in the long run.

I play there since 2 years now and only have good experience with them.

does carbon offer a reload bonus?... i was under the impression they don't but i'm pretty uninformed about them..the 75% one that is always available on PH i always thought was pretty cool too

FYP. Availability of rake races depends on who one signs up with (formally, the Carbon/Aced race is for key affiliates only too, though most cashback-savvy people sign up through them anyway). I agree that cashback % is big at Carbon/Aced for big grinders or someone who plays mainly at Happy Hours (midweek European peaks), but that's the minority. As for the reload bonus, it clears at the same rate ($5 for every $50 of rake) at PH and Carbon and has the same maximum size ($375) and expiration time (90 days), so there's little difference for most.

Yeah, I think it's the key difference, PH favors loyal small stake players. I for one would still stick to PH if I was eligible for a big lifetime status there, but I was rather new to Merge (as to serious poker in general) and had raked only ~$500 lifetime when RB was cancelled

Carbon offers reload bonuses pretty frequently, including one as we speak.

Can someone confirm I have understood this correctly?

If I earn more than zero loyalty points in a decay period, I won't go backwards in VIP tier, right?

Sounds legit!

The Merge Gaming Network DOES NOT ALLOW RAKEBACK in any form or fashion. Anyone offering rakeback tends to get their affiliate accounts banned and lose all of their customers.

I'm sure you understand what was meant, Kahn. By 'rakeback' posters, including me, often mean aggregate returns from all rake-based promotions - the central VIP program (up to 35%), reload bonuses (that clear at 10% and afaik can be triggered one after another at PH) and affiliate-specific promotions like rake races. Total returns may exceed 70% of generated rake at times.

There's a 35% cap on its component proportional to the rake generated (in absence of reloads) aka the central VIP program, and a 10% cap on returns from reload bonuses. Thus 45% is guaranteed to a player with >$30K lifetime rake who reloads diligently.

Anything above 45% is not guaranteed: it's theoretically possible that 50 Leatherasses sign up and rake $10K next month and kick $2K rakers out of the race prize zone , but normally this doesn't happen and these rakers get solid hard-earned prizes Afaik Merge skins are still allowed to give away as much as they want in races, there's no such strict promo budget regulation as on WPN/Party/888/MPN, apart from the mentioned caps on VIP rewards and bonuses.

And you think he's going to achieve this grinding 4NL? How Quaint...

If you, or anyone else is offered "rakeback" it is an illegal deal on the Merge Gaming Network and subject to forfeiture at any time (you're affiliate, once caught, will be booted and lose all his customers).

Use the right terms, get the right answers my friend

Just thought I would let you all know of the issues that I have had with trying to deposit to pokerhost.

I requested a name to send to this afternoon, upon sending the MTCN and info in.

about 30 minutes later, money had not hit my account. So i got on live chat and tried to find out why.

Was then told that i couldnt use my own name to send. Which makes no sense at all to me.

So, i get a refund from WU, make a new transaction using my middle name instead of my first. Then I am informed that it wouldnt work, 2 agents tried to tell me that i was my fault, then later one told me that it wasnt my fault.

If it is this hard to deposit, makes me wonder how difficult it will be to cash out.

The whole point of depositing on PH was to get around the 2 month cashout times on carbon as PH uses WU withdrawls.
