I just received an offer from poker host to try out their site. I think it's on merge? They are giving me $25 to play there.

Can anyone give any comments on this site?

I know I'm new to posting here but I sure would appreciate any of your opinions!

as in sketchy site. I have read a lot of horror stories. Use search. You are correct it is a skin of merge. Lock and Rpm have the best reviews by the way if you are considering merge.

thanks - i will search more into them. lock and rpm also - do you know if those are available in usa? and as far as pokerhost - i guess i can play the 25 that they are sending as promotion - can't hurt. i'll just not put too much time and effort into it.

actually - i've not put a deposit anywhere after getting money back from pokerstars... its a sad thing. and i know that it will probably be very easy to put some money ON any of these smaller sites - it's just the "getting it back" part that worries me.

anyway - thanks for the info - and if anyone else has any info on this it would be great to hear!

uh oh. ok i see my thread got combined with the "pokerhost" thread. read a lot about pokerhost and am not happy that i even started an account with them. not sure if i can even get started on another skin - but this whole fing thing just irratates me so bad. (as all of us i guess - played on stars for YEARS and this is just so disappointing).

oh well - off to play at hawiian gardens tomorrow - i guess live is all that is really legit anymore in usa.

i did the free $25 thing right after black friday. i had to talk to someone a while on thier online chat application who had me verify personal info, then they put the 25 on my account. so they did actually deliver. however, they charge minimum $40 to withdraw with any method, including snail mail check, so you're gonna give that $25 back on your first cashout. the carbon cashout page indicated a $15 dollar cashout fee for snail mail check, but a month ago carbon's email support told me it was taking several weeks to send checks out. for $40 you can cash out with western union or moneygram on pokerhost, so the speedier cashout might be worth the higher fee until carbon speeds up thier $15 check delivery. i havent been able to make enough on the microlimit sngs to cash out yet on pokerhost, so i can't tell you how reliable they are. i signed on as a free way to try the merge network after black friday dropped me from pokerstars. i miss the free echeck cashouts from pokerstars that usally got to my checking account within 24 hours. to be competitive, pokerhost should at least match carbon's $15 snail mail fee.

Why are there so few withdrawal options at Poker Host? Also, I'm planning on withdrawing with Western Union, just wondering how it works, when you just put in your city and zip code, where you can pick your money up, if there are multiple places?

Would appreciate if you could shed some light on your experience withdrawing from PH via MG/WU methods... If you don't want to discuss this in public, feel free to PM me. Thanks in advance!

Deposited 150 on PV last month, ran it up to 1200 and looked at my cash out options... Wanted to try a small cash out tosee how long process is. I either have to get a wire trasnfer for 1k min. Or 500$ min. Through direct deposit. the fee from a 200$ withdraw is painful. Never tried to cash out here and haven't yet.

The players are horrid, the prize pools are decent at best and structures are decent as well.

The software isn't bad, compared to bodog, it's PS.

Will keep updates on cash outs.

The tourney schedule needs readjusting big time, too many turbos, not enough regular speed mtts,

Just went to cash out and the only choices are "Poker Transfer" and "Sportsbook Transfer". Can anybody explain what these are?

mw58 wait until a WEEKDAY and click the cashout button again, you'll like the selection of options better, trust me.

as per your question "poker transfer" is sending money to another poker player and "sportsbook" is sending money to sportbook to gables on sporting events. neither of these are probably what you want. just wait for a WEEKDAY and look at list again because there are a few more options that aren't available on weekends.

I have an account here but when I went to play they said I couldn't, because they blocked certain states. Actually, they didn't say that exactly, they said something like I can't fund my account. I opened the account before they did that, so up to them, but I would have played a lot due to their having their own cashier and offering WU/MG as a withdrawal option.

If anyone from pokerhost reads this and thinks we can work something out, contact me. I assume it's a mistake on supports part as I'm able to play another Merge skin that I joined long ago. The only reason I didn't really follow it up is because I went through the affiliate manager to begin with and if she wasn't powerful enough, or didn't care enough (never heard from her again after signing) to retain me then they didn't want my business.

I should mention I went here purely because of their having their own cashier and took the "risk". Lots of people were warning at the time, when I asked about the site. People might want to do some research before joining as I think there's some ties to a company called Gizzette (?) or something and basically it's a company that has ripped people off and closes then resurfaces as a new company. They are the ones that own the separate cashier.

I really don't know much about that last part so I'll leave it at that, but I would research it and possibly PM someone like pokeraddict for advice/help researching.

I tried Pokerhost for a few days. After I built up $800 in profit, Pokerhost conjured up some alleged conflict with my account at another Merge site (which they did not name) at a past date (which they did not name), terminated my account, and refused to cash out. I guess they figured keeping my money was a better option as far as their bottom line.

Their support, by the way, stinks. No email support at all, and the live chat support dudes appear to be on quaaludes.

I have a direct deposit in process for $500 cost $540 to do. Was approved on 12/23 still waiting on money? Called support twice and they tell me it takes up to 10 days? Has any one got a cash out from poker host?

I played on poker host for about 6 months full time last year. I was an MTT reg as well as 100NL reg. I requested a check and it was approved about 3 days later. I received the check about 48 hours later. When I went to deposit the check the banks central office froze me account saying the check was suspicious and my account would be unfrozen once the check cleared. I contacted PokerHost and they we very helpful. They sent me a $900 western Union that same day to help me until my account was unfrozen. They use their own cashier so check withdraws take a fraction of the time other merge skins do. Only down side is you cant get rakeback even thru an affiliate anymore. Seeing as I play 100NL about 8 hours a day I rely on rakeback a lot so I have taken my play elsewhere but I think anyone concerned with cashouts cannot do better than PokerHost (US Players). Also they have a live phone support available 24/7, not primarily english speaking but still 70% understandable.

i'm happy to report a successful US cashout from Pokerhost, although it was expensive. it cost me $39 to cash out $180 with western union, but the money was in my hands in 2 business days. i requested it on a monday, and it was in a pending state until wednesday morning, when it said "TRANS id xxxxxxx approved Waitting for MTCN information". that afternoon the mtcn code was on the cashout page. i believe the cashout page mentioned my being phoned with the code when i cashed, but getting the code online was actually more convenient, although possibly less secure. the cash came from a woman in San Jose, Costa Rica. when i signed up with Pokerhost, snail mail was $40, but they soon stopped offering it. the WU fee goes up the more you cash out, but it's a better deal the more you cash out too. up to $100 is $32, up to $200 is $39, up to $300 is $46, and so on. there is a minimum $500 direct deposit option for $40 too, but i'm wondering if that would actually work for US players. my Carbon app says Carbon charges $15 for a snail mail check, but your cash is held for 6 weeks before it's even processed, so i'll stay with pokerhost for now. I think pokerhost is faster as they do thier own deposits/cashouts instead of using the Merge cashier, at least that's what i'm guessing.

emails to and from pokerhost regarding the conflict you are having would be great when making such a claim.

nice freeroll, i placed in top 100 in this, but did not get the usual "you won xx dollars" message on exiting tourney. live chat said players would get paid at end of tourney when i queried during tourney. now chat says no playment till sunday. the 2 day delay seems needless. was hoping to get back in the SNGs today after not leaving myself enough of a bankroll on my sole cashout from this site.

pokerhost had the best of the superbowl promos, $10,000 for 752 entrants, top 100 paid, and you didn't have to pick a team. payments weren't made until today (superbowl sunday), $30 added to my account for 98th or so. the structure spread the prize money out well. 1st got $1500, which left plenty for the rest of the field.
