PartyPoker banning innocent player and confiscating funds [Resolved] PartyPoker banning innocent player and confiscating funds [Resolved]

Hello,

I have been a professional poker player since 2008. The last couple of years I have played mainly midstakes on PartyPoker (200NL-1000NL)

Since December 2016 my screenname on PartyPoker is 'jeffstrongman7'. Before that my screenname was 'float_your_boat' for about 2 years. Some of my nicknames before that: ‘LetitRide89’, ‘JE_SUIS_CHARLIE’, ‘FELIZ,NAVlDAD’, ‘Dmitri641’. I have played a ton against most of the 2+2 PartyPoker mid/high stakes regs.

About 6 weeks ago my PartyPoker account got blocked. At the time I had about €15.600 on my account. I was told 'Your account is currently undergoing a regular internal review. As soon as the review is completed, we will get back to you by e-mail.'

After not hearing anything for 5 days, a Party rep finally calls me and ask me all kind of random questions about my account and my poker play. What stakes do you play, how much % do you cbet, how does your play differ from the other players on the same stakes, how has your play changed in the last couple of years etc. After answering these questions they tell me they will call me back the next day.

The same happens the following day. They call me, and ask me some more questions: can you name some of the players you play with, what changes have you made in your strategy in the last 12 to 18 months. They say they have noticed that my play has changed significantly over that period and if I could tell them what these changes were and explain why I made these changes. Again after answering all of the questions they tell me that will contact me the next day.

On the third day they call me to inform me that they suspect I am using some kind of Artificial Intelligence, and that my account has been closed permanently and that my funds are being confiscated. I am completely shocked by these ridiculous allegations, and ask for more information about their so called research. They can't give me any specifics for security reasons. I tell them I will take a flight to Gibraltar on the same day, bring my computer with me, to demonstrate my play. I could easily prove that it’s me making all the decisions by myself. They deny this request.
Also I could point out dozens of sessions in the last couple of months where I have tilted heavily. This surely wouldn’t happen if I had some kind of bot making the decisions for me. They are not open for any discussion, and say that they have done their own research.

The only poker software I have used on PartyPoker is HM2 with NoteCaddy. This was before the anonymization of hand histories. After that I have only imported the played hands into HM2 after my sessions to review my results/analyze my play. Other than that I have used PokerStove, Flopzilla and PokerStrategy.com Equilab. Mostly off the tables to analyze/study my play. Maybe a handful of times I may have had one of these programs open during a session. None of these programs are prohibited as far as I know. I have also never used any kind of seating script or hand history converters.

After their last phone call I didn’t hear anything from PartyPoker for 3 weeks, despite sending multiple emails. Great professionalism and customer service eh? In my current HM2 database I have played 1,9 millions of hands on PartyPoker since February of 2013, and this is how you get treated after having done absolutely nothing wrong.

After 3 weeks of my emails being ignored by their management, I get this email: (I can't attach files yet, this is an img hosting site)

This is a graph of all of the hands on PartyPoker in my current HM2 database, since February of 2013:

This is a graph of the last 18 months on PartyPoker:

And to answer the first questions that may come up:
No, I am not a Russian bot. I am from the Netherlands.

I have played a bunch against Mayox, SmbSmbSmb, erikzamboer1, along many other 2+2ers of which I don’t know their nicknames here . I would like to request anyone who has played with me to support the fact that I am not a bot. This time I am being victimized, but it can happen to anyone of you playing on PartyPoker.

I would like to request Lessu, as he seems to be in touch with the relevant people at PartyPoker, to please help me out as well. I can provide any kind of stats about my play since Feb 2013, to prove that I am not a bot or using any kind of Artificial Intelligence. I have nothing to hide, and I want to prove my innocence.

PartyPoker can not just block innocent players and confiscate their funds without any further explanation. Like I said it can happen to any other 2+2 party regular out here. PartyPoker needs to get their sh*t together, apparently right now their security department is unable to distinguish real winning poker players from bots. THIS HAS TO STOP, or you might be the next victim. I strongly recommend players to not keep a lot of money on the site, or to stop playing on PartyPoker untill they sort out this mess.

That sounds something that the current party would do. Hopefully this gets sorted out. Can't really help but here are the pics you posted :

For a nl player nowadays there are zero reasons to play anything but ff and stuff like this makes it even worse. Perhaps it's time to move on.

Then link to the actual images so we can see them, rather than what I assume to be a holding page (not clicking on a domain I first heard of ten seconds ago)

Thanks for posting the pics Esa_Perse

Well maybe you are right, but obviously I am not going to roll over and give up on this situation just like that. Especially not since I haven't done anything wrong and I have a clear conscience. But the €15,6k they have wrongfully confiscated also seems like a pretty good reason to fight for justice.

Why doesn't party show their evidence that you had allegedly AI software running while playing? What software exactly did they say you were using while playing? this sucks!

If the case is he really used that party doesn't want the botters and scammers to adjust.

2+2 can't do anything for you. You need to make a formal complaint to the relevant regulatory body. It may take some time though. I had a similar occurrence when winning a 30k Euro progressive jackpot on a site. It took 13 months but I eventually got paid. That was after months of chasing them up though, and them eventually finding an independent expert to review the relevant data.

If you're genuine, good luck. If you're not, good riddance!

As far as I know they can not show any evidence of AI software running, because I have never used any.

They didn't say at all which software I would be using while playing. Only thing they said was that they had done their own investigation and concluded that I had used Artificial Intelligence. They couldn't share any information about their investigation for security reasons.

I realize 2+2 can't do much for me, but I have noticed that I am not the first player being victimized by PartyPoker like this. There have been a lot more cases just like mine. Obviously I don't know the specifics of those other cases, but this seems like a big problem the poker community should be made aware of.

I have made a formal complaint with the Gambling Commission in Gibraltar, and im still awaiting their response.

i think their wording is funny, it's not like " our investigation led us to believe it is very likely you have used assistance software yada yada", it was "we can CONFIRM" you used it.

i'm not implying anything, i don't lean either way, it's just funny if they're speaking in absolutes if you really are innocent, v bad look.

From what OP is saying there should be no grounds for confiscation.
Ok, you suspect him of AI, you ban him at most without confiscating anything but when you take away his money you need to have proof beyond doubt.
Pretty much like Stars did when they banned a ton of midstakes players for AI use, kicked out but let them withdraw.

And if they had that proof beyond doubt(which they cannot really show as it would give away too much) there wouldn't have been a need to call him in 3 separate days to ask for gameplay issues.

P.S: and unlike Stars I doubt they will even refund "affected" players if the decision to confiscate remains final, just pocket it themselves

Did you even have any so called "AI" software installed on your computer? piosolver, crev or something similar? Because none of the programs you were using qualify as AI to me...

I don't have piosolver, other poker-related programs I have on my computer are CREVbeta and a simple Random Number Generator. Both of which I have rarely used. I can't remember the last time I have opened the CREVbeta and The Random Number Generator I have used on a few sessions to try to get my frequencies in check, after seeing it on a couple of Run It Once videos. But I found it too much of a hassle and too distracting, so I stopped using it.

Assuming you are genuine, I think it's a good idea to post on all relevant poker forums to gather advice, especially from others experiencing the same and to spread the information.

I would also do as others have said and file official complaints with the appropriate authorities. Companies who pull shady freeroll-esque moves like this (assuming you are genuine), do so with the hope that you will give up and move on, so don't give up until you win.

Were all of your previous usernames on PartyPoker and if so why? I'm not sure if they allow you to change usernames, so forgive me if I sound dumb. But, were all of these different accounts created on PartyPoker?

In the past you were allowed to change your screenname every month, now you can't do that anymore. So all of these screennames are one account.

It's sad that PartyPoker is still banning people randomly. I was banned 1 year and a half ago and i spent like 6-7 month to get my account back. Lessu helped me a lot in order to get in touch with PartyPoker support (in another way) as they always replied my emails the same way: the account is closed as we have evidence that you're a bot. But when I asked for those evidence they always said they can't give me that info so...it was a loop.

I hope you can sort it out. I wish you the best and don't give up if you're genuine!

Good news, my account has been reopened:

Four months after randomly closing my account, confiscating €15.629,30 without any kind of evidence, they have suddenly decided to further review my case.

Of course I am glad I have got my money back, but I still find it unbelievable how Party can ban innocent regulars and get away with it.

It's really insane to me the way PartyPoker treats their customers. I don't even know if I want to keep playing on a shady site like this.
