lol, good point. Ultimately I was hoping there was some sort of automated way of approval, like requirements to take the test (age of account/posts), then requirement that you have to pass that test (questions based on the rules and general trading saftey tips) in order to be able to post.

I know the disclaimer is automated, not sure if VBulleten has a feature where they can automate approval though.

Re: P2P transfers: CHAT thread : No trading ITT

Still, the scammers and problem posters are a small, small minority.
With continued diligence we can still keep it that way.
The recent ericlee1984 mess is a reminder that crooks are always looking for ways to steal your money.

Harshly enforcing the rules like we do, and of course BF, has made moderating the transfers a rather smooth process.

As has been repeated often there would be almost no scams if posters paid attention.

ye, agree. I'm gonna go back to hiding. I think I just got worked up because of the recent Ericlee thing.

Fact is, the thread is about as safe as ever and as it can be, without the few here and there protecting themselves which is going to happen. Even then, people are able to save them 90% of the time. gl

I do 0.5 and I don't care the prize of the market. I can choose to write the number I which. Before doing 0.5 was thinking 0.4. But 0.5 is pretty much fair considering the inestable situation of cake right now.

For what it's worth, the market price has been stable at $.50 for a while, and the max cashout is still $3K and still taking 2-3 months

Re: P2P transfers: CHAT thread : No trading ITT

Ive sold some cake on here for 65% and 60% and 50%. The market is whatever one will pay.
I think both buyers and sellers would give up a little more on their end if they knew they were trading with someone they could feel real comfortable with.
I know some say dont trade with someone you are not comfortable with.
But take trading with hypergeometry for example.
He makes post that he has no references, will not send first. Who in their right mind would be comfortable trading with someone like that?
For me to sell my Cake $s to him and for me to send first Id want at least 65%.
Meanwhile if I trade with someone I know isnt going to rip me off, I have taken 50% from say Wackyjaxon. My point is it depends on who you are trading with.
The market price is whatever someone will sell at and have a buyer and it has been between 50-70%.
If i have $100 and want money fast whether its $60 or $50 isnt going to matter as much as the speed I get it is. Yet on $1000 that 10% might be difference in me wanting to trade and not wanting to.

Re: P2P transfers: CHAT thread : No trading ITT

I guess I should be more clear. As a buyer, I would not consider buying at more than $.50 right now since so many are selling at that price. If you are able to sell at higher prices, all the power to you!

Re: P2P transfers: CHAT thread : No trading ITT

Question regarding chase quickpay.
2 Chase customers who are signed up for it.
One sends other money.
When does money become available.
Chase says it takes one business day so if I do it a transfer at 1pm, money shows up in guys acct 1pm next business day.
Is this correct? Are there other bank transfers I can use where it goes instant if I am not customer of bank? Is there bank that if 2 are part of bank,
that it goes instant?

Re: P2P transfers: CHAT thread : No trading ITT

Some somewhat insider info for those of you with GDMP issues or worried about them.

Anything above the following apparently triggers some sort of soft credit pull. If your info on the card doesnt jibe with the info on your soft pull, one of two things happens (discussed below)

the limits are

3 loads or 1K in one day
7 loads or 3k in one week

If you have GD card only -- if the info doesnt jibe, your account is closed. Credit score might effect this to the extent that if the info _does_ jibe, they might shut you down anyway. Also loading cards from geographically diverse locations might trigger automatic closure as well.

If you have a third party card that loads with MP's -- nothing happens to your account, but future attempts to reload with MPs will fail.

If you look around, there are probably 100+ prepaid cads that reload with MPs. So in reality there is no reason to get even close provided youre aware of the limit.
If one was so inclined one might even be able to find a complete list of MP reloadable cards on their website (MP's not GD's)

Note that the MP reloadable cards are not owned or managed by the same company -- theyre third party partners and i have it on reasonably good authority that being blacklisted from loading MPs on one will not effect loads on another.

If one was so inclined one might even be able to find a complete list of MP reloadable cards on their website (MP's not GD's)

Re: P2P transfers: CHAT thread : No trading ITT

can someone explain what "vouching" means when used in the P2P thread? Is the voucher guaranteeing the money? So if the vouchee scams, the other guy is saying he is on the hook? Or is the voucher just saying "I chat with him on the regs thread and he seems like a nice guy. But I'm not taking any risk."

Also on an unrelated topic, where do I go request a VIP/rakeback offer from a poker site? I vaguely remember there's a thread, but I can't seem to find it.

That is the technical definition, and the meaning someone relatively old school would take.

However, on 2p2 generally the term is used more in the sense of giving a reference than an actual vouch. Unless someone explicitly states otherwise, i assume the person means the latter definition, not the (IMO more technically correct) former.

My horse made a post requesting a trade in the transfer thread. I quoted his request and said I vouched for him. I meant I will be responsible for anything that goes wrong on his end.

I was thinking maybe the mods should explain the first post of the transfers thread what it actually means to "vouch" (and take actions accordingly in case of default) and what it means to give a "reference".

I interpret it as giving a simple personal assurance that the trader is believed to be good for the money and trusted by the voucher. I do not interpret it as meaning that the voucher is guaranteeing the money.

If the voucher is willing to guarantee the trade with his own money if something goes wrong, I think he would say so, clearly.

In any case, most vouching posts are deleted as being superfluous and clutter, as the prospective traders can give and take personal recommendations behind the scenes as part of their normal pre-transfer investigative work.

Re: P2P transfers: CHAT thread : No trading ITT

Only stupid questions are the ones unasked, right?

I snoozed on depositing to the Merge Network when they were still taking because I lost so much with FTP and Stars shutting their doors. (Gunshy, FML, etc.)

I finally decided to go for it, reading the threads here, and they shut their doors.

But I see Americans trading money on that network.

Question: Can Americans who never deposited on Carbon/Lock receive/send transfers?

Not offering a trade here, but I did bonus whore Cake. I'm done now, and want to not really have much of anything sitting there, hearing the horror stories of their handling. Merge sounds like a great network. Did I miss out or is there a chance?

If you have an account there already, you can get it verified (just sending in a few docs - talk to your skin's support) and it will be eligible for transfers.

This might sound stupid and I'm sorry if it does, but I bought $300 dollars in Visa giftcards to use on MyPaylinQ to deposit on Bodog. Problem is the cards are U.S. only. Would anyone be interested in 3 $100 cards for $300 on Bodog?

Here is the GiftCard subforum in the M'place.
You might find a threadstarter there who will give you poker funds for your Visa gcs.

It won't be Bodog, sry.

Re: P2P transfers: CHAT thread : No trading ITT

I just had my Green Dot account frozen because someone disputed that I used a GDMP number that they had bought and not given to me. Im just pmed the guy and will give him 24 hours before i out his name, in case its a mix up. Looks like GDMP isnt scam free either.

So they said theyre doing an investigation and will contact me shortly. Should i tell them that i was trading poker funds for a GDMP? I have enough correspondence to show that he gave me the number willingly and that i sent him funds. The only thing I can find in their TOS that deals with gambling is
Quote:
You agree that you will: (i) not use the Card at unlawful domestic and/or international gambling web sites, or at payment processors supporting unlawful gambling web sites, or to purchase illegal goods or services; (ii) promptly notify us of any loss or theft of the Card; (iii)
That seems to say i cant use the card itself to try and fund onine sites but doesnt really touch on whether they have an issue with trading poker funds for a GDMP. I guess i could just tell them i was selling him something or collecting on a debt, but then i cant really show all the correspondence and proof of payment on my end without them seeing its for poker.

Hopefuly theyre just doing due dilligence and will unlock my account soon. Just really peeved that yet another form or trading poker money for for real money isnt scam proof.

Will update tomorrow with sn if no resolution is made. I know its BS not to out this guy when he could scam other people, but I think giving him a day to clear himself and letting all you guys know that GDMP isnt scamproof should be sufficient.
