Read the OP for more suggestions.

On the top of this thread go to "search this thread" and type in the person's username. It will find all posts by that person as well as posts with that person's name. Your mainly looking for posts confirming trade with the person where someone else has sent first.

People sometimes also trade in the GC forum so you can go there and search as well.

That sucks man, I didn't know they were reversible.

Was this with Amazon's new payment service, or with traditional Amazon gift card? If these Amazon payments can be reversed just as easily as Paypal, I think we might have to evaluate allowing them to be used for trading.

I'm more familiar with Lock, but on Carbon I'm 99% sure you can receive a P2P transfer even if you have never made a deposit, but I also think you send a transfer out you need to verify your account. And as far as the bonus goes, usually with most Merge skins if you just email them, and tell them which deposit you want to count as your first deposit for the bonus, they will do it as long as it's reasonable. IE, as long as you're not asking for 2 deposits. With Lock, I made a small deposit to try the skin out, I liked it decently, so I emailed them and told them I was going to make the full $500 deposit to take full advantage of the bonus and they said OK.

I would like to fully understand how this happened. Did you actually redeem the Amazon gift card to your account, and then he was still able to get it reversed????

He must have disputed the Amazon GC's he purchased with his credit card
to the credit card company. They reversed it back to Amazon who then invalidated the GC's. Scary stuff.

Did the scammer contact Amazon to have them reverse the gift cards? Or did he buy the gift cards with a CC and then contact his CC company to file a chargeback? There is a subtle but important difference here I think that can not only make it easier for you to get your money back, and get him caught, and has implications on the secondary poker funds trading market as a whole in the context of whether sellers should be trusting of Amazon GCs as methods of payments or not.

Short answer, find someone with the same bank as you and transfer him funds and he'll send you poker money. When you win, you can reverse the process and then trade the site funds back to your bank money. There might be vig involved in the trades.

As a prelude to using your money and your bank account to make an electronic fund transfer to a virtual internet stranger you really should check into the details of every transfer option your bank allows.
They should also have instructions on how to make sure you do it right.

If you have received ANY PMs offering to help you it is vital that you use extreme caution.

I arranged a trade with a 2plus2'er who I have traded with before (this will be my 2nd trade ever here). He is a real big trader and I've already responded in the main P2P thread to his offer with my Screen names on RPM,BCP, and Carbon. He says he's backlogged and won't be able to get to me until Sunday Night. I had wanted to trade $800 worth of Merge money.

In between now and then I'm almost sure I'm going to make some more money. Do I need to post again, or when I send him the money (I'm going to send first) can I just put the increased amounts in that post, or do I need to reply to his originating post again?

So Amazon finally got back to me. Unfortuntaly they said that they dont know what happen to the funds because they couldn't find the transactions that i am talking about. They were looking for the gift card claim code but like i stated i dont have those no more. So i am not reallly sure what happen to it. Was it really Sdid fault or was it amazon? I have no idea because they said they can't even find those transaction. The thing that is weird is i still have $~500 that i traded with Sdid with like 2 weeks ago and they are still in my account. If he reported all the chargeback shouldn't i have lost the $500 as well? I dont know and can't say 100% if he is innocent or not but all i can say is i lost the money in my account. If only i can retrieve those message with him with those codes still intact i would be able to see exactly what happen to my money. Either way i am going to let this go now and the mods can decide if he should be unbanned or not. I have no proof if i was scammed or not other than knowing that i traded with him this week and 2-3 days later the money was gone and i have no way to figure out where it went. Super strange and tilting but what can i do right? I am probably going to stop buying amazon for a little bit because thats insane and tilting tbh. How the **** does amazon not be able to pull up the transaction i did with Sdid and say that i need the codes in order to find out what happen to my money.

If he scammed you, we probably won't ever hear from him again.

However, if sdid is innocent and this is an honest mistake, he will be able to retrieve the codes from his amazon account to help you recover the money lost.
