hey, is it allowed to trade for sportsbook $ to poker sites?

i am looking for $ at a sportsbook, but I would rather ship a 2p2er some minted $

i posted in the trading thread, just wanted to make sure it was kosher

You need to have accounts on both sites and you need to find somebody else with accounts on both sites who is willing to do a trade, but yes.

Basically, if one half of the transfer is from/to a poker site, most are permitted, (bar Paypal).

I was approached by the 2+2 name DADPAPA about my trade post. He said he would give me $300 Carbon for stars. He wanted me to send first which I declined. He decided to send $30 first this time. I researched his Carbon name, (Coriickii123) that he sent from, and it was the same sn that the scammer from the Amaterasu account was trying to get me to send carbon to through aim.

BE VERY CAREFUL IF APPROACHED FOR A TRADE BY HIM. It is possible that has sn was used by the scammer in hopes I would send him carbon and then DADPAPA would send the scammer cash or greendot or something. Because I believe DADPAPA had a post about having cash for Carbon. This was also a tactic Amaterasu was using by takling to multiple ppl at the same time to move money around.

I have not sent him stars yet. The account he wanted didnt appear to have history (aamm604) and from Canada. It is possible he's clear and his carbon sn was just used by scammer. But I have doubt's considering he didn't seem concerned to have his sn linked to a scammer and the fact that I never gave him my aim and he approached me and said he got it from one of my posts or just guessed it but couldn't remember.

I'm busy playing tons of tables so I hope this makes sense. I just wanted to to warn ppl because I can't research much more right now. the 2+2 account has been around awhile, but as we saw with the Amaterasu situation, that doesn't mean much.

Thx for headsup.

Scammers obv suck for ppl ripped off, but it also makes it real hard for legitimate ppl to start trading.

I have no trading history on 2p2 (albeit ive been posting for almost a year) and have been trying to trade carbon but not a single bite (understandably so i guess).

Please post the AIM name that contacted you.

Do you still have the $30?

If so, contact carbon and tell them you have received a transfer from Coriickii123, and ask them to investigate the source of those funds, as well as verify proper ownership of that account.

As an aside, only trade in the open in the proper thread, and only after all screen names have been posted.

Also, in the future, you might consider suspending your play while trading, and vice versa.

Just making a post confirming my account names as it has been brought to my attention twice of possible imposters.

Gunth0807 on stars
Golt0807 on ftp
Jimbo0807 on ub/ap
Devon23Hester on lock
Devin Hester on Cake
Jimbo0807 on Carbon.

This is my only twoplustwo account. Do not trade with any poster claiming to be me unless you are able to contact me on this twoplustwo account.

Mods: Feel free to delete this or add to this post whatever you feel is necessary.

i checked the main stickies and couldn't find a discussion of this topic

i'm wondering how risky it is to withdraw money from a poker site by transferring it to a friend and then having that friend cash out

realistically, what are the chances of being caught? do the poker sites care enough to bust someone for this?

anyone have experience with this? thanks.

Why are you trying to do this? What's the purpose?

trying to help a friend out who is unable to cash out the conventional way.

if there is significant risk i won't bother. i'd like to hear some stories/opinions

Yes, trying to circumvent a poker site's cash out rules and restrictions has substantial risk. Why can't your friend cash out the conventional way?

If he/she is trying to do something in breach of the rules and regulations that the site operates under, and you're an active participant in trying to launder that money, then that's:

a) clearly wrong

b) likely to cause a whole series of consequences that cause difficulty for all concerned

c) might be criminal depending on your jurisdiction and the facts of the matter

Some sites make you make a deposit before you can start playing for real money.

you can't transfer on most ongame sites. At Pokeridol you can. At betsafe you can after sending extensive info.

Cake lets you play with transferred funds without depositing. I have been since May.
Mint Poker lets you as well however they then limit your cashout to bank wire and it takes long time. If you want western union cashout you have to make a deposit.

I am trying to do some coaching for a US citizen who wants to pay from his Merge account. i dont have a merge account, and dont particularly want to set one up just for this. Would it be cool to set up a transfer (or attempt to at least) from his merge account, to some willing transfer partner on Merge, and then have that person transfer me the same amount on pokerstars? it would be <$50~ if that matters.
