Thanks for the tip Ruse. I already signed up for the netspend but I guess I'll get both. Gonna try to get a few bucks off early next month.

I saw in trade thread u did trade with netspend card and have to wait for it in mail.
With Greendot, you can use temp card to trade for money pak and use it instantly for credit purchases, just not debit purchases.
Not sure why you wanted to do trade with someone when you couldnt receive $s back right away. With Green dot you could of.

Yeah I know. The person I traded with didn't have GD, and I'm pretty sure netspend doesn't offer the same feature. The guy wanted the money today (not going to elaborate for privacy reasons) and really it's not a huge deal to me. I had the money to spare, the guy has had many successful trades, and I should be getting my NS card shortly.

Thanks for looking out tho, bro.

Not too familiar with Party as I don't have an acct. yet... can you swap money with players on that site. If so I'll be looking to receive around 500 or so (Sect7G future name of acct.) for money on Stars (Sect7G). Please PM if interested.

Party Poker Transfer Policy

The requirements they have in place are:

• The sender must have registered an account and also successfully completed ID confirmations with Party Poker. This is a routine course of action and helps keep security tight.

• The receiver must only agree to the transfer if the money is to be used on the Party Poker site. If the receiver tries to withdraw the money without playing on the site, the withdrawal will be rejected and the money will be credited back to their account.

• Before the money can be cashed out by the receiver, they must earn points by playing at the site. OF the money transferred, 15% of the value must be earned in points. E.g. if you have received $100, you must earn 15 points.

• To make a transfer the sender must have at least $100 (or equivalent) in their account and send a minimum of $50.

The $50 minimum is fairly high based on the industry average, but the steps they take to ensure your security makes it worth it.

Green dot has alot of advantages. Only thing that kills is the 4.95 fee. If you bought a 500$ card, that small tax amount is nothing... but if you're gonna buy a bunch of 25 or 50$ cards.. after getting 4 or 5 of them u might as well receive a free 5th or 6th one. Would be nice if they allowed you to make sub-codes on them so you can create up to 5-6 different pins from it to send to different ppl and it just deducts from the card. Maybe if they charged a 10$ fee instead and gave you that option. 5 per card is kinda ridic.

I bought card to receive funds. I havent ever needed to buy poker site money. I sell so except for the $5.95 fee per month (waived for $1000 in deposit or 30 transactions) I do not pay anything.
I see what you are saying if you are using the card as means to receive poker site funds. AS a buyer of poker site funds using money paks and paying 4.95 fee I imagine you factor that in when doing trade for vig you want to receive for the cash.

Can somebody explain to me why Greendot is more popular than Netspend? There seem to be wayyy more fees associated with GD, not to mention $10 a month just to maintain the card. I got one just to have more options, but I'm not gonna use it unless I can't get sufficient trades onto my Netspend card...

Its $5.95 month to maintain card unless u do 30 transactions or put $1000 on it.
Do not know anything about netspend but GD allowed me to almost instantly do a trade. I bought card at 711 convenience store, came home, registered card and had money on a card I could use in 5 minutes. Which I immediately used
at several locations around my town.
Almost like an instant cashout from a poker site, like the old days with neteller where Id used to win money in morning before work and take out cash at atm machine id won that morning at lunch time.

Am I right in that there is no fee for debit/credit purchases at gas stations, stores, etc... on Greendot? If so, that's a major thing I overlooked. All I gotta do is buy 30 energy drinks in a month and not get charged the $5.95? Pretty sweet

Yes, that is it. just dont take cash out of atm. Do a debit purchase that gives cash back. I gave card to my wife to take out $40 cash and I got hit with $4 fee and $2.50 fee, one I guess was the atm fee where she took it from ($2.50)
and the $4 was greendot fee. But that is ridiculous. Wont be doing that again.

One of the reasons is netspend only sells reload packs in Austin, Texas. To get money in your account, You basically have to bring your card to the store and load cash onto it.

nofx fan agrees:

reload packs are scarce and pretty much a thing of the past. This is one of a few big reasons Green Dot owns the market and netspend faded fast.

I respect you watching out for me, I didn't know him and was well aware of the risk, but again I had no recorded trades and no references. Just went with my read

Im a little confused with GDMP. I looked on their website an am not 100% sure how it works.

Does GDMP have a card to load codes onto or you need an existing pre-paid card for this?
thx anyone

You just sign up for a card online and they ship it to you. I got mine in like 4 days. You can then put money on it via a money pak, as well as a variety of other methods.

The money paks have the codes, yes
