I can recommend this agency for condo rentals in Bangkok: http://www.bangkokcondorentals.com/i...crt=2&Itemid=3

Internet ADSL is $40/month.

Air con can get expensive if you have it blasting 24/7. Budget around $100-250 per month for electricity depending on how much air-con uou use.

Meals, i spend $12-15 for a 3-4 course meal with drink for foreign food, less than half that if I go to some small restaurant and eat Thai food. All the good foreign restaurants and some good Thai ones too you can have delivered to your place by ChefsXP http://www.chefsxp.com for zero markup between 10am and 10:30pm.

A ride on the sky train around 60 cents. A 20 minute taxi ride is a couple of bucks.

If you want to go out drinking and shipping girls every night you could spend a lot of money in Bangkok, but other than that it's hard to really spend a lot of cash.
[x] Cheap to live in Thailand huge myth.

I live for half all those prices in UK VERY comfortably. lmao at rip off internet and leccy bills.

I'm afraid you have no idea what you're talking about, buddy.

In less touristic places of Thailand, you can get a 2 story house with land 200 feet from the beach for ~ 1000$/month or less.

Between that and some ****ty place in Manchester where I'm going to get mugged every other day, where people examplify what's wrong with an old gene pool and where it rains 6 out of 7 days, I mean....

And british food....ugh....

Only good thing about England is the lack of taxes on gambling income, which is irrelevant to US citizens anyway.

[ ] there was need for checkboxes in your post.

A crappy place in Thailand is way cheaper than a crappy place in the UK. A nice place in Thailand is way cheaper than a nice place in the UK.

You can pretty much live for as cheap or as expensive as you want in Thailand depending on your standards and where you want to live.

I live in the centre of the capital city, Bangkok. How much would the same apartment cost me in centre of London? Maybe 4 times as much!

I could live in some little town somewhere in Thailand, that would be comparable to wherever you are living VERY comfortably for a low price in the UK, and pay $200/month rent or less. You're not paying that in the UK, even in the worst drug and crime infested slum council estate.

If you compare like-for-like Thailand is much cheaper to live, and it's not even close. The average Thai person earns a fraction of the average UK person. It isn't even possible for the cost of living to be anywhere near that of ripoff Britain.

Internet does cost a bit more, maybe $10 a month more, so what?

You can spend pretty much nothing on electricity if you aren't an air-con whore like me. Electricity is much cheaper here but whoring the A/C can cost a lot. When I lived in Scotland I had to have the heating on 24/7 for 6 months of the year. I don't mind spending the same here on A/C, it's a price I'm willing to pay to be super comfortable. Some people can easily do without the A/C and pay very little each month.

Some of us who move to Thailand don't mind spending close to what we would spend on accommodation back in our home countries, because that amount gets us a much better location and/or standard of accommodation than that same price back home. The difference between spending $200 and $800 per month on a place to live will hardly make a difference for most professional poker players. If someone wants to spend, say $1K per month, to live in a luxury place next to a pristine beach, how can you even compare that with anything in the UK anyway?

There is a video of my place in Bangkok on my latest blog post. I hasten to provide a hyperlink for fear of breaking 2p2 rules but is easy to find.

hmm, I'll contemplate your thoughts as I eat my delicious $1 thai meal next to the pool in my nice $490 per month 70sqm 2 bedroom condo in central BKK.

oh, and like I said earlier I spend 30bucks or less on power and use a lot of aircon. 7mbs internet is 20 bucks.

Same up here in Chiang Mai. Ate a delicious lunch for $1.50US, about to go get one of the best shakes in town for another $1US and bring it back to my 300 sqm 3 bedroom town house which costs me $500 a month and is located in the center of the city.

But I'm sure penfold is right. I'm sure back in the UK he lives a comfortable life for half the 1K$US a month I spend here...

I used to play limit poker years ago and get the bonuses. Want to get back into it now and have a crack at SSNL.

I'm an Australian living in Thailand and have had numerous problems with processors trying to do casino and sportsbetting transaction. I was using my Australian details and moneybookers, neteller and visa have all put the breaks on me. I've had accounts closed, funds confiscated and all sorts of dramas.

Is there any alternative e-wallet options for playing from Thailand? I have valid Thai address and ID now.

Also, is there any list out there of Thailand friendly poker sites?

Cheers guys and look forward to participating in the SSNL section once I can get funded legitimately and without the headaches.

Good to hear others are doing it. Any suggestions for a good VPN? I know of strong VPN.

555 I'm also in Chiang Mai.

Would prefer to do it with a Thai address, ID and bank account / visa. All my Australian cards are expired now and don't have valid up to date ID to confirm an Australian address.

What sites allow player to player transfers? If I could put money in a 2+2ers bank account and they could transfer that would be sweet. But I had some trouble doing transfers with Full Tilt a while back.

Any insight on how other Thailand 2+2ers get around things is much appreciated.

I had similar trouble when living in Hong Kong and Moneybooker/Neteller both put breaks on that location also. I used Click2Pay for a while, wasn't the greatest customer support or interface however it did work, not sure if this is an option for Thailand or not.

Good to know theplayer I will PM you, not sure if I'll be starting on PS want to clean up all the good bonuses first.

A bit off topic, I'm debating sticking with limit or going NL. I used to play limit a lot but that was in the paradise poker days when it was very soft. The 2/4 limit games I've watched online play out pretty tough. The bonus $$$ per hour is pretty high for limit so worried that these games are full of limit specialists and bonus pros. NL is where all the soft money is I'm thinking. I just don't see the recreational players going for limit after everything on TV is NL. It's all about the shove these days.

Any home games in Chiang Mai?

Cool. I had no idea there were all these poker players lurking around town! Sportsbettor myself but I've been keen to get back into poker after a recent trip to Macau, where I witnessed the loosest NLHE games I seen in a while, and the limits were pretty bloody decent too wish I went there bankrolled.

Yea, there's a lot of us here.

I've been able to open up EcoCard and Entropay here. Someone else I know opened up a Webmoney account. A lot of guys have done direct wires to get money on, but some have had issues w/ the bank wanting an invoice for the wire.

W/out a doubt the best choice is opening up MB in your home country and using a VPN to access the account. I'm American and can't do that, but have considered setting up an address in another country just to get MB.

Yeah that definately looks like the go; Moneybookers through VPN. Since there's so many of you guys here I'm assuming there's no flack with the poker sites. Quite a few sports betting sites are blocked with the regular ISPs but I got a CAT telecom premium account and most sites that are blocked with 3BB and TOT are available through CAT.

It's handy to know there's the possibility of exchanging THB for poker credit.

If anyone plays CRIS sportsbook I can easily get an account credited in exchange for THB cash too.

Anybody tried to deposit cash to Pokerstars or Partypoker recently from Thailand? Somehow I cannot send money from my (Thai) Visa to neither Neteller or Skrill. Is there any option? Thanks

Depositing/Cashing out works ok from Phuket. Don't change your home address you got already verified to Thai address. I have Ukrainian account, staying in Thailand and no problems so far.

Sent my visas, selfies and all kind of docs though.

Won't work, probably cause of gambling laws. Fun thing is that you can withdraw from Skrill to Thai bank account (from EUR Skrill to Thai THB bank acc - almost free of charge). Works with Kasikorn and BKB.

You can deposit Bitcoin to your Neteller account. Use the BitPay app to deposit the Bitcoin to Neteller. It's automatically converted to USD.

I use the Thai exchange bx.in.th to purchase Bitcoin and send it to my BitPay wallet...to Neteller...then to Stars.

Are you referring to cashout to bank from NETELLER? Because NETELLER adds 3.99% to the average daily interbank market rate published by a third-party foreign currency data provider. NETELLER retains this amount as a foreign exchange processing fee to protect against exchange rate fluctuations.
