A few years ago, i opened accounts on borgata, pokerstsrs, and a few other nj poker sites to see what the player volume was like. I did not play, and never have played on a nj site as i dont live there.

I got an email from borgata today saying my account has been inactive for 2 years and they are keeping any money in it, which there was none as i never made a deposit.

My question is, does anyone know if i can reopen the account if im ever in nj and want to play? That would be awful if i end up not being able to reopen these accounts and play if im ever in nj lol.

Thanks!

I took a quick read of their (lol) inactive account policies. Looks like you just lose your funds. It doesnt look like the account is closed. Looks like you can log back in at anytime (just with a $0 balance)

Not certain though and not looked into it much. An NJ player might be able to confirm the above

Question here:
OK, in their TOS they stated that they will consifcate your money if you don't login for 2 years.
I (as a player) agreed I know...
But exactly what gives them the right to consifcate my money at all??
I loose my money because "I wasn't there" ?
OK, they can block it, stop me from playing etc.. But why would they be entitled to my money?
I am not in US and know nothinf about gamblinf regulations there but let's say I am a regular at a casino, I don't take all my money out of the casino after each session so I have like 2K left of money with the casino (I don't know how it works.. Please don't troll me on this)
I don't return to the casino for X amount of time (personal issues)
I loose the money?
What I'm trying to ask is, is there a legal base behind them confiscating my money?

Here's the reply I got from Borgata. This seems crazy. It sounds like he's saying that by the terms and conditions, if they close my account due to inactivity, then I cant reopen it and I cant create a new one, therefore never being able to play on Borgata, ever again lol. Can I get some other opinions on how you're reading this? Thanks

Thank you for contacting Borgata Online Gaming Customer Service.

In response to your email, We would like to inform you that, the account will remain closed inactive if you do not login and play and you will not be able to create a new account, as per site policy a player will be allowed to create only one real money account.

"As you have stated that it will take several years for you to be back in New Jersey and once you are in the state of New Jersey, We would request you to write us back from your registered email address requesting for account reopening and we can assist you further.

I was going to create a new account for the tri state wsop , 888 thing, but forget that lol

Sounds like you can log in at any time, if your account has already been “reset” to $0 (I know that you had $0 in it before) - or you may have to email them, their email to you is ambiguous.

Just reply with something simple, and not confusing for the CS person:

“Will I be able to use my current acccount, xxxx, in the future or has it been permantely closed?”

Thats perfect. Those were my exact thoughts and thats exactly what i did. I told him im,not trying to be rude but his email is ambiguous and then asked him to clarify that i'll never be able to play on borgata whatsoever, ever again lol.

Im pretty sure i can re open my account, i just want to make sure. Im glad poker stars clarifies in their terms and conditions that an account closed due to inactivity can be reopened. Thanks for your reply

Ok, someone else from borgata emailed back and said my account can be re opened anytime by contacting them
