Sounds like a pretty ****ty bar.

Why has Stars credited your account, but on one else?

And I don't think you can buy food at the grocery store with a 3rd party check...

I'm going to throw my 2 cents in about Pokerstars. Best online site, best support, best players, run extremely well. I am not the least bit worried about my $100 check I can't deposit.

I am concerned about the banks. I know deposits from online gambling are legal, but I am going to find another way to buy my chips. If I have to pay a little to avoid detection I'll pick up that small change first decent win. If I can find a decent way to avoid using my checking account for any activity I am going to do it.

The feds are in a strong position to lean on the banks due to the bailout funds. Personally, I don't need any checking account problems - I don't want to worry about bounced checks even if they don't overdraw my account. Don't know what I am going to do yet, but clearly holding the check for a while doesn't help - I held my current bad PS check for 2 months. Depositing them right away doesn't help either - lot of people over in the official threads deposited them right away.

Until I get things resolved properly for me I am going to try to work my bankroll on PS up to 5K! Only got $4902 to go! Oh, forgot - PS's owes me for the bad check - make that $4,802 to go. My bad.

Grocery Store works just like a check cashing store. Its A business check , they run it through register and it gets approved or denied. BTW it is not a 3rd party check.

If you had deposited that check 2 weeks ago it would have been fine. The checks were never bad, but NOW the account is frozen so none of the outstanding checks can be cashed.

So i got the "will update monday" e-mail. fine. I got one question(s) and a comment.

question: Is my bank going to now know that I am playing online poker? does anyone suppose they would retain this information? regardless of what happens with my stars check I am really thinking about switching banks now. Overkill? I make substantial cash deposits at my bank and now every time I go in there I am going to think they know what I do for a living and I try to keep that information as contained as possible for obvious reasons.

comment: could someone post a link to some organization that fights for poker player's rights? That's actually a question. I am sorry to say I don't belong to such a group, know if such a group exists (I assume it does), and obviously have never contributed to one. But I think it is fairly obvious that 1)this "hiccup" originated from the fed and 2) this is not a one time hassle.

This is a good opportunity to use our outrage to organize and, ultimately, sue the bastards. FFS we have the constitution on our side RIGHT? I mean I havn't read the whole thing but I believe that gambling, win or lose, is clearly under the ideal of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Someone give my lazy ass a link I'm sending money.

Mitch, if not this thread, then over in another thread I said I didn't give a F***K about the Pokerstars check I didn't deposit. Not a single post I made has said one word about "OMG, I got a hundred dollar PS check and now I can't deposit it! What can I do - the bottom has fallen out for me?"

I just wrote a letter to both of my senators and representative to support Barney Frank's bill even though I know that they are 1)not going to support it 2)It only has 26 co-sponsors 3)Online poker is probably dead now as are most of our rights.

Hmmm... okay. Not sure your point, really. If it's that bouncing any check would be bad for you, then I understand, but it's not the end of the world - it's not like you're writing bad checks.

Question: First time user on stars, I deposited via e-check on 6/03/09 for $50. Built it up to about $400, and was wanting to cash out $200 of it. Now, it won't let me cash out via e-check until my deposit has cleared, but i've requested a check, and it says I need to contact cashier@support.com. Anyone think i'm going to have any problems due to the current situation? And if not, why am i contacting the cashier??

Probably they couldn't clear the $50 from your bank, but that's just conjecture... best just to contact them. No one here can give you any solid answers for that.

Yeah, I don't think they are going to cut checks from the frozen account. You should be good to request more checks. I think since you haven't been notified of your outstanding checks, that those are probably fine as well, but just email them and ask. I did, and they let me know I am fine.

This link is now showing a correction saying the accounts are frozen as a result of actions by the U.S. Attorneys Office in NY.

G911 has been wrong more times than they've been right. They were the ones that said, without question that Pokerstars was absolutely going to leave the US back in '06.

I think G911 is probably right on here. They were the first to report about Neteller. Though Im wondering why no other poker news site has said a word about it yet.
