stars ran out of money due to the bad economy, posted on their website during the last hour.

They are hoping for a bailout from the US...

Stay calm.

Must be some temporary problems with the processor. I'm sure it will be resolved soon. Your money is safe...just a slight delay.

in all seriousness...the lasy from my bank said the check was stamped "returned to maker" was wondering if anyone else had the same problem....

I and many others had checks stamped the same. They are not accepting checks that they think have ties to online gambling. Of course everyone on the board actually blamed us in that thread. As if we walked into the bank and anounced we were deopositing an online gambling check. Anyway, you may have to switch banks, I had to.

Why do some of you always attack the OP in these threads? Pretty stupid.

so basically...from what I am thinking...my bank knows that the checks are from an online gaming company and are refusing payment on them...also...what about echecks...could I just withdrawl using echecks I suppose? this seems like a hugggge hassle

So you don't know if the check actually bounced like you said in your first post?

well i called the bank the check is stamped 'refer to maker' and yes it bounced and was not deposited into my account...the representative told me that there is 3 stamps that go on checks when they are rejected "NSF", "account closed", "refer to maker"

I just checked my online banking and my Full Tilt check that I deposited on Monday bounced this morning. So I guess it's not exclusive to Stars. This really sucks.

What banks are you guys using?

I just got a Stars check today and was going to deposit at my local Chase branch.

Online poker is legal, sure, except when you want to deposit or get paid... :/

I'm at a local credit union that I've deposited dozens of poker checks at before, so I'm pretty sure the problem is with the processor bank.

just cashed my stars check yesterday at BOA on Park Ave and 52nd st in NYC, they were glad to do biz with me. They gave me five Benjamins for a $500 check, backed by my ever increasing checking account balance.

Which got me thinking: How in hell would a bank know by looking at the check, that it is from a gambling site? From the looks of things, some depositers come in with 50 or 100 checks at a time, so it seems impossible that the bank would stop to look up from processing this crap to deny lowly poker scum like us check cashing privileges...

went to cash $4k check today and same response. the guy said to contact processor that on there end it said something about the account being frozen. It seems to be something wrong with the payment company, bank wasnt refusing to cash it they just couldnt, so i dont know how much truth there is to banks refusing to cash online gambling checks.... i didnt email stars but probably will soon...i left a message with the payment company...

Cap_Of_Water

Maybe that processor scammed stars and ran off with the money. I believe the processors are tools contracted by stars, so cash outs can be processed in the US...
