ETH isnt a currency any more than CHP is. It's only meant to pay people on Ethereum for things, not like BTC has been doing with the digital money.

The benefit for them with CHP is pretty obvious that they get to control their website and the currency on it.

Downside is people wont trust a business that requires people value a new currency just to use it.

Lol this site is like the online crypto poker version of a pink sheet pump and dump stock, complete with a paid employee to placate the nay sayers. If you can't see this from the outside I guess you deserve to lose what you deposit (which is their target market, the naive, excited, and gullible)

they now accept BTC deposits now... maybe the reason the price of CHP is going up a good bit the last few weeks?

Oh hi coin poker rep.

Site is a total scam. Dont waste ur time there like i did. Played more than 2 months freerolls there hoping i can cashout my CHP'S but the process with all these different wallets was a pain in the ass (especially to people new to crypto) and they wanted u to download some strange app for veryfication which not worked on all smartphones.

I didnt bother for some time because i had other things to do and in the meantime the value of my CHP'S decreased from 800$ to 40$. Beware!

Although I lost a ton on the ICO, I'm getting hopeful for CoinPoker's future as I see the value has increased a lot lately and they are still involved in their tech. and with improvements which says a lot. I might even predict that CoinPoker will outlast the dumpster fire which is Run It Once poker.

IMO, the only thing stopping CoinPoker's growth is the reluctance/ignorance of poker players to get involved in crypto. As the old dinosaurs, with their reptile brains, die off, and the new generation of crypto-savvy poker players take over, perhaps the site will grow.

I can't seem to find it on their site...

How do they handle the rate of conversions from BTC to Chips?

You can see it in the poker client at the deposit section.

Sumting wrong with the client today? I'm logged in but there are no MTTs and no SitnGos listed in the lobby.

Now MTTs are back but sitngos have disappeared. Dafuq.

EDIT:

From Telegram:

CHP Supportadmin
So we have reverted the Sit&Go update. The tech team will resolve the problems with Sit&Gos and we will relaunch them as soon as that it is done. In the meantime, cash games and MTTs should be running fine now.

They haven't always been perfect in the past and have had their fair share of criticisms and issues but the platform does seem to be improving over time and currently seems to be running pretty smooth. The addition of SNGs to the platform has certainly helped to attract additional players and improve both the fun and profit value of playing on the site.

I've noticed there are some new players on the platform and I've had more fun playing recently on the platform than in the past. As a player in the US, having more options to play on is only a negative if the site is a scam and I can say with certainty that CoinPoker is far from a scam in it's current operating condition.

Deposits and withdrawals to ethereum wallets are instantaneous which is nice. In the past, due to a copy/paste error on my part I accidentally sent some ETH to the CHP contract address making them unobtainable by anyone. While they didn't initially have the funds to refund me, they did eventually credit my account with a refund without me even having to ask. It seems things are getting better over there from a management standpoint. This is just one of the reasons why I'm showing my support for them in this thread.

If you're curious or a follower of crypto and player of poker I highly recommend checking them out. I've had a lot of fun over there and there's money to be made as well.

I'm sorry but this is just utter bull****. You might make that comment about those that initially invested in the ICO and the project itself, but not of the players on the platform currently. While it may not be a good idea to put a ton of money into CHP due to the risk it carries (as with any other crypto, except this one actually has a real use case...) the beta is extremely low from day to day. You can easily deposit CHP and cash out ethereum over weeks of play without having to worry about the price going down. It may even be more likely to go up at this point with how low the price is and the fact that cryptocurrency market as a whole has been recovering lately and may continue to do so.

I will also say that the proof-randomization technology built into the contract is pretty cool and the beginning of the future.

I was an early investor and lost over 90% of my investment after buying the ICO. If I had known they would be giving away millions of CHP I never would have invested because that surely devalued the coin more than anything. So I feel like I was swindled.

Having said that, I have only myself to blame. When I was a newbie into crypto one of the first things I was told by multiple people is you never buy an ICO. Well I didn't listen and I lost a bunch and I learned my lesson.

Having said all that, I still like CoinPoker. I'm back to playing there every day again. Their software is solid, they have a good selection of cash games, MTTs and Sit&Gos. They continue to make improvements and they seem to have a good team working on all aspects of making it a successful site. The real test will come when they stop all the freerolls. There is a chance that the site will dry up as soon as they stop giving away CHP.

Some good news i think.

Community contributions = "rake" of which .......75% of chp's will be burned and 25% of chp's will be returned to the community via promotions.

I am honestly becoming more impressed with this project as time goes on.

Read my article on reddit about why CoinPoker may be an exceptionally solid crypto investment (Yes, it sounds crazy! I never would have invested in the original ICO despite the fact that I enjoy playing on the platform now.)

However, I believe in the new initiatives (I happened to be recommending this exact strategy to CoinPoker management over the past year, and I'm glad they listened...)

These new initiatives are providing 1M-2M+ in chips to be given back to players and to attract new players via promotions EVERY month via the 1% community contributions.

Even more importantly, 4M-6M (also based on current activity levels which should increase,) of CHP token assets are being burned every month now over the past few months... and for the foreseeable future or in perpetuity. Within 4-5 years the number of CHP tokens outstanding should be reduced to approximately 100M from the current ~315-320M which would represent ~400% increase in 4-5 years if we assume no growth.
