If you're talking about live poker, yes. Online is not illegal. Credit/debit cards won't work at casinos who use the same transaction code (related to gambling) for all of their business. I'd assume this means most of them, without having any actual knowledge on the matter.

Nope.

See http://blog.neteller.com/debit-credi...its-in-norway/

Neteller pretty much useless as players can deposit straight to 'Stars the same way they can fund Neteller.

Sucks.

Just emailed 'Stars, and they are recommending "Entropay" which is a prepaid online visa thing that you can fund with your regular VISA and then use it to deposit on 'Stars.

This Entropay thing has worked out well for Brazilians for some time now. Here we can't deposit directly with most CCs, but Entropay seems to do it for a lotta ppl. I assumed that was banned too... If ppl from "banned" countryes can use it, the ban certainly won't be as effective as expected.

Anyone else have more information on the restrictions and implications for players in Norway??
Get your head out of your ass, and link a reference before you post this chit. French players, Norwegans??? Theyre still playing on my tables.

Can still use my VISA to deposit at FTP (made a 20$ deposit to make sure), but I`m having trubble with the other sites. Had trubble uploading founds at moneybookers as well (got my bank access closed).

So unbelievably idoiotic those laws. First the government take 1/3 of my money as taxes, and then they decide what I can, and cant spend the rest on. But if I shuld by any chance win some cash anyway, well they`ll tax that too. Greedy bastards

That is because all politicians in democracies of today are scared little buggers who always go after those who they feel will harm them least.
It has never been about anything else but cheap political shots and appeasing local casino operators who for whatever reasons see online poker as threat instead of oppurtunity.
It is really sad how Ongame concept of skins, for example, is so well designed for both local access EU wide and local taxation EU wide and what both governments and local casinos had to do to start profiting is to simply utilize it.
But instead as music or movie industry they are going to fight it first with everything they got just to be eventually closed out of the market by some big US corporations once this whole online gaming issue gets resolved on US EU axis.
Oh and they will try to nationalize it as well and then in 10 years find out it doesnt work like that with internet.

Ill just add my two cents.. ftp works fine, they dont seem to care about the rules.. its no longer possible to deposit at neteller:S and i had the prepaid mc wich was so nice!

Tried to deposit 600usd at entropay today, first i had to reconfirm my id and **** turned my house upside down looking 4 passport since i just moved. yey! found it!
They had apx 30min response time on those emails and i was good to go.. or so I thought.

decline, decline, "error", "errro". hmm yes im typing the correct bank pw WTF is goin on?!

Checked my bank account, most of it is gone (2k usd+) from my visa... finally got a response email now 11h later.. try to login.. FAIL! lmao this is frustrating!:@

Is it possible for public to play poker in Pokerstars, Partypoker, 888 poker or other sites with norwegian internet?

In Norway I imagine you could still somehow find way to install pokerstars software
-creating a new account would be difficult, but possible to create a account in other countries.
-you could also get neteller card sent same country you created pokerstars account

Yes - playing from Norway is no problem. If you're Norwegian with only local bank accounts, the issue is funding/depositing. Most options won't work but I believe a Neteller still might.

Been reading about online poker in Norway for the last few hours. Someone says its illegal and someone says there are still ways around it. Anyways I've been playing kinda serious for a while now, and im wondering if there are any norwegian players, or anyone familiar with the situation that could help me with this. Been trying to deposit on Party this morning without luck. Also tried to withdraw on stars, and i might be able to get them on netteller but im not even sure if i can transfer them from netteller over to my personal bank account. Anyways any info regarding this would be very useful. Thx

I see you're already in the NVG thread and that has the most current information. Other players are playing from Norway fine and there have been no recent developments, to the best of my knowledge.
