There were just over 800 entries in the last monthly VIP freeroll. So I presume there are many more than 300 VIPs. Since entry into the promo is free, there's nothing for them to gain by misleading us. I think that part was a mistake.

However, I would love to hear an explanation for the differences in the leaderboards. That doesn't make sense. Still, since it didn't cost me anything to sign up, I can just walk away from it if I don't like it.

Edit: BTW, I'm on leaderboard A and I've rarely played an SnG. Not since I first joined up, many years ago

there are qualifiers to the vip freerolls, but it may be right that there are over 300 vips.
but i doubt that anyone of the people in leaderboard b is an vip. the best of them has 1408 statuspoints, and if you are a vip you have to average 1666 statuspoints over the same time.

i am on leaderboard a too, and manly a cash game player, on leaderboard a there is also almost every vip i play against on the cash tables.

so i think the leaderboards are unfair in two ways. everyone from leaderboard a would crush leaderboard b. if you are a cash game player and have to earn points via sngs or mtts you just dont have a chance to win this leaderboard, but you would easily win the other ones.

also its unfair to not make them the same size

I think its important to look at the "type" of players in each pool. Seems like while A has many of the true grinder VIP's, B has many of the "whale" VIP's. If you remember the initial invitation email, it said something about including VIP players and other important players, or something like that. This may be the way in segregating the player pools to give a chance to the "whale" VIP's in order to win. I havnt looked too much into it, but just sharkscoped a few names in the B pool, and it seems like my suspicions are correct.

i think u are right about that, but seperating the pool of players is not the fair way to do this.

in the email it says:

so it seemed to me as the promotion was only for vips, which the players out of leaderboard b does not seem to be.

True, that is what your email said. Maybe it said something different for the other types of players. Hard to confirm as those players probably aren't the type that would be visiting 2p2 I'm assuming. The fact that 888 is providing some kind of perks is a good thing in general. The other solutions are not giving non-vip players the promotion, which is silly because a promotion like this gets them at the tables more often, which is good for everyone. Another solution would be to mix the players in together in one large pool or various pools, but that would once again make it pointless for the B leaderboard players since they have no chance against grinders. The more I look into it, I think 888 actually did this right other than the fact they changed the 50 person limit on leaderboards after the fact.

Also want to add that 888 might have different definitions of VIPs. The obvious one is those of us grinders who have accumulated enough points to achieve VIP status. But other players might be considered VIP's if they are big whales in there casino and table games, or just big losers at the tables. Keeping these players happy and playing more can only be good for the ginders anyways. Dont actually know this for a fact, but something to consider I think.

Is there any plan to increase rakeback in future? Problem is that rake and rake cap is one of the highest on poker market and rake back is one of the lowest if ur not playing high stakes poker like crazy. Think that make playing on 888 unattractive to alot of players, and u can make really big explosion of game if u change this.

Agree that returns could be a little better for small volume players. But low returns and high rake makes the games juicier. It's not all about numbers.

I only received £583
But according to the pound to dollar rate i should of received £605

When i withdraw if i choose Preferred withdrawal currency in dollars or pounds i still get a bad rate of exchange.

In the cashier tab i only have a choice to withdraw to credit/debit cards.

Is it possible to withdraw using money bookers or neteller, and would this be a better method ? im unsure if moneybookers or neteller give good exchange rates and if they charge a fee.

It's best to keep everything in the same currency and let your bank do the exchange when the rates are good (or whenever you need it). Yes, MB has better rates than 888 but still not as good as most banks I'm aware of.
