“Turrrrible” Denies Eduardo “EduardoGarla” Garla Sunday Mega Deep Title
The $215 buy-in Sunday Mega Deep easily surpassed its $80K GTD by drawing 311 players who rebought 139 times. That generated a $90K prize pool paid out to the top 40 spots including “SteveyBG” (34th - $522), “tigerhoods62” (22nd - $900), “Farrugia_1” (12th - $1,800), “youler” (8th - $2,250), Christophero “Dustyourfish” Coloumbo (4th - $7,200), and “Urindeep****” (3rd - $9,900).
It took 10 hours and 38 minutes, but eventually the UK’s “Turrrrible” bested Brazil’s Eduardo “EduardoGarla” Garla in heads-up play to win $17,550.
Johannes “TrollKonst8” Korsar Slays the Whale for $25K
The $1,050 buy-in, $60,000 GTD Sunday Whale saw 48 players take to the virtual felt and rebought 19 times to create a $67,000 prize pool. Among those to compete but fall short of making the money were Jans “Graftekkel” Arends, Stephen “Kale333” Van Zadelhoff, and “bluffmagic,” just to name a few.
Among those to make the money were “Farrugia_1” (6th - $3,685), Niklas “tutten7” Ĺstedt (5th - $5,025), “WAFAL” (4th - $6,700), and Alessandro “ZeroNineee” Valli (3rd - $10,050). After 6 hours and 49 minutes, the title came down to a pair of Swedes in “cuadrado12” and Johannes “TrollKonst8” Korsar, with the latter ultimately prevailing to win $24,790.
It marked Korsar’s first win on 888pokre since the March 13 $50K Volcano, which he ook down for $15,086. A week after that, he finished runner-up in the same event for an additional $11,250.
“Crokou888” Wins Sunday GREAT 8
The $88 buy-in, $20,000 guaranteed Sunday GREAT 8 offered up a $23,200 prize pool after drawing 219 players who rebought 71 times. Among the 32 players to get a piece of it were Alexandru “alexos888” Baron (23rd - $232), “mursi17” (14h - $348), XL Eclipse champ “Kaktus26rus” (7th - $812), Christophero “Dustyourfish” Coloumbo (6th - $1,044), and “TripleAceIRL” (3rd - $2,668).
After 7 hours and 18 minutes, the tournament came to an end with the UK’s “Crokou888” prevailing over Germany’s “U_R_MyBank” to win the title and $4,698 top prize.
“wh4tisha3” Adds Sunday Challenge to Go Along w/ Monsoon Title
The $109 buy-in Sunday Challenge snuck past its $40K GTD by attracting 299 players who rebought 106 times. That created a $40,500 prize pool paid out to the top 40 players including Luigi “firgli” Knoppers (30th - $271), “Melapika” (15th - $608), “germaxii” (8th - $1,013), “CoinShipper” (5th - $2,228), andXL Inferno champ “tikkapekka” (4th - $3,240).
After “neverfoldQ5” bowed out in third place for $4,455, the title came down to Romania’s “dErEk_eekk” and Malta’s “wh4tishat3.” After 8 hours and 45 minutes, the latter came out on top to take down the $7,898 first-place prize. You might remember that back in April “wh4tisha3” took down the $10,000 Monsoon for $2,666.
“BrAvEHrT1” Weathers the Monsoon to Tune of $3,323
The $55 buy-in, $15K GTD Sunday Monsoon offered up a $16,250 prize pool after 239 players came to compete and rebought 86 times. Among the 36 players to get paid were Rafael “konnhand” Garcia (27th - $138), “IMDool” (15th - $219), “jarrJaar” (7th - $569), “s.totuli” (4th - $1,381), and “StrbxGrndr” (3rd - $1,836).
After 7 hours and 34 minutes, Canada’s “BrAvEHrT1” defeated Germany’s “neverfoldQ5” in heads-up play to win the $3,323 top prize.
