I need to start this off by saying it's not a complaint about the Party/Borgata/MGM. It is a compliment, even though they gave me a little slap on the wrist.

Yesterday I was playing a $20 satellite to a $215 tourney. There were 5 tickets guaranteed and their mistake was that there was no minimum players for the tournament to run and only 5 signed up. So the tournament starts, and I said in chat that if we all go in it's over and we all get a ticket. I'm in late position and nobody does it so I fold the first hand. Nobody does it the 2nd hand either. The 3rd hand I get AQ and just shove. I get called by 77... as the flop comes a 6th player gets seated... I hit an ace, the pocket 7's gets KO'd and the tournament ends, and the 5 left including the guy who never even got cards getting a ticket.

Just now I got a phone call from a host who I have dealt with several times and has always been great. He told me that they monitor the chat and reported me for collusion. He told me they were talking about pulling the ticket and suspending me but he vouched for me and talked them into giving me a warning and let me keep the ticket... I wish they'd have just put a minimum number of entries in order for it to go off. At the time I didn't see it as doing something wrong because we were going by the rules they set up and I wasn't colluding against another player, but I get it now.

Anyway... they do monitor the chat. They do look for collusion and that's a good thing.

I don't think that's collusion though. Collusion is if you are working with another player(s) against other player(s). Who were you working against there? Under those terms, discussing a chop is collusion.

On the other hand, I've seen players openly collude in chat on other sites, perhaps not even realizing what they were doing, without penalty. There's a decent chance someone just reported you too. Maybe the guy who got knocked out.

Well after reading the last 2 pages, I’m debating if it’s worth driving 2 hours across the border to play a wsop circuit event.

I’d be playing from my car. Anyone know about issues playing in Montauge Township?

Anyone experience any bad disconnects? Again I wouldn’t be on WiFi.

I tried to find this answer in one of the other threads but no luck, so I pose it here...

I am traveling to New Jersey for work next month. I will be there for a week but have lots of downtime. Unsure about live casinos right now, I thought about playing online.

Can I, living in Virginia, deposit real money at WSOP or wherever, play while physically in New Jersey, and (hopefully) cash out before returning home? Or does it require me actually having a residence in New Jersey and proof of that in order to deposit and play?

Ideally, I'd deposit a few days before so my account is ready to play when I get in New Jersey.

Any help is appreciated.

All you need to do is be in the state of NJ to play. You can deposit AND cashout OUTSIDE of the state. You just need to be physically in the borders to play. You don’t need a residence.

Be careful though. I drove up this past weekend and didn’t have a place to stay and it kept kicking me out saying it couldn’t verify my location. WiFi you’ll have no issues. But I was a good 20-30 miles away from the border and got intermittent issues.

Thanks for the heads up, Carl. I just realized WSOP is doing an online thing all month of July and each one starts at 3pm, when most of my work stuff is in the mornings. So that works out great for me.

I would stick with either WSOP or Poker Stars in NJ.

Borgata/Party/MGM will NOT run on any updated MAC computer. I received the below message from its representative and they have no idea when they are fixing this!!

"Thank you for contacting Borgata Online Gaming Customer Service.

In regards to the Catalina OS on MAC we do not have a specific time frame for the resolution as currently this operating system is not compatible with our poker software."

I can't find any discussion of this but evidently none of the NJ Borgata/MGM programs can run on an updated MAC computer (current version is Catalina). I find this surprising since the current MAC software has been around since October 2019.
According to Customer service they have NO idea when this will be resolved. Anyone find a way around this ?- I don't want to downgrade to Mojave.

Thanks.

I think it is absolutely ridiculous the way Party is doing the WPT tickets. If you satellite in, like myself and 100 others have done and you satellite in again you will NOT get tournament dollars. You will only get a 2nd $400 ticket and if you don't need a rebuy you forfeit that money. There is no reason at all to play a 2nd satellite once you win one.

I contacted support to complain about this and also to ask a question about their phased entry. For those not aware you can buy or satellite in and start with 1,000,000 chips or enter a "phased" tournament for $45 and a 100k chip stack. If you make it through 18 levels you advance into the $400 buy in with whatever your chip stack is, so it could be more or less than the 1m starting stack.

My question was what happens if you win a regular satellite and the phased entry. What they said was, your original satellite will turn into a rebuy ticket and you will enter the tournament with your phased chip stack. I might play this one because if you make it one of 2 things will happen... either you improve your chip stack to over a million or you go in with say 700k and you have the ability to take chances to chip up, knowing if you lose you chip up anyway.

Just wanted to ask how many cash tables of 6 max holdem normally run on wsop and stars at 25-50-100NL, I wanted to start playing a little again since I'm in NJ now.

I have been unable to use Borgata poker or WSOP NJ poker on Catalina. It's mind boggling why both platforms are not compatible with the most up to date Mac OS version for so many months.

Hey guys, wondering if anyone can help. I sent in my license, took the day off of work, drove to NJ and couldn't play as the WSOP didn't verify my license. I called and was on hold for 90 min before I finally hung up. Multiple emails with no response.

I'm hoping someone could help...is there anything else I can do from here to get verified so I can put in money? Thanks and hope all of you stay safe.

Don't take the day off work until you are approved to play.

Since you drove to NJ, did you go to a Caesars property to finish the process maybe ?

Don't hang up because you got bored.

Anybody know why the auto time bank is not engaging on an Android or iPad for WSOP NJ? It shows 60 second, but just sits me out. The last 2 days it was auto engaging without even seeing the 60 second countdown at the top I think. Thanks

I did not I was going to play at my friends house. I think waiting on hold 90 minutes without a human ever answering is sufficient time. Someone on Twitter told me it's been 3 weeks. I think they don't want anyone new but don't want to say it outloud.

Might be related to WiFi triangulation.
Some (all?) sites rely on receiving multiple WiFi locations from your computer. If you are in the boonies with no other WiFi hits around you then it can't locate you.
I'm having difficulty in my new house with PokerStars PA. In some rooms it picks up other WiFi from my neighbors but in my office area and some other parts it does not and this kicks me off due to location issues.
Previously was living in a condo-apartment set up with a zillion other wifi signals around me and never had a single problem with location.

Based on that, trying it on a laptop from a rest area or something like that could really be problematic. On the mobile app for the site you will likely be okay.

Played some tourneys on WSOP.com Friday and requested a withdrawal via PayPal on Saturday. How long do PayPal withdrawals usually take?

my apologies if this is covered elsewhere but i couldnt find anything on this

purchased a dell xps 2 in 1 and upon installing the wsop nj app, it has not worked properly. i can play but its a nuisance. two major issues

1. the app doesnt size to the laptop screen. it tends to be either too small to read or to large for the screen. makes it very difficult to navigate the lobby
2. the chat doesnt appear. for any chat, mine or any other player, all i get is the players name and ...

i've contacted support weeks ago but with Covid their responsiveness is awful

thoughts/ideas?

Try going through their online agent option in the cashier (PC/Laptop/iPad only - not phone). Especially if it's after 6pm EST as phone support goes home.

My geolocation didn't work for Friday's monster stack. I finally got through to someone online at 9pm and they had another dept fixed it by midnight, but obviously too late to reg for the MS.

I think they've eliminated chat worldwide - they did it just before WSOP started. No one seems sure if it's permanent or not.

I am unable to download the WSOP software and I am physically in NJ right now, using WiFi. I'm getting stuck at the download page. It says "Our geolocation software is detecting that you are in the East Coast. The WSOP.com New Jersey client is being downloaded." But then nothing happens. Ideas?
