Sportsbook ($677.81 check; Ace Bank)
Requested: 4/20
Processed: 5/6
Received and deposited: 5/9
Check successfully cleared: 5/10

When I deposited the check via drive-thru ATM, a message on the screen said that "as a convenience" they will release some of the funds immediately. I've never seen this before, but my balance showed that they did in fact release about $200 of the check right away.
I've been getting checks from Sportsbook for about 4 years now, and clearing this check was debatably the smoothest process to date.
But anyway thanks for scaring me and almost making me switch banks lol jk

No idea, it just showed up 1 day after being on the skin for about 8 months. I rake a ton, maybe that's why?

What banks are you guys banking with that freeze your accounts for these checks? Why don't you cash the checks at other places?

There are a number of "online poker cashout reports" that you could find via an internet search. The avg check last month was 19.04 days.

Umm, maybe because you don't know they're going to freeze your account until its already happened?

Can checks be stacked? How do you handle a withdrawal for $5000+?

No

You wait 3 weeks to a month to withdraw again or you use a bank wire for $5K if you have them activated. Not sure how long they take though.

Requested a check for $2,500 yesterday, 5/10.

Am i screwed? Based on the information I have read in this thread, even if they do process this, which wont be for weeks, the check will bounce and I may have major issues with my bank? WTF? this sucks lol.

Definitely waiting to return to online poker until stars is legal again.

Cant you cash a check somewhere other than your bank? Any other solutions or advice?

Thanks.

Pretty upset with Carbon right now. I had a check come back as "Refer to Maker", which means the issuing bank wants the check back. I sent all the information my bank provided and it has now been 2 weeks since Carbon has sent me a new check. They are saying that their processor still hasn't responded yet. This should be a top priority for them. Sending bad checks is a real problem.

I have a question: if you do money transfers through credit/debit cards, will it be instant? Or will it still be stalled like all of these horror stories I hear about checks?

What exactly do you mean? Kind of confused on what you're talking about.

Well I know that Carbon Poker used to have a good reputation, and I have been out of the online poker scene for a while, and now I am trying to find the current most reputable poker rooms. At first, I was told that Carbon was starting to deteriorate like Lock, but a lot of reviews online have been saying that they have fast cashouts. I don't exactly know what to believe about this site and I was wondering if these really long waits to get checks when withdrawing only apply to checks, and not to a transfer to my bank account via credit/debit card.

The bold I don't understand what you mean. Transfer to your account via debit? Expound a bit for me.

As far as being like Lock poker, not at all. They've been treating their players like ****, but we've always been paid. Checks are taking about 3 weeks. Right now it seems a lot are bouncing(I've never had one bounce, fwiw) but that is on their processor more than them. While it is a situation to watch, I wouldn't worry too much, yet. If it continues it may be cause for concern.

I wouldn't worry too much about playing here as far as getting paid goes. If you want to catch up on the issues the players have go to this thread http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28.../index397.html and read back like 20 pages. You have to avoid a few morons, but you'll read a pretty good discussion about the current happenings there. It's a pretty active thread.

They also have other options that you may or may not have on your account yet. Referring to Western Union/ Money Gram and bank transfers.

I have deposited 3 checks since 4/3 (Carbon, all cleared) @ DankofAmerica, through the teller with no questions asked. The only incidents I have heard about are those banking with Chase and as far as I know Carbon will reimburse if they do bounce.

Ace bank closed my account for one of these checks, but the two I've had come back refer to maker with were at other banks. So, no, its not a ace bank issue, its a merge processor issue.
