So all of the guaranteed MTTs for PO and Sportsbook are gone?

Ask yourself why they are hellbent on chasing away their loyal customers. There can only be one answer, and it's not a rec model facade.

All of the sundays. If they had added these tournaments to the schedule and just taken out what they were replacing sure they could even run their new 11 mtt and their old 11 mtt AT THE SAME TIME
Because by increasing the overall Guarantees, it's expected that other MTTs that previously would have no problem meeting their Guarantee will now struggle. Take the 12:30 $11 Deep. That had no problem crushing its guarantee before the new schedule, yesterday it overlayed. When there are so many $11s that are regular / deep now, it's not going to be as easy for the previous guarantees to meet their guarantees. Basically Merge is spreading the wealth among multiple tournaments rather than focusing on a couple of big ones.

There definitely is a fine line between big tournaments and spreading the wealth. I think we can all agree there were a lot of flaws with the previous schedule, which is what gave birth to the new schedule. Obviously there are flaws with the new schedule, but hopefully with time there will be balance to a point where there is a schedule that everyone likes.

i read it fine the first time. people dont really differentiate "you work for and represent scummy people" and "you're a scumbag". i'm not going to debate something so painfully obvious, so i'll just leave it with this: if you want something, ask nicely and try to be respectful.

He didn't say that the rep worked for scummy people. He only said, "That's extremely scummy" after being told something that if it had been true would have in fact been extremely scummy. He never referred to anyone as scummy; he only referred to the action that he had been told had taken place as being scummy.

I just got a coupon also.

You have already qualified for Carbon Plus this month, CarbonPoker's highest VIP Tier. Maintaining this tier means you are already eligible for online poker's best rewards and service, including:
CARBON

35% Cash Back
Tourney Entry with VIP Point

Do I really get 35% cash back??

yea I agree stupid move at least bovada has anonymous tables and 4 max to make it true rec model. carbon merge don't have that to rely on just a **** sportsbook. Its move like a move to phase out poker by slowly killing off all the players and focus on the other forms of gambling

Why was the $215 Sunday MTT lowered from $150k to $100k guaranteed. Ive been playing it the past 7 weeks and it always reached the guarantee. If the change was accompanied with a shorter late registration period, its understandable, but I doubt it does.

I would guess because they just added that $215/50k guarantee on Saturday, they want to see how that affects turnout in the sunday $215.

Noticed yesterday that a lot of structures changed on Carbon.

For example, The Dollar Frenzy that used to start with 3,000 chips with a 30,000 add-on is now 2,000 starting chips and a 5,000 add-on..HUGE difference.

People obviously noticed as the Prize Pool was MUCH less yesterday, than it was previously.

Is there a list somewhere of all the Carbon changes that took effect yesterday, October 1st? That would be nice..

What you fail to understand is that the controlling interest in "Merge" is owned by a sportsbook. Call it Sportsbook.com, Jazette or whatever else you want.

They don't want winning players. They don't care if 2p2ers are happy or not. They are a business. A sportsbetting business. Their customers are losing sportsbettors. Not entitled poker players.

In addition, they don't want poker players cutting into their profits. Especially when the cost of those profits is not just a $2500 check but also the processing fees which I am sure are high, and the RISK this causes the overall company because they are obviously breaking the law. See UIGEA, Full Tilt, etc.

They are making these decisions in the best interest of their business. Wrong again Santa.

unfortunately, this. i was going to write a post about how distorted and warped the online poker market is in the US, but it feels like it comes down to this: most of the US-facing poker sites are just feeders to these companies' main business, which is sports betting.

and keep in mind that while online poker is kinda-sorta OK, im pretty sure processing sports bets for ppl in the US is still 100% illegal.

Im sure ROW players will have no problem getting this becuase your still in a competitive market. Carbon has its market cornered and can do as it pleases.

The bolded is vague, non-specific.

If you think that I've failed to understand the relationship between the poker sites and gambling sites you've failed to read my posts about that relationship. I've been virtually the only person writing about that relationship. There's nothing in your post that I haven't already written about both recently and extensively in the forums that have been deleted.

Nevertheless, poker has been used as a gateway drug for their sports betting interests. Without Carbon Poker, who has ever heard of Carbon Sports? As I've stated before, they use poker as a way of bringing new business to their sports betting interests. Why do you think that the thriving poker side of their business has been so important to Bodog for so many years? Even though the poker side of their business represents such a small part of their profits, if the poker side of their business declines so will the sports side.

As a pretty consistent MTT player over the last year I can say that looking at these guarantees throughout the day make me not even want to bother playing until 7PM EST. There was a nice $3K deepstack at 5PM (with 5K add) that had 100-150 runners consistently that is now a $1.5K with 17 runners as of 530PM. No point wasting my time.

Players see these guarantees and get discouraged from even playing. A lot of tournaments that exceeded the guarantees have been diminished or dropped altogether. Why fix something that wasn't broken in the first place? Ah well, just bought 2K14 and have to iron for work tomorrow anyway.
