Does carbon have rakeback or any kind of rewards or rake races?

No flat rakeback on Merge at all since Feb 2013.

Everyone uses VIP programs now with 3 tiers.

VIP tiers on Carbon/Aced require $50 a month in rake for 10% rewards and $500 a month in rake for 15% rewards. There is also a 35% tier but it is invitation only so you may never get access to it. C/A also have a nice promotional budget.

PokerHost (another Merge skin) varies a bit from Carbon/Aced's plan. The percentages are the same but the rake amount/method varies. On PokerHost, it takes $300 of lifetime rake to get the 10% tier and $3,000 of lifetime rake to get the 2nd tier which is 15%. Once earned, the tiers are good forever. The third tier is exactly the same... 35%, but invitation only as determined by Merge management's proprietary and secret formulas.

All rake races offered by affiliates have been discontinued . There are promos that are very rakerace-like such as the current Race2Riches promo on C/A.

Just a glitch in the lobby I'd assume. It isn't open to PH and I'm pretty sure they are doing these "series" just to get people to leave PH. Why else have a "series" that is pretty much identical to your normal schedule with very little increase in the guarantees(for the most part) and only a few unique tournaments added?

It varies according to daylight savings time between CST and EST.

PokerHost has not been allowed to participate in the OPS. The OPS is a Carbon/Aced only tournament series.

Makes you wonder how committed PokerHost is to the Merge Network, doesn't it? You don't have to answer that.

this is the second OPS that PH has been left out of i believe.

PH does have the maximus series though. Are they planning another one soon?

Afaik, Pokerhost wasn't given an option to participate.

Maximus has been replaced by the OPS as far as I've been told. The Players Only side of Merge did a "micro Maximus" a month or so ago and it was pretty dumb.

Like it's been alluded to by others, Poker Host isn't given an option to participate. Carbon/Aced are running these "series" to strangle out Host and steal their customers. Carbon/Aced are owned by the people who own the Merge cashier, Host isn't. I wouldn't be surprised if Host isn't off the Merge network like RPM, Black Chip, and many others before too long.

What I'd say is a bit more dumb is that they'd rather go with the OPS series, sans Pokerhost, which wasn't nearly as successful for any involved as Maximus was, with Pokerhost. I don't get Merge's ineffectual urge to spite Pokerhost. And they seem to repeat less successful ventures rather than capitalizing on far more successful ones.

It's really smart of them in regard to their agenda. For the entire series Poker Host will basically have no nightly guarantees worth playing. So all the players on Poker Host have to make a Carbon/Aced account or deposit on one they already have. It takes a month to get money so if you hit a big score or deposit a lot to cover tournaments it's not like you can just withdrawal and go back to Host. They clearly aren't trying to do a series like the Maximus ones were. Almost all of the tournaments are the same as the regular nightly schedule with guarantees barely even changed.

It seems to me they will do this every few months until Poker Host either leaves or has no players left and goes under. It's no different than what has happened to all the other skins.

While I don't disagree with much of what you've said, I do disagree with the last sentence. It's quite different than the other operators, and that's why PokerHost is still around.

Yeah, don't see that ever happening. WPN would be a perfect home for them...

I had never even heard of them until now. It looks like they are on the Sports Book side though which has nothing to do with Carbon/ Aced anymore so I doubt they care about putting them out of business. Though I am going to look into them now, thanks for the info.

You can't sign up for Odds Maker in the US so probably why no one talks about them. Not a whole lot of people from other countries jumping for the chance to play at a network like Merge when they have real options.
