I think they were concerned the fish were losing their money too fast. 5-10 used to be in the lobby and ran regularly. You were also able to make custom games up to like 50-100 if I remember right. Sigh, those were the days. Making custom tables for Jugador to come donk off thousands upon thousands at was the best.

Anyone else notice this Big Ticket satellite they sent us tickets to has 3 45 min late reg? Why on Earth would you have a satellite with almost 4 hour late registration?

Ah custom games were so fun, iirc you could even customize rules for weird variants. PST KAHN BRING BACK 5/10... some "big action" always good for the site.

Super slow friday as far as cash goes.

3-6 barely runs and it's pretty much the same like 10 people beating each other up with the occasional random when it does. Merge has chased everyone off for one reason or another. Letting PO/SB segregate back in May (and fully in October) was the worst decision ever.

Apparently on SB/PO some people can play 5-10 and some can't see it in the lobby at all. Then of course there are others who can't even play cash anymore. What a train wreck.

One of the benefits of these long late reg periods , late night at work and I still have time to make it home , jump in some solid tourneys and fire off a couple bullets!

It's not going to happen with traffic like it is. And before anyone tells me that it would increase traffic, it wouldn't. It doesn't work that way.

Merge had no choice. Just like Cake had no choice when SB/PO was on the Cake Network. It's part of their contract, they can do as they please with their players.

Does anyone know how to get rid of the tournament popup messages in the lower right hand screen?

What games you looking to play? It's not quite as juicy as it once was, but it's not as bad as many people ITT make it out to be IMO.

ditto. just dl'd from carbonpoker.com, ran installer and it downloads a ~30MB update (why they don't have the latest client on their site is beyond me)

anywho, downloads update then nothing (restart button is greyed out). I can X out, but then just repeats update when i launch.

Merge changed how their alerts work on mac os x and it's so much better now. Alerts no longer get stuck on the screen and overlay tables.

They popup on the top right of the screen like this:

It's the best cash game site for US players IMO. If they had about 30% more traffic and just 27% flat rakeback, I'd probably be content.

One possiblity is that you should make sure that you are running the client as an administrator otherwise the update might not be able to overwrite some files that it may need to. I've been able to log in after the update.

It's not bad if you play under 100NL, but Bovada has about 1,000 more players playing on average. It's far and away the best cash site, as much as I hate to say that.

WPN is pretty good if you play 100NL or above. If you play under it's some of the worst games you will ever play and the rake is absurd including the Beast drop.

How good these sites are all depends on what you want as a player. Merge has great software and so so traffic. Bovada has anonymous tables and meh software w/ great traffic, and WPN has unbeatable games until mid stakes and meh software w/ low traffic on the games that you can make money in pre rakeback/bonuses.

I can't consider Bovada one of the best for 3 big reasons:

- Bovada has a shady past, present, and future. I've heard nothing but bad things about them and there was a recent story about one of their offices getting raided.

- Screenname changes. How can you get reads and notes on players? I don't want to play a long hand version of Rush poker. Plus, look at the endless list of online scandals of which likely NONE would have been detected if players could change their screennames.

- No HUDS. This is online poker 101. I'll play live for no HUDS. Online I want it and I don't want to have to compete against players who found a way to use a HUD because there's always a workaround.

Bovada doesn't even have screen names any more. You sit in seat 6 at a cash table and you're player 6. I'm w/ you, I hate giving Bovada action, but Merge has ran off all of their traffic. Bovada has 1K more cash players on average than Merge.

If I could play more than 5 MTTs a night and get good action at mid stakes NL/PLO I'd only play Merge. I didn't put a dime on Bovada until this spring when Merge started going to sh**. I'd love to play only Merge, but they don't seem to want me to.
