I have been a merges regular for almost 10 years and all i have to say is that the current owners know sht about poker.

Its hard to see how they have been destroying the site with every "downgrade" they make.

Not serious. Bovada must love this network for making theirs look so good.

Got refunded & a few dollars for tourney I was in that shut down. Watching NCIS then Survivor. Easy game. Also time to say a prayer for a 'batch' to be processed today. Drawing closer to me requesting a cashout.

Also, your information is incorrect. Prior to this change, all small blinds were in a 2:3 ratio to the big blind. That had been in effect for over a year. This was a unique structure to Merge gaming tables (minus an odd game here and there @ random sites). The 2:3 ratio was good for the games and produced quite a bit of action.

Now blind ratios are 3:4 or 4:5. I suspect this new change will create more action. The regular fish in these games are action junkies...

Yes, you are correct. Not sure what I was thinking regarding the 2/3 vs 1/3 blinds.

This is the current FLHE lobby w/ no filters

Regarding action... you realize that some of the biggest leaks for these guys was playing too many hands in the SB right? With the new blind structure it makes their play far more optimal. Yes, many will still spew post, but will now make far fewer mistakes pre (meaning they are by default playing better).

I'm about to cash out. I know it will take a long time, but does anyone have experience with whether they take even longer if I withdraw my whole BR vs leaving some behind?

Damn, I thought you were a reg and assumed you had bankroll management under control. Did you bust it at higher than 10nl?

You should be cashed out in the order of the date you request the $ along with everyone else.

Does anyone have any idea why 25nl FR is so unpopular on Carbon? There are 11 tables of 10nl FR running right now (2pm central time), but only 5 of 25nl FR, and usually none after 11pm.

I had 5 buy ins for $10nl when they got rid of $4nl.

4nl was just taken away so some flocked to 10nl. It is the afternoon on a thursday so not too many 25nl fr players. I have seen plenty of 25nl fr action after 11pm ET up to 3am recently. Sometimes there are more 25 fr than 10 fr tables.

I guess Merge changed their FLHE offerings, eliminating 10/20 and 5/10 in favor of 4/8 and 8/16. I don't mind playing 8/16, but eliminating 10/20 is a bummer.

For people looking to primarily play 10/20+, they've just effectively lowered the stakes. I'm sure it benefits their business somehow, so it's tough to argue with that, but it's not in my best interests. Maybe the different blind structures will make up for the lower stakes a bit.

Bovada always has 4+ tables 10/20+ going at night it seems, but the games have really seemed to pick up within the last few days (anecdotal, no real data) and I cant help but wonder if it's bc even more players have given up and moved over to Bovada exclusively . . .

As I see it the problem with the small blind structure change has to do with rake. Beating the rake has always been a problem with LHE. Merge has had a reasonable rake but when they got rid of rakeback and their VIP program that essentially raised the rake making the games a little tougher to beat.

To counter the rake, players generally have to play a little tighter. If the other players play loose, that's great. But it's not in my interest to play loose in a high rake environment.

The problem with the idea of raising the small blind to create action is that it doesn't only force other players to give more action, it also forces me to give more action with mediocre hands. Having essentially 2 Big Blinds in a 6 max game forces me to pay more rake. It's a little like turning the game into a turbo format. That's fine if they lower the rake a little to compensate but that hasn't happened. Unlike the rest of us, I'm sure that Kahn gets great rakeback. But beating these games without rakeback, I think, is going to be a little tougher for the rest of us.

The CPPT Caribbean Tourney seems more like a timeshare sales presentation rather than a poker tournament. The expenses are greater than the buyin. Be prepared to sit through a daily hour long seminar.
