I don't suppose anyone's been invited to the elite level? In any case, max of $250/month is negligible. I guess you would have to use the rest to buy in to tournaments, but from what I've seen the rate is pretty bad.

Any 1 remembers how much 1 had to rake to get 15% before?
I know Carbon was 20,000pts / 2k$ in rake to get 35%.

I've looked at the lobbies for SB/PO vs Carbon/Aced and there appears to be MTT segregation now where there was none before.

It is my speculation that the initial lowering of GTDs is the result of some new segregation, plus the massive increase in amount of tournaments offered (about 80% more MTT offered) and being conservative about how those new MTTs will fare out the gate.

I can tell you that on the Carbon/Aced side of the network they are reviewing GTD data daily with the intention of making adjustments.

This is what it used to be:

I don't know where you got this from, but rake was not adjusted.

I'm gonna make a guess and say the really high point earners will not be invited to Carbon Elite. I'm going to guess that really bad fish, who are huge net depositors will be invited instead, and thus the small number of VIP points required to cash in(1425 for $50) will be about what they are earning before they run out of money.

EDIT: Seems like Merge is moving to a model to keep fish in the game longer, phasing out high volume regulars, similar to the Bovada approach.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Also, regardless of how nutty he/she was and the size of the tinfoil hat, it looks like someone owes that MichelleLee(?) person something on a bet about the VIP program.

Edit: Damn I see you remembered that too. You have the same initials as my real name (SC), someone is going to start to think we are the same person

I see the same thing as him when I go to Player Admin - > Vip Rewards -> Vip Points and Rake.

However, the main FAQ still lists the higher rake numbers.

Sigh...unfortunately this is looking like they just forgot to update their page on the playeradmin

They cannot get to choose who they invite. Players who rake more should be given back more. Anything else is not fair.
I hope they don't make us rake more than 2k$/month for 35%. It's simply not possible with the pathetic traffic for tournaments

So basically Carbon/Aced is the go to for tourney's on merge and sportsbook is the best room for cash games. From what I can tell.

It may not be fair but they can do whatever the hell they want.

Yup. It's not about "fair". It's about profit.

I wouldn't even expect a reacharound.

I don't think that PokerHost's VIP system has changed. It might be a good idea to transfer over to that skin. PokerHost almost entirely has access to the same games as Carbon. Carbon has always been the flagship of the network. It could be that the network has decided to change that perhaps in order to make SportsBook more competitive. SportsBook's VIP system sucks too.

There is just too many tournaments. While the guarantees are low they aren't meeting them because there is a tournament at each buy in level every hour. Pretty terrible.

Not meeting guarantees because they have segregated Carbon/Aced tournaments from the rest of the network

Nothin, I already said what I'm gonna say on the matter, sucks for high volume rakeback grinders, I'm waiting to see how the new tourney schedule shapes up.

The main daily/nightly tourneys added or improved are definitely better then before. I think merge still (especially now) has way too many small GTD tourneys on the schedule. I'm not recommending raising gtds but rather remove a bunch of them and timely place sattys/feeders to a few more of the daily/nightlys. Just seems to be a huge overkill of tourneys for the merge player base.

for example this is one hour of tourneys, i only see 2 sattys.

basically just giving feedback in this thread hoping someone from merge is reading. gla

Not meeting the GTDs is good for all of us though. Obviously I expect after today adjustments will be made which is I'm sure why there was no tournament schedule posted after today aside from the Sunday and Saturday tournaments.

I say congrats on hitting your outs finally. Fortunately I haven't listened to you for the last year and have managed 100%+ average rake return by adapting and hitting the promos hard, whereas I would have significantly less in my bankroll if I had listened to your doomsayer advice all along. There will certainly still be ways to get value playing at Merge for those willing to figure out how and that are willing to overlook their current scumbaggery, or I should say those with enough brains to properly estimate the risk-reward ratio. NH tho, bud. Well played.
