OK, so the list from this thread gets sent to Shane. He then says the people on the list will be put on a "priority list."
First off, I believe him as much as I believe the world is flat. I've heard the "priority list" myself already a few times. It's just another stall tactic. Translation: we don't have any money to pay people, but we'll tell you we're trying to do something about the situation, so in the meantime we can continue to hide the truth and keep taking deposits from from unknowing fools...ie stealing money.
Second, lets just say (by some unlikely hypothetical chance) that there actually is a "priority list," and it actually leads to people on IHTNuts report getting paid faster than others. Isn't this in itself unethical? I mean, shouldn't some poor fool who doesn't know about this report who has been waiting 10 months for a check get their check before someone on this report who has been waiting 6 months? Shouldn't Lock poker simply be paying out people by time of wait? There should be NO NEED for a priority list if Lock poker was a legit operation.
Disgusted. Utterly disgusted.
I've commented on this sentiment several times, but apparently it bears repeating.
This was the same thing I wrestled with as well - but at the end of the day, I can't go door to door and make every person owed by Lock aware of this report. I know if I was waiting 10 months for a check, I'd be hounding every resource I could possibly find to see why in the hell I was waiting so long.
2+2 is the most popular poker forum in the world. Now, I'm not saying the guy waiting that long who hasn't found this place is doing anything wrong - as I've stated, a person's prerogative is truly their own and I don't begrudge them their right to do as they please. But to even say respectfully as you did Woodsman that somehow the players on this list are getting fast-tracked ahead of others is a bit of a misnomer. There are 184 players as of 4pm EST on the report now. This isn't Cardschat or some other affiliate push for a couple dozen folks owed a hundred apiece. This was an organic thing that has grown tremendously in a few months. And these people who've been put through the ringer and had the gumption to seek out information on the subject are getting the attention they richly deserve. Whether that attention leads to them getting what is owed is now on Shane's shoulders.
It's true that Lock didn't need any list of mine to know who they owe, how much they owe, and how many they owe it to. But hopefully, despite every inclination that I agree with mostly in how you view their sincerity, this will lead them to just wipe out their entire "backlog" as they put it. I won't hold my breath on that one, but...in the end, if getting over 100 players paid does indeed happen, then my doing this at least got 100 players paid that perhaps may not have sans the report.
And again, as I've stated, I won't stop running the report until there is zero players on it. So this isn't going to be a flash in the pan, "couple folks get paid out and I let up" type deal. Not in the slightest. I don't stop until the report isn't needed - and that's when everyone's paid in full what they are owed.
