Not only do they not respond to emails, they do NOT currently pay rakeback to newer players, or so it seems...I have spoken with 2 other players who's situation is similar to mine. Just because it says your SN is linked to them on their site, does not mean you are actually getting rakeback. Believe me, I know....

What happened to these guys? I heard Pokerlistings sold them and ever since I heard that I have been hearing complaints.

I take a 6yr+ break from poker, guess my timing was perfect! Such a mess though I don't even feel like dealing with it. Rakebrain FINALLY emailed me back, only to say "we don't know what the deal is" basically, then Carbon shortly after, saying I have just recently been approved for rakeback, when I played thousands of hands previously, under the assumption that I was linked...anyone can feel free to PM me with an affiliate that ISN'T rogue...grrrrrrr.......

Guess I could have done a little more research myself but they have been in business for a while, no??

rakebrain forwarded me to VIP players.com and they have been usEless after a couple of months oF rb they got booted from ongame, they promised to pay outstanding payment but never have.

VIPplayers.com are still offering deals at Purple Lounge and 5050poker.

Issue has been RESOLVED....not by RAKEBRAIN mind you, but the nice folks at IMAWHALE are currently taking care of me like an affiliate should, or any business for that matter. Moral of the story: Do your homework before you sign with someone and/or a company! It will save you time, trouble, and $$$!!!

so is the consensus to stay away from these guys? I signed up with them for rakeback from Cake, and was thinking about doing the same for ACR...

Afaik ppl are not getting paid. I however do not have any accounts with them as they never responded to my repeated emails about a deal. I would stay away just based on fact you cannot get a hold of them.

I tried getting my RB on Cake switched from RakeBrain -> RTR... RTR said Cake wouldn't do it (not like Cake are paying US folks in a timely manner or anything?!).... I've cut my loses and am playing elsewhere now:cool

i have a cake RB account i got from rakebrain from that I havent played on in years, was thinking about going back to cake but dont know if my RB will be paid out after reading all of this stuff about rakebrain issues these days. wondering if i should try to deposit and play on there or if its safer getting rb on another revolution site from somewhere else?

Judging by the responses in this thread and other similar threads, it probably makes sense to go somewhere else. Lots of sponsored threads from fairly good affiliates here on 2p2 + the rakeback form.

Rakebrain and VIPplayers were the same group? VIPplayers.com is down or was the site veryimportantplayers.com? Rakebrain was owned by Pokerlistings. Does anyone know the story about how they changed hands and who bought them?

I also notice several rooms on the list at Rakebrain that are closed and rakeback percents on wrong on many rooms. I am thinking it is time to post a warning about them. Does anyone have details on how they got to this point?

We have worked with them until earlier this year and can't say anything but good things about them from that period. (not defending their actions now, just adding time line info for reference). Did the selling happen later than that or earlier?

I was first told in May about Pokerlistings no longer being involved in it. The complaints were already coming in but the sale could have certainly been well before that.

Nobody has any information about the Rakebrain and VIP connection? I guess players are still not getting paid?

I can't speak for everyone but my experience with VIP/Rakebrain went like this... In about mid January of this year I received a PM from rakebrain directing me to Veryimportantplayers.com.

I got a deal on Lock (obv when it was still on Merge) and it was good until about March/April. Around this time Merge began to really crack down on under the table deals. Almost about that time my player manager was unavailable on skype. (You can check the veryimportant players thread) and I did not talk to him for months. My deal had also stopped being honored as well.

In about May out of the blue my player manager pops up on skype apologizes for everything swears to pay everyone back. He claimed that someone had ratted him out about his deals. I am not saying this is RPM's fault, around the time that Merge began their crack down was right after RPM poker had a thread in their sub forum offering to match any rakeback deal that any competitor was offering. (To me it sounded like them just going after the other skins and gettng affliates in trouble). Per the VIP thread, it seems VIP was giving deals on other networks that they were not supposed to. Long story short I was told they lost all of their deals.

When Lock left to make Revolution, I got a random email from VIP about how they might be able to offer my deal once the move happend, but other than seeing another player manager (or could be same one with new skype name) I have not been paid owed rakeback. I contacted Lock to see if I was tagged under an affiliate and I am not.

Not sure if this helps at all but this is my experience with VIP/Rakebrain. I'm not sure if VIP was Rakebrain with a new name but they are both horrible and owe people lots of money.

I find it pretty absurd that rakebrain is back advertising on here when there are at least 2-3 threads claiming that they were ripped off by Rakebrain/VIP. I know 2p2 needs to make money but having a site advertise that has a history of not honoring their deals should not be allowed to advertise IMO.

I searched that forum for the keyword "rakebrain" and the most recent post was from October 30th 2011. Can you link to the thread? I don't see any ads in that forum either.
