This is from my friend, he doesn't have an account here so he just sent me basically a long rant of his process with Ignition. Its pretty ridiculous. If you want to merge this into the Ignition thread, feel free. Just figured I would post this and they need to make a serious change with advertising allowing NY players.

He sent me this...

"So since you told me about Ignition, I decided I wanted to try to play some online poker again as it has been a few years since I played. You told me you were on Ignition so I opened an account. Immediately when I opened an account it says I was not able to deposit.

I then called them and they told me I had to send my license and a bill. I sent them the documents on 1/3/18 at 7:17 PM -

I then get an email back at 1/11/18 8:52 PM saying "Hi Edward,

Thank you for sending your document.

For us to complete the verification process, you are required to send another proof of address (preferably phone bill).

Please ensure that the proof of address is complete and you capture the whole image showing the following: the company logo, your name, current address and date when it was issued or billed (preferably December, 2017 - onwards).

Kindly send the required documents in PG or PDF format via email to verification@Ignitioncasino.eu."

At which at that time I send them again another utility bill (Spectrum bill) at 5:48 PM that same day 1/12/18.

On 1/17/18 they email me back - "Hi Edward,

Thank you for sending us a copy of your documentation.

The submitted information regarding your proof of address has been verified.

For us to discuss the status of your account, we kindly ask that you contact us at 1-855-370-0600.

Regards,

Financial Services"

I was on the phone for 38 minutes and finally get told " Ok your account is activated, enjoy"

I log onto the site and go to deposit. It says "Deposits are not available at the moment, please call"

Which leads me to right now, 1/18/18 - I call them up and was on hold for 43 minutes, whatever. I get a rep on the phone who then proceeds to tell me, Bitcoin is NOT an option for you. I am baffled. I said if bitcoin is not an option, then how do I play? He says, I don't. I am furious.

I ask to speak to a supervisor. I get some lady on the line who then proceeds to tell me the same thing. I am sorry sir, you are not allowed to deposit via bitcoin. You can use play money if you would like. WHAT?!

Obviously I am super mad at this point... Why the hell did they let me create an account, ask me to send in documentation and take their sweet ass time reviewing it, just to say "Oh yeh, sorry about that!"

I then asked for more clarification on who said I cant use bitcoin when others I am being told are. She says "Sorry, I am not at liberty to tell you who said what" I asked to speak to a manager and she refused. Said she handles the calls.

What a joke. Super pissed about the entire experience. From what you told me, NY players were allowed and the fact that YOU STILL play makes it more frustrating. "

Cliffs: Ignition poker and Kahn's site says they allow NY players again
I currently play there as well as other NY players
Friend opens account
Waits 2 weeks for them to verify documents that he lives in NY
Says hes able to finnally play
Tries to deposit and it says you cant
Calls and talks to rep and supervisor who say yeh "sorry!"
Pissed off
No profit

Something is missing here. I did not read anything about ignition stating that he could not deposit because he's in New York. Your friend said it. Give us more.

This particular information on Kahn's website comes from Ignition's website:

Quote:
2.3. Use of the website and associated services are expressly prohibited from the following states: DE, MD, NJ, NV. Any account accessed from a restricted state will have all access rights revoked and any balance contained in the account may be considered void. You are required to notify us immediately should you intend to relocate to or visit a restricted state, your account will then be placed on a temporary hold or permanently closed dependant on the circumstance with any balance available being returned to you. Any attempt on your part to circumvent these restrictions by any means will result in your accounts closure and any balance considered forfeit.

Here is a direct link to that document:

An astute observer may also note the language is different on Bovada, which serves US players and shares the same tables/games:

Isn’t your site professional rakeback? It says NY players are now welcomed via bitcoin.

Not trying to push any real thing in you. This is 100% ignition and their problems. I just know I am NY and can play as well as others.

And they let my buddy open an account, request documents just to say thanks but you still can’t play.

They proabbly had to change it since they dont mod the chat like other sites. They were probably copping complaints from fish and then acted. But this doesnt sound like ignition - so who the fluck knows

I don't know what level of communication you think sites have with affiliates, but it almost certainly isn't what you think.

If a site takes down a payment processor, there is no ALERT! ALERT! sent out via SMS. No one is told about it. For that matter, no one at Ignition announced they were allowing New York. We just happened to notice the Terms of Service on their website changed when updating our review. In fact, I think that was probably only a month ago or so that we noticed... who knows when the policy was actually changed.

So if New Yorker's are currently unable to deposit via Bitcoin, it is news to me. I don't live in New York so I can't test it personally.

Maybe they can deposit with Bitcoin Cash? Maybe Ignition is tired of paying $30+ to get deposits and withdrawals to go through and is not using Bitcoin at the moment. Maybe they decided to reverse their policy on NY yet again and just haven't updated their ToS. In any case, I haven't been made aware of such a thing. And for that matter, I do not expect to be notified. That's just not how things work in this business (as silly as that fact may be).

I suppose that until others come in to confirm or deny an ability to deposit with BTC, it should be treated as a YMMV situation.

What's up with the chat bubbles showing up next to players who don't even make a comment??

It happens like that just when you hover your mouse over in order to block them. Pretty annoying.

After playing a bunch since update here is my guide for avoiding the 97%. I only play zoom so that's my only experience:

-Join one table at a time instead of 2
-Don't click on or try to resize the table until it fully loads and you're dealt a hand
-If you still get 97%, restart the client and repeat

thanks, but unfortunately it's not the 97% problem. the client loads, but any time i join a cash/zoom table it's just stuck on "Ignition Casino" and no sort of loading bar. it works on my laptop at least, lol.

i reinstalled the client, restarted internet & pc, turned off firewall/anti-virus, let it sit there for 30 minutes, few other things...

fuggggggggg... i'll just try tomorrow..

ty though <3 good luck at your tables!!!

Just to rehash bovadas treatment of NY players. They froze my account about 18 months ago, as I had "no cashout options" and stole the 120000 points i had built up on there in there nonsense 3% rb platform. Had been grandfathered in and allowed to play for a while before that. Not ignition but moral of the story is bovada sucks and has no consistent pattern in which they treat their TOS, so its not at all shocking.

I can bare with the absloute **** software, but the decision to take away chat kills it for me. I loved chatting while I played. There is nothing like a good online poker chat box blow up. I've never really considered depositing on a different site, but I definitely am now.

Policing the chat is a waste of time and resources.

I think it was a good move. Too many people abuse the chat so they simply minimized it by allowing basic chat functions and a few emojis.

Did you come here to chat or did you come here to make some money?

As far as the software goes , it is running smoother than ever!

This is a pretty terrible attitude. Recs/fish, the people who are what make ignition so good, care about having a good time. If they weren’t having fun they wouldn’t be playing poker.

i was playing from ny i had something similar happen but i did cash everything out via bitcoin in either sept or oct of 2016.
they did steal my points and told me if i ever tried to make a new account they would close it and take my money.

Thanks.

What kind of UI rejects did they hire to make these atrocious design/interface decisions?! If I worked there and tried this feature out, within 30 seconds I'd be asking my coworkers if were just ****ing with me because it's such a bad idea.

Then there was that ridiculous font they rolled out a while back. Again, within 30 seconds anyone with half a brain noticed how terrible it was on the eyes. Thankfully they changed it back but the fact that it ever went live is just lol

These same **** ups are the ones who gave us that blindingly white bar that's STILL at the top of every table. I thought for sure they'd remove it as to me it's almost as bad as that font was but no such luck.

Then there's the table resizing debacle that hasn't been fixed. ****ing morons.

You mean like when there is a juicy game with a fish who is playing so poorly that it looks like he is *trying* to give away money and someone keeps laying into him about how bad he is and how he is going to give it all back and "I checked Pro Poker Tools and I was a 3-to-1 favorite when we got it in" and 20 minutes later he's still rehashing the same hand? Yeah, **** those guys. They're why we can't have nice things.

But I agree that adding the mute option was enough if they were just trying to curtail the abuse.

I haven't played on Ignition since they were called Bovada. I'm looking to get back in. I always played the double up SNGs. When I left there was quite of bit of stalling and i suspected too much cheating as these games are the most susceptible given their nature. My questions are can anybody speak about those those two problems and the softness of the games now compared to 18 months ago?
