PokerStars: Burnt down the ticket, that should have been valid 10 years PokerStars: Burnt down the ticket, that should have been valid 10 years

Hi) I performed a task on PS, so I received the ticket to the freeroll, in which I won the ticket to PCA satellite of 530$ in size. The validity period of this ticket had to expire only in 2027. Even if I won a package, I wouldn't fly to the Bahamas this year. As terms permitted, I decided to not realize my ticket immediately. On sunday, November 12th, I found out, that it isn't in my tournament tickets. Then I wrote to support and got an answer like: "Period of validity of the ticket "$530 PCA Ultra Sat Ticket" has expired on November 8, for this reason it is more inaccessible". I objected, then they sent me a document, in which date of the expiration of the ticket match with date that declared support.

I began to doubt in my oun memory, so I tried to find information on the Internet. At one of forums I saw someone's screenshot with a prize of the same ticket, in which the term of the expiration was also dated 2027. I'm not sure, is it ethical to spread other's screenshot.
Has anybody ever encountered this problem? Can I count on some compensation from poker-room? And how can I affect this?
Thank you)

These tickets were for the Ultra Satellite for the PCA. The expiration date was most likely an error, but that doesn't change the purpose of the ticket which was to play one of the two PCA Ultra Satellites.

Please write to support@pokerstars.com in your native language and ask them to translate forward the email thread to me (David Lyons).

I am sure that playing the ultra sat was Pstars intention but to the player the intention was to play prior to 2027 as was what Pstars allegedly advertised.
If that was the date then Pstars needs to honour that.

Do you think a 10 year expiry on a ticket to satellite into a specific live event is a reasonable expectation for the customer?

PokerStars clearly didn't intend to commit to running the PCA for 10 years, let alone the same satellite programme for a decade.

I'm struggling to believe OP really thought the above commitments were intended to be made.

The OP definitely believed what he posted. Common sense is not particularly common, however if the wrong date was listed then Stars should give some compensation as well.

I remember that at some point I had some promotional (but open for any event, I guess from some deposit bonus) 2,2$ tickets on my PokerStars account which had 25 years validity time or so. They disappeared at some point.

Too much hassle for me to take contact for useless customer support, but just wanted to bring up. Not too much trust for PokerStars tickets either, nowadays I would try to use them as fast as I can (useless freeroll tickets I just let expire).

Possibly, Pokerstars should take a certain responsibility, if they have declared such terms. I think they can specify right validity period to avoid similar situations, isn't it? And, as it is written above, I would never postpone the ticket for later term.

For all my objection the region support has the same answers, but with different formulations. So I wrote to the international support and received such answer:

Hello, Lautrec,

Thank you for follow up on the $530 PCA Ultra Sat Ticket.

Your case has been escalated and I will do my best to address your concerns.

As per Special Offer Details and Rules, any PCA prize packages and/or tickets won are non-refundable and cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash unless you win two or more packages, in which case the additional package(s) will be exchanged for T$.

Additionally, $530 PCA Ultra Sat Ticket won in a Freeroll is meant to be used for Road to Bahamas Ultra Satellite only. We can confirm that initial expiry date was set to 2027 in order to keep open options for future alternative satellites. But since we are not planning to run any similar satellite in future where this particular ticket could be used, the ticket automatically expired after Ultra Satelite finished.

In conclusion, unfortunatelly, we cannot offer you anything to replace this ticket and I regret not being able to be the bearer of better news, but our decision in this case is final.

Thank you for understanding on this matter and apologies for any inconveniences caused.

Kind regards,

Dennis

PokerStars has created reputation of the reliable poker room, that deserves trust. So I've used to trust for 100% information from official website or from lobby. That's why I thought that information in lobby can't be incorrect. $530 - a large sum for me, I' ve never play so high. It would be awesome, if I had a possibility. Of course I would play a tournament earlier, if period of validity of the ticket was true. All this situation causes in me huge chagrin and undermines confidence to poker-room in general.

Stars admits expiry was initially set to 2027.

They owe you a $530 ticket.

Absolutely shocking that modern pokerstars believes its acceptable to drastically shorten ticket expiry dates without compensating their customer

Hi, everybody! I have the same problem. I apologize for my bad English, I'm from Russia.

I won the ticket "$ 530 PCA Ultra Sat Ticket" and the validity was until 2027.

And Russian support answered me that I can use this ticket in other PCA satellites before expiration. The satellites were held until November 13.

On November 9, my account was blocked and asked to send documents for verification. I sent it.

Three times I asked the support reason for the block, but I did not answer. And the reason I do not know until now.

November 13, I was unblocked, but there is no ticket. I wrote to the support and I was told that "We see that the ticket expired on November 8"

Why did not they notify me by e-mail about the change in the validity of the ticket?

I lost the ticket because of the wrong date and because of the answers of the Russian support, which led me astray.

I apologize for the confusion, here is the link to the full post in the Russian forum

Let the Russian support yourself translates my full message for the English support.

PokerStars MGMT posting in this thread above, so hopefully some amicable solution will arise.

PCA is in a bit less than 2 months, so one would hope that they schedule another sat tournament, or 2, (maybe not with the same seats GTD) before that time. Email everyone whose tickets similar to the above expired and tell them about the upcoming tournament(s). Give a couple of weeks notice for the players so there would hopefully be limited complaints

Email from Dennis/StarsSupport really dug them into a hole about them thinking that they would possible run more of these tournaments.

If they run more $530 tournaments to any live events in the future, the tickets should also be valid for them, if there is push back on another PCA safety before then. 12 months expiry should be more than enough
