By the way, could you explain in what way N8 has free reign? (I'm simply curious as a player.. )
The player had to verify with the skin, internally. When it went to real names, his name was in the database and banned. Not a pro or anti comment, just how it came about. I think that is proof that N8 has their own support/back office.
I'm not privy to N8's deal obviously, but would guess they would have put up more capital, created their own independent back office, and run pretty much as a stand alone site. They share player pool with GG, but can add their own games at will, make special deals, have far different affiliate agreements, etc.... There are sites that cater to very specific regions, too.
I have an interest in buying a skin from some network in the next 12 months. I've looked into the possible deals from more than one site. This seems to be pretty standard. You can operate as a mirror and use the network's entire back office and support or go almost independent and the minutia details are not just a template. There can be great leeway depending on the commitment of energy, staff, and capital.
It's not a GG thing, sites that offer the opportunity to own/run a skin on their network all negotiate this. The group that runs GG is out of Canada and my personal history in speaking with them was nothing but courteous and professional. I openly asked questions and at no time were their answers evasive or vague. They have two pet peeves across their network, use of AI and bumhunting, direct or indirect. They will issue a warning and if the activity does not change immediately they will no hesitate one second to lock up the account. The big public cases, to my knowledge, closed by having the principal deposit returned and the balance refunded to the players affected (not vouching or declaring it is absolute, just what I read).
I do have firsthand knowledge of players that have won over my year of exposure with the network and they still play, deposit, and withdraw as they like.
Some skins offer different deposit bonuses, private games, cashier options, and even verification processes.
