fulltilt account hacked

I have returned to fulltilt about a month ago, after playing on another site.My account has been hacked and my money (2000 dolars) was stollen, trasfered to some player, which they say that is not to blame because his account has been hacked as well.I have contacted support quicky after the incident(about 2 hours). They replied late and told me there was nothing to do.They can t refund my money beacuse it will creat a loophole for dishonest players.Like what are they impling? That i stoll my own money?I m a winning player( alex_florea on fullltilt) why would I do that?Plus they surely know where the money is,they have control of the site, they can trace it,but seems like they don t what to.Why else are we supposed to wait 7 days when we withdraw?not so they can check the money etc?I have raported the incidend imediatly its not as if it took me 2 weeks and they lost the trace and the money was withdrawn.

I didn t give my password to anyone this was their securities fault. 2000 dolars means alot in my country and this is the end of my poker career, its not enough i have to worry about variance and ****,now i have to worry about someone accesing my account with no problem and taking my bankroll.

If you have a fulltilt account just be carefull, you money is not is save as you might think.

Re: fulltilt account hacked

How do you know it happened recently? It could have happened a month ago when you stopped playing there.

The reason they can't just refund you is probably because the money was dumped to legit players. They can't take it away from them just because you were hacked. If they could then everyone would scream "hacked" after a big loss. If it was only transferred and withdrawn then they would have a chance to take action.

Re: fulltilt account hacked

How exactly did the $2k leave your account? Doesn't look like they chip dumped, so it must have been through transfers.

If it was transferred there should be a papertrail for them to follow. There should also be IP addresses to confirm your account was logged onto from other locations. If you consistently played from the same computer, there should be proof that a different IP logged onto your account.

But seriously, if $2k meant that much, you should have had a lot more security on your account then a simple password. This added protection is now available for very little FTP or Ironman.

Sorry to hear about your loss and hope you can get to the bottom of this and get some money back.

Just some observations:
a second account was involved; no trail of where the $$$ went

most hacked accounts are done through account e-mail or sharing pc or password with friend or family member. Rarely is it the sites fault other than them allowing foreign or new IP to do strange things with an existing account.

the last 4 games would appear to be part of the 'hi-jack'.

the time ^^ is ~8:30 am Romanian time (OP's) which is unlike any previous recorded playing time

there is a $550 hu sng chip dump from madge119, an account with no previous stake > $10

no more activity so a transfer was likely done.
the existance of the chip dump indicates 2 or more accounts are involved. Unless OP knows the owner of the madge119 account, then someone gained control of an extra account making this less likely to be a friend or family member accessing OP's account(as we often see here).

musashi1584 - any sign in your e-mail of a security/password problem?
- do you know madge119?

Re: fulltilt account hacked

Wait so someone hacked into his account and dumped chips into his account?

Would think the flow of money out had to be a P2P transfer, and FT should be able to trace where the money went and the IP address was not yours.

Now this would be cause for concern that FT let a player transfer go through that was not originated by your normal IP address, and for a substantial portion of your BR.

I think you need to be a lot more forceful with FT and demand contact with security to look into the flow of money out of your account by transfers.

As always it seems,

Rainbow Warrior comes through with the research.

Perhaps this is a known fact, but seriously, do you work for FTP at all doing this RW, or do you just do this on your own time to help out the people in question?

You are an asset to this site my friend, keep up the good work!

I like to help.
It's just that most of the problems are FTP related.

Kudos to SharkScope and PokerTableRatings for caring and each donating an account for 2+2 security purposes.
The transfer thread (stats link) has become a much safer place to trade.

Re: fulltilt account hacked

I think I could save a lot of time by automatically changing the titles of all these "My XYZ poker site account was hacked" to "My email was hacked" without even opening them.

No evidence of that here yet, but chances are very good that's what it was.

Re: fulltilt account hacked

I have suggested to fulltilt to check my Ip and see that it doesn t match with the one making the withdraw/transfer.I don t know if i played that player,i might have but not many time(i played a few players from Hungary but can t remember their names). The money was then trasfered to a diferent player, how support says is not involved(he s been hacked as well from what they say).I did not give my password to anyone!not even my family, why would i do it?they have no busyness in poker. My account was hacked on that day, how can it have been hacked a month ago if i didn t have any money on it a month ago(redeposited a month ago).I played the previous day about 25 husngs.Got up at 9 am romanian time and saw my money gone.I recived some emails from fulltilt and saw that it was transfered at about 6:50.I emailed them imediatly telling them it wasn t me,to check my ip and retransfer me the money. They said they can t because the money had already left the site. What?in less then a day?who widthdraw money from fulltilt(or any other site) in less then a day?Do hackers have priority or what?i dont think he lost the money, could have easily lost it on my account(seeing that he did play 1 match). He trasfered it to keep it i guess. But again shouldn t fulltilt know all this? I have no way of knowing,i told them i didn t know the player it was trasfered to.but they could have searched further(if he wasn t envolved).Track the money.I have announced the robbery in 2 hours.Where did the money dissapair in 2 hours? How can this not be their securities fault for leting someone acces my account(and no i don t have spyware on my comp), and after it happened and i told them they didn t act quicky to fix the problem.Their slow response was my fault too?I didn t know about the pin number,i didn t think this thing would be possible.Surely not on fulltiltpoker at least. The bottom line is that they didn t investigate anything, they just told me sorry and moved on.how can this be fair?Of course you can point fingers etc,but this could have been you just as likely and i doubt you would like the situation and just say aah it was bad luck.I trusted this site, and my money was stollen.

Re: fulltilt account hacked

Yes it is amazing.Yet fulltilt seems not to care about these information. The money was trasfered from a diferent IP(from Hungaria most likely as it would seem) and 2 hours later i report it from my usual IP from Romania. It takes more than 2 hours to get from Romania to Hungaria, why would i go to all this trouble for 2000?I don t understand why the site allowed all my bankroll to be trasfered from an IP i never played on,in a hour of day that I never played.Even if that didn t seem fishy to them at the time,I don t see how it can t be their fault, once i repport the robbery after a short while and they do absolutely nothing. What can i do?I did insist that they do some more research, even told them about the IP,they responded that their decision is final and blocked my email.I can t even send them a email now.Is this fair?

Re: fulltilt account hacked

I doubt that FT did "nothing".
They've been much more proactive lately in tracking down scammers and cheaters.

I'm just guessing but if your account was hacked by a pro he would have had a way to move your money through a few different accounts withdrawing and chip-dumping along the way.
He could even have been lost $$$ to legitimate players - some hackers like to take shots at big stakes.

I'm also guessing that they blocked your e-mail because you've sent them many angry e-mails with nothing new.
The hack was from your end (many different possibilities) and they can't/won't track down where the funds went.

I asked earlier if your e-mail account had been tampered with.
Give us any transfer info from your account history if you can.

If your e-mails were numerous and as hyper and accusatory as your posts I might block you, too.
Why didn't you post this transfer 3 days ago?

gigt05 is a dormant FT account with no recorded play since January.
FT really drops the ball if they allow accounts like gigt05 to receive and send all $2500 after not playing for 9 months.
Try e-mailing security@fulltiltpoker.com one more time and ask them if there is no money left in the dormant gigt05 account then where is it and why was it allowed to move?

Be somewhat civil and the harassed workers there might be more likely to help you out.

Funny coincidance. Just(hour ago) have readed an article in history magazine about Greenpeace ship - Rainbow Warrior.

edit (RW) - more coincidence - you mention that and I just saw this in another thread:

roommate, relative, internet cafe logon, hotel logon, router/pc security fail, IP/e-mail/site hack, IP/email/site employee corruption and more

This looks organized though because of the 2+ other FT accounts being accessed

Somebody had a "key"
