Hello all,

This is my first post, I usually post on other forums, I also posted this matter there but people told me I could better to to this forum, so now I'm here =].
I have recently recieved bad news concerning my FTP account.
When I was in a hotel in Prague, I tried to log in to my account on FTP, but it failed, stating 'The system cannot log you in. Please contact loginsupport@fulltiltpoker.com for assistance.'

And so I did.
The reply I got shocked me,, It seems I'm guilty of fraudulent activity on Full Tilt Poker.

Now I know I have to share as much information as I possibly have regarding this, so I'll do my best now;
My roommate (let's call him person A) at Prague told me afterwards his account had been frozen, so that probably would be the reason why my account got frozen too. Just as me, another roommate, (person B), didn't know, so he logged in to FTP and got frozen too.

All the 3 of us sent a mail to FTP, A and B got their account back and they can simply play now.

But with me there seems to be a different situation..
I do play at different IP's because I travel alot and visit other friends of mine (who also sometimes play the same tournaments, for instance on Sunday's).
So yes, regarding IP adresses, and also since I have a brother who plays poker professionally too, I probably have some connections with players who play at the same IP and sometimes the same tournaments.
But, this has been going on since I started playing poker, and that's at least more than 2 years now, though I never had this kind of trouble..

I know quite a number of (high stake) players in the Pokerscene, so I transfer alot of funds to people (not only to people in my own country). The only other thing I can think of is 'contaminated funds/accounts'. As in: I transfer money to player C, player C transfers to D, and player D has done something wrong --> D gets his account banned or something, and in that way I am somehow related. Because I an somehow related, I am some kind of 'threat' to the integrity of FTP's site, so my account gets permabanned too..

Anyways, these are the only things I can think of which could relate to this subject, but again, I've been traveling, transferring, and playing everywhere for more than 2 years, so I don't really understand why I'm getting this now..

Could somebody help me somehow? Since I play alot of tournaments online, I really can't 'afford' not being able to play on FTP ever again..

Here's the e-mail's between me and FTP:

Hello Full Tilt Poker,

So let me get this straight.

Because of some unknown, vague reason, I am suddenly unable, and there is no possible way, to ever play at Full Tilt Poker again?!

FTPSean is your best solution. Although I don't think you can send/receive PM's with only 1 post.

Playing from the same computer as another sends a red flag up pretty quickly. It sounds like you have made some bad choices from what has been written. Like Xorc1st said you might try FTP Sean. To get pm privileges you need a certain # of posts or try contacting a mod at forum-master@twoplustwo.com for immediate access.

Moral of the story: Don't play online poker at your friends house, or let him play poker on your computer. This type of situation occurs all the time. Every couple days there is a post exactly like this one and they are all the same.

Either you transfered funds to someone who cheats, or you used the same computer as a cheater. Why do either of those activities? You put your account at risk.

Ouch, playing on another FTP players computer is like dancing with venereal disease. It's always going to bubble your nuts at some point in time. Didn't you know of the potential for problems like this?

Please tell us that you at least didn't transfer money to the accounts whose computers you shared.

an acquaintance of mine came over and made a poker account at pokerstars on my computer. i tranferred him some funds to get him started. apparantly he already had an existing account (which had apparantly been frozen due to some sort of fraudulent activity). then he played on my computer. then my account got frozen due to association with this guy. i emailed pokerstars, and they told me the screen name of the guy who my association with froze my account. they also gave me the screen name of his original account. they asked me to exlain my relation to this guy, and to verify my identity by sending them copies of my drivers license, my bank statement, and my utility bill. after i did these things, my accoont was unlocked and i can play again.

moral of the story: pokerstars is much more leniant than fulltilt.

IMO we really need a sticky on account closing. It would def reduce these threads... Everyone should read about past experiences before posting, then the people who 2+2 can actually help would get the attention they need.

This is not meant to trash you OP, you got my sympathies. Just commenting in general.

FWIW, I am involved in a similar situation at this point.

I had an account at FTP a couple years ago...very small. I cashed it out and
moved to PS.

Last week, after attempting to access the old account, I opened a new account;
I didn't have password or email for the old account.

I had no problem opening the new account using all the information that I used on
the old account. No deception used or intended; the old account was empty and
hadn't been used in two years.

For several days I logged in to the new account, watched Durrrr and Urnotindanger2 play, and generally checked out the games.

This weekend, very shortly after funding the account, I got a message stating that the new account had been closed due to the existence of the old account.

I can no longer access the new account and couldn't access the old account, and, of course, information from FTP is non existent.

At this point, it remains to be seen whether FTP will return the monies they've seized;
I'm not holding my breath. I suppose it's a $500 lesson learned. I am hopeful that they will flip the "win" switch for me to make up for my troubles if the money is returned.

Yes. For someone who says they know many poker players and have been playing years you seem pretty naive.

/facepalm it's against site terms to create 2 accounts.

http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/site-terms

Players are not allowed to create, use, or deposit to more than one account. Players who are found to have multiple accounts or to have allowed multiple users to access their account may face account suspensions or revocations, and forfeiture of their accumulated Full Tilt Points and real money balances.

full tilt is absolutely the worst with shutting accounts down. i made an account a few years ago by referral of a friend, so he was getting my rakeback. recently i stopped being friends with him and didnt want him to get my rakeback. i emailed ftp and they said there is nothing they could do. so i opened a new account under another name, so i could get rakeback, sent in all the documentation they needed. played on it for a few weeks then asked to close my first account, cause i was going to open another later in my own name. when they did that, the new account i made was closed. because we were using the same computer and ip. so i made a 3rd account with my girls info. i changed my ip and mac address, after a week it got closed again. i think it was because i deposited with my debit card on her account. anyway, they owe me 17k, which they say they r sending me, but we will see. so now i have to change my ip and mac address again, find someone else who will let me use their identity and deposit with their banking info. its a huge hassle. they treat me like im a criminal. which sux because i love playing there, i think its the best site out there for poker. they catch people quick, they must have a huge security team or very sophisticated software to track all info

Do you mean "best"? everything you have done and plan to do is wrong and if you carry on the way you intend to then not only should they close your multiple accounts they should confiscate any money that you have.

They didn't say a thing about it.. all I know is stated in the mails I posted.

And about me bing a low count poster, what does that have to do with the experience of the player? At first, I always post at Dutch sites, and second, there are plenty of higher stakes players who don't post at forums.
So I don't really see how I should be treated any differently than the other 'regulars' here on 2p2.

Sure, I could post reply's on different topics. If that's what needed to be done to get further with this, I will do it
A lot of Dutchies sometimes play at other peoples homes and transfer money to their friends (swap stars->ftp etc), the things I've done to cause this trouble isn't that rare here. Honestly didn't know ftp would make such a big deal out of this!

Posted before but relevant to this thread.

Golden rules for not getting your account shut down.

1) Don't let anyone play on your computer.
2) Don't let anyone play on your internet connection.
3) Don't play on anyone else's computer.
4) Don't play on anyone else's internet connection.
5) Don't transfer to anyone.
6) Don't accept transfers from anyone.
7) Use a secure password.
8) Don't leave your machine logged it.
9) Don't set up auto-login.
10) Don't set up more than one account with the same site/network.

Pick your poison. Personally I'd rather follow the rules and play on a site that bans the cheaters.

I have no idea what triggers a ban for being associated with shady players. Transfer at your own risk.

Playing on someone else's connection who also plays at FTP associates you with that player. Again I don't know what triggers a ban in that case, but you should be aware of the risk.
