FTP Answers 5/15 - Page 21 - Internet Poker

I mean, I just don't agree with this at all. Given the current environment, do you really think that a pretty healthy percentage of people would be furious with even a six month timetable if it was properly explained?

Obviously there are people who are going to bitch regardless of what answer/timetable/point conversion they get, but I think most poker players are pretty reasonable. Or they can be, when they aren't getting jerked around, which is what the current situation feels like.

I'm not in the "OMG the moneyz is gone, we're ****ED" camp, but I think the time for non answer answers is past. No one is asking for them to give away trade secrets, or to reveal all of their investment/banking strategies. All that is being requested is answers as to a) where (even generically) the funds are right now - frozen accounts? tied up in investments?, b) what is holding up the withdrawals and c) a general time frame for when those issues will be resolved.

Of course if they give us a date, and then can't meet it people will be pissed. But you can't expect me to reasonably believe that as a result they wouldn't just pad the date anyway. After BF people were projecting this would take months. Even if their worst case projection is like, IDK, October, then tell the US players November 15th with a cogent explanation of why, strive to meet the October deadlines and post updates when specific barriers are overcome, and if they actually met an October deadline they'd look like ****ing geniuses.

+1 I agree with your entire post. I can not stress enough how much I think a timeline for paying players would be beneficial to both FT and the players. Perhaps their worse case scenario for returning players funds is so long they feel the need to stall even longer before they announce it.

FTP hasn't been balancing their checkbook for a while. The only part of their checking account they cared about were deposits. And as the money came in, they funneled it out to other places. I assure you that FTP has kept much closer tabs on the status of deposits than they have on the status of withdrawals.

They are now trying to figure out who is owed what, but they frankly will never figure it all out.

My guess is that this will eventually turn into multiple lawsuits, and FTP will go bankrupt rather than pay out the money they owe.

I assure you, the money is somewhere, but it is hidden in bank accounts throughout the world, in different company and people's names.

These guys are crooks. But then again, why would you think this was a legitimate business to begin with... These guys are gamblers that came up with a way to win on every bet made.

My small withdrawal < $1,000 made 4/17 to Neteller was received this past Friday. I'm also in Oz. I think you may have to wait longer, as I suspect FTP only made a one time deposit to Neteller in order to keep up appearances with the customers that remain. Of course they will rake zero from me now until forever.

FWIW, I don't see how players tourney purchases after April 15th can be reversed yet the store is going to be re-opened for purchases, expect of course, for the things that will cost FTP the most, tourney tickets!!

This is so fkn ridiculous. I am not for violence or anything but really, any owner/name/face of Full Tilt poker that plays the WSOP should really need a uniformed guard shadowing them.
